Can someone post a pic of the gap with the 18rd mags so I know what to expect? Any word on when the short basepad for the 18rd mags will be back in stock?
  3. This is great advice. I have a Lasermax (I think) and they are invaluable, especially if you're sighting in expensive rifle rounds. They aren't that much. I pretty much had my FF3 sighted in on my .22 on the first shot.
  4. Are you still using the dovetail mount or did you get it milled? Are you enjoying CO? I had never shot a dot until a few weeks ago and I really like it. I ordered a Springer dovetail mount this morning to try.
  5. I'm thinking about getting a dovetail mount for my SP-01 to mount my FF3 on it to see if I might like Carry Optics. I've only used this dot on my 22/45, so I have no clue if it is going to be hard to track the dot with more recoil. Assuming you have a decent grip, does the dot stay on the glass or does it just go out of sight then settle back in for you to fine tune it before ripping off another shot? I'm just curious until I order it to try for myself.
  6. 1.120 for me with Blue bullets. I couldn't remember off the top of my head at work earlier.
  7. I tried several 147s and Blue Bullets let me load the longest in CZ.
  8. Right now it's picking up my speed at longer distances. I've been shooting 25yd bill drills and 25yd doubles. I'm also trying to refine my draw/index at distance.
  9. Looks good. I wish they'd make the Mark IV 22/45 in the Target configuration. I much prefer the 22/45 to the Mark series. I love the idea of the takedown button. I cuss like a sailor every time I take my Mark 3 22/45 apart.
  10. Is there a faster way to record your info? I did this the other day and it seemed like it took me forever to get through 150 rounds. Do you record every draw, split, transition, A hit, C hit, etc?
  11. It would probably bring up a bunch of irrelevant topics, sights for sale, etc... And the one topic where you had the same problem as me. In all fairness I did google it.
  12. Ok... Thanks. These are both loose, but it only wiggles, maybe sliding 1/16" total back and forth. I couldn't push it either direction very far by hand. How do you secure it to keep it in place?
  13. When I took out the elevation screw, there was one spring. Are you talking about under the top folding part of the sight or under the entire sight in the dovetail section?
  14. Does anything stay tight on these guns? Shooting tonight and at the end of the session I happened to touch my rear sight. I thought I felt it wiggle, and sure enough, it's loose. So I took the adjustment screw out and both of the set screws are very loose. How do you guys secure these? I'm assuming clean the threads with a solvent. Then do you use red or blue LOC tite? Any tips or tricks?
  15. Yeah, I'm dead center of the USA. I just got the IPSC base pad because I thought I might like a shorter mag for a reload. I just got in from shooting about 150 rounds and I'm happy to say it stayed in place and tight. I think the bushing provided the added benefit it keeping the screw from working loose because I had to "drive" the screw through the plastic, creating it's own threads in the bushing and making it very tight. But now my f$#@#$# rear sight is wiggling around because the two set screws came loose. I'm getting frustrated very fast.
  16. No hijack at all. I'm interested in that stuff too.
  17. I'm kinda disappointed here. I emailed Henning on Sunday and have yet to get a response.
  18. Haha. I hate the smell of Hoppes. Some things I want clean without the oil residue left behind from CLP.
  19. I've been working a lot of drills out of Stoegers books, dry fire and live fire for a while now. I have not been keeping track of progress, as I could easily see improvements in my performance. Well, things have slowed down and I'm not noticing as big of gains. I still think I'm improving, but it's kinda hard to tell. I have heard people suggest to have goals and to keep records to show your progress. I'm starting to agree. I need goals and to be able to see my improvement to stay motivated and focused. How do you guys do it? Do you just right it down in a notebook? Do you use a spreadsheet? Do you use a drill specific format or a generic format? If anyone has a spreadsheet they want to share that would be great. I'm thinking that I could make a sheet for specific drills with a line for the date, then several lines for each runs draw time, splits and transitions in the drill, and my hits. Then after recording my runs on that date, I could file them by drill so I could flip back in time and see if I've improved. Do you record every run during practice? Do you just record you "cold" runs? Sorry if this is rambling (I feel like I am), but I'm kinda thinking out loud and not sure what to ask. How do you track your progress?
  20. I usually use gun scrubber to hose out my other guns in between and during detail cleaning. It seems that I've read it shouldn't be used in certain finishes. I think it was nickel, but not sure. Are there any chemicals (gun scrubber or other) that shouldn't be used on the hard chrome finish?
  21. The bushing just minimizes the distance it can slide forward and rearward with the screw in. It doesn't help tighten the magwell to the frame. It's in the hole that runs through the center of the gun the the magwell bolt goes through. Without the bushing it could slide like 1/4". The bushing has just a little play in the frame hole, so that's what gives it the movement. Mine is not tight at all on the frame without the screw. It wouldn't fall off if you pointed the muzzle up, but it wouldn't take much to make it slide off. The blending of the frame to magwell really helped with reloads. I still need a way to keep the screw from coming loose. It doesn't do it when practicing reloads. It only seems to loosen under recoil. I emailed Henning, but haven't received a reply. No one has experience using red LOC tite on a Henning magwell?
  22. Thanks. I ended up taking a file to the frame last night and beveled/blended it better. With the bushing, I think it will suffice for now.
  23. Could you post a link to these? The drywall anchor fit pretty well. The bushing almost needs the hole offset to the back. I wish I could find a delrin rod that I could cut into sections and then drill a couple pieces with progressively offset holes until I get one that makes it line up where I want. I like this gun, but I hate having to tinker with shit to make it right when I feel like it shouldn't be a problem in the first place. ?
  24. Can anyone tell me what all comes with the gun? How many mags, accessories, etc?
