  1. I had hammer follow problems a while back. My issue turned out to be from the grip screw bushings. The thin flange on the frame side of the bushing was cracking out around the center part of the bushing. This allowed the polymer frame to tilt, causing the sear spring to move to the side and disengage the sear. Therefore, not reseting the sear, causing the hammer to follow. I hope this helps. Good Luck. -GB3
  2. It's working for me now. Thanks, guys.
  3. I'm also having the same issue.
  4. XS Sights might be worth looking into. They have some interesting options available.
  5. I love mine. The thing I notice the most is the material that is removed from the "corners" of the grip. The stock grips feel squared and blocky to me. After the reduction, the corners are very rounded off. Having smaller hands, this helps me get a more "choked up", powerful feeling grip.
  6. FWIW, if CHA-LEE asked me to post a video so he could help me with an issue I was having, I would post that video. Then I would say thank you.
  7. There is a thread on here entitled "Sig Sauer 1911 Traditional Match in 40 S&W" (won't let me post the link) that should have some good information for you. I've got about 9000 through mine and, if given the choice, I would buy it again. Also, depending on the stage/round count, SS minor can be an very legitimate advantage.
  8. So I shot the first match with my 6" this past weekend. These are my findings. Recoil: Its almost unbelievable how little this gun moves. I shoots SUPER flat. It's what I'd imagine an iron sighted open gun runs like. It seemed like the slide(14.3oz) cycled a little slow compared to my Single Stack(13.1oz). I left it with my smith and he's lightening it further. I'll give an update on how that turns out when I get it back and put another match on it. Transitions: I notice no difference in speed when transitioning this long thing verses my Single Stack gun. If anything, the extra weight seems to smooth out my "twitchiness" and help negate over-swinging targets. My first impression is that everything felt like it happened at the same speed but seemed smoother and more controlled. Overall: I'm really digging this setup. The gun, by no means, shoots itself, but it's close. I might get addicted to Limited. If I can break the Single Stack habit of changing mags whenever I take more and a step and a half. I dropped a mag with 17 rounds WAY before I wanted to and mentally pooched myself for the rest of the stage. I'll post more 6" FLDC info as I get it figured out. Thanks.
  9. Yes, Rob does very fine work. He has been nothing short of great to work with through the build process and is very helpful with getting things dialed in now that I have it. Couldn't be more pleased.
  10. The gun weighs 43oz with no mag. I have very limited live fire experience with it, do to ND winter weather. But I have run a lot of dry fire with it. My initial impression is that I notice very little, if any, difference in point/transition/balance over my single stack gun. The only time I notice a difference in weight is when the gun is loaded up with 21 rounds. Recoil is gentle so far, but there is still some spring and load development to be done yet. I will try to keep this thread updated with my findings, as I found little to no information out there about limited guns in this configuration.
  11. I should have gotten back to you sooner, Barney. My apologies. The chrome was done by Metaloy. www.originalmetaloy.com
  12. That turned out awesome. Thanks for telling the world before your "friends"... Sorry, big guy. I have shamed myself in front of the world and my friends.
  13. Thanks, guys. I appreciate the kind words. A local ND gunsmith built it, Rob Sailer. I'm very pleased with his work.
  14. Thanks, jnr88. It's hard chromed.
  15. Just picked this up from my gunsmith last night. It's my first STI and I'm super jacked to be a member of the 2011 club.
  16. Just got this one last night.
  17. Dawson Ice No-Gap. So slick, its like cheating. And with the aluminum MSH it's much easier to make weight.
  18. Are you running any sort of shock-buff? If so, try running the gun without it. I found that one of my guns wouldn't reliably feed the first round with the extra .100" taken out of the slide stroke. I removed the aluma-buff and the gun ran like a champ. This was running 165 gr Blue bullets at 1.160", tripp mags and a 12 lb spring.
  19. I found out at Area 3 this past weekend that setup like this, my gun makes weight and easily fits the box. In case anybody was wondering.
  20. If you shoot a lot of bigger stages designed by/for Open and Limited shooters, there's something to be said for the two extra rounds in the mag. Maybe having a Minor SS gun around could be beneficial at matches as well as practice.
