I think the physical part is important. I also think watching top shooters is an excellent idea. Todd Jarrett moves like a cat. Also learn from watching other top shooters. You are in Europe. Maybe you can check on training session from Saul Kirsch or Eric Grauffel. Just a thought. glock17w

I have tried both triggers. I did not like the pretravel in the triggerkit.com. I currently have the Production IPSC SJC trigger job. It feels much better. It breaks at about 2.5 lbs. Haven't tried the Vanek trigger yet. Maybe one day I will try it.

Comp-Tac is my choice in holsters. I have the locking paddle and inside the waist band CTAC as my carry holster. They have great customer service.

I just reserved my spot in a June class with Manny Bragg in Florida. I am excited. As soon as I step off the 14 hour flight from Korea, I will jump in my truck and head to Florida to shoot for two days. I can't wait. I guess I need to go ahead and order my ammo from Atlanta Arms and Ammo. I know I can expect two funfilled days of shooting. I will shoot the Georgia State Match after on the Friday after the training class. I can't wait to get back into shooting. glock17w

I have taken 2 and half years off from shooting. Only shot 3 pistol matches in those 2 and half years. This lay off wasn't by choice none the less it was still time from shooting. My desire is much stronger to come back. The only thing I remember in my mind about competing was my last competition which was one of my best. I still have the mental confidence. I don't think I will be too far behind from where I left off once I return to shooting in June. A break is good. Taking a break is one of the 7 habits of highly effective people. It couldn't hurt you to take a break. glock17w

I just did a distance calculation on whereis.comand it is 51km to the range from the hotel I plan to stay at.

M-Train, I have started the planning phase. I will leave Korea on 15 March, arrive on 16 March, shoot pistol match on 17 and 18 March. I will leave on 21 March. I plan to stay at Holiday Inn Darling Harbour on Harbour Street in Sydney. I know the range is about 35km. I would have to arrange some type of transportation to the range. 3.2 miles at 20% grade going up is a killer on your lungs, heart, and legs. 3.2 miles at 20% grade going down is a killer on your legs and knees. It was a killer. I ran and walked it one morning. I have heard of route that is not as steep. I plan to run that one soon. The Battalion Command Sergeant Major ran Apsan Mountain with me. He ran the Army 10 miler in 54 minutes. He didn't have too much trouble doing it. He did state the first couple of hills knocked the breath out of him. It is not a route for everyone. It felt like I was going to pass out. My heart was beating way faster than normal. It felt like my heart was going to pop out of my chest. I couldn't get enough air. My thighs were burning within the first two hills. Imagine sprinting about 6 or 7 400 meter sprints. It was killing my legs. I made it to the point where I was running and could not move very much. I had to walk and catch my breath and lower my heart rate before I could start running again. My legs never stopped burning. Walking became harder on my legs than running. It was a good burn though. I want to do it again. It will give you an update once I do it again. glock17w

M-Train, I see where the New South Wales States Titles ocur on 17 March 2007 in Blacktown. Blacktown is 35 km from Sydney. I will look in planning my trip around that date. The weather should still be fairly warm. If I can make it (job depending), I would love to shoot but would be content with just watching. 14 stages would be nice to shoot. SJC has done some work on my Glock (slide tightening and Production Trigger Job). I am thinking about letting them fit a KKM Barrell on my G17 to go along with the slide tightening and trigger job once I get back back from Korea. They do a great job and provide excellent customer service. They are great guys all around. glock17w

Shooting in general is a therapy in itself. I really started competing when I was going through my divorce and have been hooked every since. It seems to take your mind off of everything at that moment and the only worries you have are the paper, steel, or other targets in front of you. It is a good feeling. glock17w
