  1. Move fast when covering long distance with no shooting. When you get close you need to lower your center of gravity, take smaller steps, and get your gun up. This will allow you to start shooting as you come into position (or even before). If you are just talking about generally shooting my moving forward the same principals apply. I think going backwards is easier because you will naturally do it slower. Slow down while shooting and really focus using you legs to absorb all the up-down movement. Your upper body need to stay on a straight path otherwise you will be throwing your shots all over the place. Generally I think it is the moving too fast that gets people.
  2. I hear you on the what constitutes an accidental vs a negligent, but I think it just comes down to most civilians refer to both as accidental. We military people will always have different definitions of certain words. i.e.Bathroom vs Latrine. Part of what makes us who we are.
  3. Don't let people fool you that you can run a Glock in limited for cheap. You will buy a magwell, sights, trigger, springs, firing pin, safety plunger, etc etc etc and end up with over a $1000 gun. That is fine if you like Glock (I ran a 35 all tricked out), but they are not any cheaper then a CZ or a Tanfoglio once you get going.
  4. I am giving a shout out to Tanfoglio Limited Elite in 40. Comes with magwell (not the biggest on out there, but still good sized) fiber optic front sight, drilled and tapped for thumb rest or optic. I absolutely love mine and you can pick them up $1066 on oakhillguns.com right now. People try to tell you that you can't get parts or customer service is bad, but I don't buy that. I have only had to call them once for a new extractor, but it was easy and fast. Had the new part in about a week.
  5. I use it for 40 cal and they work well enough. It is nice to keep your hand out of the way, but I upgraded to the Hornady bullet feeder and would never go back. That said you will like the tubes a lot. It takes a bit to get the feeder die going but once you do you can rock it out.
  6. I have not shot IDPA (not against it just have the opportunity to shoot USPSA most nights so I do that instead), but agree that the vest, cover, priority, etc.. those are the things that make it IDPA and I think they should stay. I don't think switching gear is a big deal. I shoot every division, but open and then carry a pocket gun off duty and my normal duty rig while on. I have never had a problem switching from one to the other. I have practiced it all and even under stress have not had any hang-ups.
  7. I love mine, but if you are looking at a major difference it would be triggers and availability of parts. The hinge trigger does not bother me, but having a million over 2011s at a match and a lot of those people having spare parts would be handy. That in mind I would still purchase my limited again.
  8. I use them in all my guns (Tanfo, Glock, Springfield, STI...etc) and really like them. They run good though my gun and my press. Cheap as well. I have never had the coating come off either. Even when I have my tip a little and then I run it into my seat die. It cuts through the coating, but will stay attached and runs though the gun fine. Getting close to 30,000 of them.
  9. I would add Hornady into your list. Mine works great and I use if for both jacketed and coated lead. Both feed through great and changing over to different calibers takes minimal effort.
  10. Yes in IPSC and USPSA, but most 3 gun event and tac-shotgun matches are no. You have to correct it on the clock or just sacrifice some hearing.
  11. This is very helpful. I did an EGW sear for my limited with the trial and error approach. Got it done with one sear, but it was incredibly annoying to take it apart, put it together, function test, and then do it another 12 times.
  12. I would agree with the above. I have the race master and have learned the hard way to draw perfectly straight up or risk it binding. I still run it as if you practice it will prove to be a very fast holster.
  13. I used a Dawson ice but have now sold the gun. Magwell is for sale if interested. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  14. I looking into that one as well. That one for sure fits the box? Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  15. Oh ok. That sucks. Well you can always move to America where we love all this awesome. So did you get you purchase the gun locally with a 10 rd mag? Or did it come with the large cap? Sorry for the questions just never had to deal with that. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  16. Yep. The base plates that come on them will not work in your magwell. You can modify them or just get the extensions. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  17. Cheaper than dirt sells them then go to Henning or Ben stoeger for the extensions and followers. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  18. With the new k40 mags you will not have problems with factory ammo. I run the same gun in limited div. Absolutely love it. My normal ammo is bayou bullets loaded with titegroup. I did have to get the Wolfe extra power extractor spring as I had a failure to extract every couple hundred rounds but since then the gun as been perfect (~2000 rounds ). 19. I am running a tanfoglio limited and love it. It is all stock minus thumb rest I put on it. Great gun very accurate very fast and a great price. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks everyone for the info. I thought S3 were small frame I am in the US. If they are large frame that is the route I will go. Thanks again
  21. I have a limited elite large frame for limited division. I want to get a set up for production and also be able to take the 9mm slide and run it on my elite for a possible 3 gun pistol. I am looking to confirm that all stock 3's are small frame so I would have to get large frame 9mm mags??? I am also curious about the overall length of a stock 2 slide as it is large frame but has a shorter barrel than my elite? I know the wording is a little poor but I think you can get the drift of what I am looking for. I am also very aware that both guns are hard to find.
  22. Agree^^^^ Nice guy, great product, amazing service, and did I mention sweet prices.
  23. Agree with the DQ but one of the clubs I shoot at gives the shooter that DQed a free pass to the next match. Usually helps smooth things out and encourages them to come back.
