  1. All this good shooting scheduled and I am still stuck in Korea. I will be back to the states in June. Hopefully I will get a god assignment that will allow me to shoot as much as I want. glock17w
  2. I am headed to Misawa, Japan to see my sister, brother-in-law, my 1 month old niece, and my parents. This is much needed leave. My sister is in the Air Force in Misawa. I am excited to get out of Korea for a little time. glock17w
  3. TL You didn't post anything on Paris Hilton being charged with DUI. Or did you not like that?
  4. Get your orders amended once you return. Like Rich said, make sure you annotate it on your travel voucher. If you have any finance problems, send me a PM and I will get one of my Soldiers to inform me of the correct answer and shoot your a PM back. DFAS will square you away though. Welcome back. Make sure they stop your combat entitlements on time if they didn't already stop them coming out of theater. If stopped late, the debt can be enormous. Glock17w
  5. It is too bad I will not be able to make this match this year. I will be stuck in Korea this year. My job will not let me get away. Once I get back, I will be sure to come down and shoot with you at a monthly Steel Match or I will see you at the USPSA Georgia State Match. Hopefully, I will be able to make that match. I had a lot of fun last year. This is a great match. Good luck everyone. Soon enough I will be back and jumping back into shooting. glock17w
  6. I shot IDPA and USPSA Production before I left the states with a Glock 17. I was also introduced to Steel Challenge matches. I do not have any of weapons here with me. BB guns nor real guns are authorized on post. I do shadow drawing and working on snapping my eyes to different targets everyday in the office. My Soldiers laugh at me. They mock me. The only time I get to shoot is when I take my Soldiers to the range. I looked at the USPSA Open/Production stages and visualized how I would shoot them. I will continue to look at different stages and visualize them. I had planned on purchasing 10,000 rounds from Atlanta Arms and Ammo before I came back. I have been checking the cost of ammo at Academy and Walmart. It is almost cheaper to buy 10,000 rounds of 9mm 147 gr for $1425 than buying it separately from Walmart or Academy. I think I would be getting better ammo at just a little more cost. I was also planning to attend a training class from Double Impact if they have one available in the June timeframe. I also wanted to shoot the Gerogia State Match within the first week of returning. I don't exactly when the match is but from historical dates, it will be within the first week of me returning. I wouldn't be very competitive at the match but it would a great match just to get back into shooting. I don't know exactly where I will be going once I return but I will be on leave for a while before I went to my next duty station. glock17w
  7. I am currently in Korea. I should return to the states in about 8 months. I will not have consistently shot or competed in a match for over 2 and 1/2 years. What are you recommendations in my road back to shooting and competing? What can I be doing now? What should I do once I return to the states? I would like to hear everyone's opinion on what my plan and road back should be. Thanks (Kamhapsamnida). glock17w
  8. When I first started competing in IDPA, I used a Glock 30 in the SSP division. I used that for about 6 or 7 months and then I bought a Glock 17. I never competed with the G30 again. glock17w
  9. He has great work ethic and mental toughness. He knows what it takes to win. glock17w
  10. I like the music. Good video. Keeps me motivated to be ready to shoot once I return to the states. glock17w
  11. He is on fire. He is winning and always shows a lot of class. I think he is a great athlete and competitor and mentally tough. glock17w
  12. What if the PF of the Atlanta Arms 9mm 147gr JHP ammo?
  13. uscbigdawg, good luck at fort bragg. i have no idea where i might go next. i have 10 months and 3 days left in Korea. I am counting down. I can't wait to get back to the states. glock17w
  14. I am 6'8". I have always had the same concerns as ZoomZoom. Everything is center around the short guy.
  15. I used to have a problem with this. I was gripping way to hard with the right hand and not hard enough with the support hand. Let the support do most of the gripping. The primary focus for the right hand is to pull the trigger. If you gripping too hard with you right hand, you can relax your trigger finger enough to pull the trigger straight back. Relax, take the slack out, line up the sights, and break the trigger. glock17w
  16. I plan on taking a class with Max once I get back from Korea. I am looking forward to it. glock17w
  17. On Friday morning, I ran and walked Apsan Mountain with my Battalion Commander, Command Sergeant Major and a few others. My CSM is a beast and ran the whole way to the 2/3rds mark in about 24 minutes. He is a runner. I made it half way walking and running. TO make excuses, I had to stand in a Brigade Change of COmmand and Inactivation ceremony for an hour on Thursday and go to the Army Birthday Ball on Thursday night. I had 4 hours of sleep and got up an ran. I was very tired. I will plan to run and walk the whole thing one day soon in the early morning when I am well rested. It is a beast of a mountain though. My legs are getting stronger and more defined. I feel good about myself everyday after I do hard PT. MTF glock17w
  18. More PT in order to get ready for Apsan Mountain. On Tuesday, we did sprints. On Wednesday, we did a slow 2 mile run. On Thursday, we did some Land Navigation training on Hill 303. If you know anything about the Korea War, a major battle was fought on Hill 303. It is straight up rugged terrain. Walking it was a pain in the butt, but we did it for about 2 hours trying to find land navigation points. On Friday, we did a 2.5 mile run but we sprinted every hill we came to. 3 hills. We sprinted up them running forward and running backwards. Running backwards builds the quadricep nicely. We sprinted each hill 3 times each. On Monday, we ran a 10K (6.2 miles), well a little more than a 10K because I had to go back and run in with my Soldiers since I never leave them on the PT field alone. We will focus on building our upper and lower body instead of running the rest of the week. Give them some time off from running a little. MTF glock17w
  19. That's moving out. 12 miles in 2.25 hours. How much did your ruck weigh? This morning the detachment ran a 10K (6.2 miles). I was slowing around and came in at 48 minutes. It was a good run. Building up the leg endurance to tackle the hills. Tomorrow we will do a sprint workout to build up the lungs and fast twitch muscles. I love hard PT. It seems to start the day off right. MTF (more to follow).... glock17w
  20. I walked and ran Apsan Mountain this morning. I broke it down into 11 hills. My plan is to run the odd numbered hills and then walk the even numbered hills in order to get ready to run up the whole mountain. It was nice and cool this morning so I didn't over heat. I have my Soldiers wanting to tackle the 20% grade mountain. I have added it to the Company PT schedule once a month. I will give another update next Saturday when I run it next Saturday morning. glock17w
  21. Check out this video clip. Glock at work. Glockwithdrummag.wmv
  22. I am always in Seoul. It is my second home. Let me know when you will be up and we will get together. I will PM you both of my cell phone numbers. Liota, I will be in Osan one day soon when I get some time. I will give you a call once I am headed that way. I am getting pretty excited now that the summer is approaching due to the fact we are focusing on preparing for our Convoy Live Fire Exercise. I am trying to get ammo to do a lot of shooting next quarter. I am sure the Soldiers will love it and so will I. I will be able to give them a piece of my knowledge. Makes me feel good as a commander to give them the opportunity to train on something that may one day save their life. glock17w
  23. I say thanks to my Soldiers everyday for what they do. One thing I have learned in command is that if you take care of Soldiers they will take care of you. If you take care of them, they will do anything in the world for you. "Impossible is nothing" (Adidas slogan) when a Soldiers knows that you will take care of them. I wish more people would take note to that. When you see a Soldier, Marine, Sailor, or Airmen, take time to talk to them and listen to what they have to say. In conversation, they will tell you the same thing in so many words. glock17w
  24. I carry a G30 in a CompTac CTAC. You can carry 11 rds of 45 ACP comfortably all day long. glock17w
  25. I have started my train up. I am riding the bike at the gym and running sprints in order to build up my leg strength. I am going to run it two hills at a time to build up. It is going to hurt but I want to do it. I will keep you updated on my progress. glock17w
