  1. I have hand held Surefire lights, and based on my experience they are extremely good. I have had a 6Z for more than 5 years, no issues, and never had to replace the bulb. I now carry and use for work an E2e which I have had for a couple years (I used to use a mini-mag light and had to replace bulbs about one a month, with the E2e (which fits in the minimag holster) I have never had to replace the bulb, and I use the light all the time (I go thru about 1 - 2 sets of batteries per month). The Streamlight I had didn't hold up as well, and the light output was lower. PS: The E2e gets dropped a lot while working on machines, still going strong. PSS: The guys at work liked the light so much they had the company order some for them.
  2. NcStar makes one that mounts on a Glock rail. I have also seen one that was supposedly made by Glock or for Glock to sell with their name.
  3. I fixed my own. $85 later I have an AC system that gives me an ice cream headache. :) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Couldn't, would void warranty. They finally fixed it toady after my wife ripped into the service manager, problem was switch inside controller intermittently would not go to cool even controls were set to Max AC.
  4. I switched from a Ghost to a CR speed since I can get the same adjustability, and I can set it up for any gun I use, S_I, Para...
  5. Zero bullets work good in my .40, they are the least expensive jacketed bullets I can find. I go thru Angus, and I don't need them shipped. I have used N320, Titegroup, and Universal Clays, all work good for me.
  6. I hate dealership service repairs also... They were supposed to fix the AC (warranty) (three times), and still it blows hotter air than the outside air when outside temperature is above 100 degrees F. I hate traffic lights that are timed so badly that the one 200 ft away turns red when the one you are stopped at turns green...
  7. I mostly have SV mags, and they work great without tuning just added Grams basepads. Only have 2 ST mags and they are both tuned mags they work great also.
  8. Reading the rules (6.2.5.1) it would appear the shooter would shoot for no score. If indeed his mags are longer than the open legal lenght which can be measured according to appendix F-1. (Sorry missed the NROI rulling about EGW gauge on USPSA/NROI website) A second violation by the same shooter could put him in jeopardy of unsportsmanlike conduct DQ per rule 10.6.1.
  9. Z2 is $90 from Brownells for Z2 or from Surefire (if you are or know a dealer you can get it for less from Brownells), Brownells doesn't have Z3 any more, don't see it on Surefire site either.
  10. I seen and scored many the way BDH said. However for the major matches I have RO'd we scored back to front and had tapers standing by most of the targets. We still score pretty fast. Our average time per shooter last year on the stage I worked at Area 2 was 2:20 for a 30 round field course.
  11. I suppose my point is that CR123 type batteries don't require protection circuitry and are unlikely to pose a hazard even at very high discharge rates. I'd also like to add that SureFire lights aren't inherently better than any other source of light. They are simply well-built. If one wants or needs the quality and durability of a SureFire, then by all means, have one. However, if one simply needs a source of light at a given brightness that uses a certain battery technology, there are cheaper alternatives for pretty much every class of light that they make. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My information is based on the article in the most recent American Handgunner. I have not personally seen one do that. I have experienced early battery failure from cheaper CR123 batteries. Quaility and Durability that's the ticket.
  12. Having a little experience with this (RO at several major matches and TMTC club matches) I would have to agree with DQ especially with a person downrange. Safety is highest priority. In this particular case was I RTR, I would at least talk to the RO. PS: Whenever I RO'd a major match we had a designated chaser to ensure the range was clear in addition to the RO. So you have at least a double check that the range is clear of personnel.
  13. JMO Any of the above should be fine. Try a couple out and make sure you try the trigger and action on oe before you purchase it. The 1911's have more available holster options though.
  14. I have a Para P14-45 that I have had for about 10 years, >20,000 rounds thru gun. Feeds everything I have put thru it. I also have a LTD14-45 LDA that is works awsome. It is all about what you prefer to shoot.
  15. Just be careful on the lithium batteries, the ones from overseas don't have the safety features. (Check out the article in American handgunner). I get my batteries direct from Surefire at about $1.40 each including shipping if I by 2 or 3 packs at a time. Can't find that price in stores.
  16. Question on the Ramshot Enforcer the burn rate chart on Ramshot's website shows the burn rate to be between AA9 and Alliant 2400. Is this chart wrong and how would you tell?
  17. One procedural penalty? I definitely would consider that lucky. Any ideas on what the actual penalty should have been?
  18. Dillon 550 will load rifle rounds up to about the 458 Win Mag. A 50 BMG will no fit on a 550. Hope this helps.
  19. One's a contact weapon, the other isn't. That's the difference. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry, should have added just kidding.
  20. I love the idea's in this thread especially about relaxing in the match and not worrying about who is watching you, or using their energy to help you. The reason I quoted sixx is I was talking to a Soldier a while back about on of our stages and his comment was "If it was for real he would back off about 1/2 click and call in an air strike".
  21. I have a G2 in my truck, my wife has one also. A Z6 with the 120 lumen bulb for easy access at night. And I always have an E2e on my hip (this replaced the mini-mag light and fits in the same holster, a good flashlight is necessary for my job). Also our boys overseas have a lot of G2s in Tan according to my source. (I gotta wonder though plastic framed gun OK, plastic with metal lining flashlight bad?)
  22. I've had a plastic one for a few years, and it works great no problems with dropping or banging it around. I also have a Z6 (not made any more), and a couple E2's I carry an E2 all the time and have never had a problem with it but they are expensive (I would add well worth it).
  23. Have you considered the Surefire G2 or G2Z. They are Nitrolon. The G2 is about $34, and the NRA G2Z is about $75 (or the P6 which is aluminum and about $56.) You can get them direct.
