I like my 85c so much that I sold my two shadows... Did you like it because of the short dust cover and skinnier frame? If so, did you ever give this one a try? http://czcustom.com/new-firearms/cz-pistols-custom/cz-75-shadow-custom-14-blk.html I honestly like the balance and look of the 75 shadow over the sp01 shadow.

I use this stuff: http://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-2-in-x-15-ft-Safety-Walk-Step-and-Ladder-Tread-Tape-7635NA/100132176 Cheap and works great for me. I suggest buying one of those paper trimmers instead of using scissors if you're just trying to cut straight lines.

Pro-tek's do have a firing pin block. They use a solid pin so it might harder to see in the pictures, but it's there. The only compact I know of that doesn't have a fpb is a shadowline compact.

When this guy says "bad for the sear" is he referring to your pinch method or just decocking in general? And to answer both questions: 1). No; how else are you supposed to decock it? 2). Never heard of this happening. I read somewhere on the internets that Angus at CZ Custom has drop tested shadows at 12ft and they haven't gone off. You can interpret that info how you like, but I'm pretty confident when using my shadow at matches that I won't have an AD if I bump a decocked hammer on the draw. As for the pinch method, just a word of caution that if you do use that method, make sure your fingers aren't slippery. I used the pinch method at my very first USPSA match and DQed myself because my hands were sweaty and the hammer slipped. Now I use this method shown below:

You can also use this one: http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0420008029_Slide-Stop-Cz-75-9mm That's the one I use for my 75 shadow (short dust cover kind). I just checked and it fits my SP01.
-
If you can somehow manage to find a standard sp01 and a cz 75b sao, then those would be just about identical to a sp01 shadow and a 75 shadow.
-
The sp01 has a slightly large magwell flare, front and backstrap checkering. I have both an sp01 (non-shadow) and a 75 shadow. I like how the 75 shadow feels better than the sp01. It feels better balanced in my hand. Get a stock shadow (whether sp01 or 75) and do the mods yourself. It's not too difficult if you're handy.

I use them for Mec-gar 10 round mags. They work great for me.
-
It's a P01 with the euro roll mark. I have a P01 with the same roll mark.

Safety detent doesn't hold right safety in place, safety detent lock does and looks like this: I should have clarified. If you have tumbler style safeties, then a detent does hold the right hand safety. If you have D style safeties, then yes, a detent lock would be what holds it in place.
-
The detent is in the interior of the frame. They are easy to see once you remove the sear cage.
-
Did the safety detent fall out? That's what holds the safety in place. Looks like this: http://czcustom.com/safteydetentplungercz75.aspx

That's definitely the safety model hammer. I would contact the guys as CZC.

What was the problem with the hammer? Did you get the correct one? This is the one you should be getting since you have a decocker model: http://czcustom.com/czcomphammerdecockeronly.aspx

I only both a SP01 (with a highly tuned trigger) and a 75 Shadow also. Since I'm no world class shooter or anything, the recoil feels roughly the same. I have slightly small hands so I prefer the 75 Shadow because it feels slimmer in my hand. If I were to keep one, I'd keep my 75 Shadow.

I don't think this one's production legal - only 10 of them made. That's the CZC Atrox, correct?

Hi Chipmunk, There's a bunch of clubs out here: This one's probably the closest to SF: http://www.richmondhotshots.com/ And then this one located in Concord, CA: http://diabloactionpistol.com/ If you feel like traveling to somewhere closer to Sacramento area, I usually pick up a match with one of these clubs here: http://www.actionpistol.org/default.html Good luck with the move!
-
If that's the case, then I guess I'll just use it as a dry fire gun. Nothing wrong with having another CZ ...

I did my homework on the rules. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=55590 Is this no longer applicable? Also, just found this: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=107853 Is this not applicable either? Most signs are pointing that it is production legal.

Thanks Atlas! I was gonna swap in a comp hammer and do most, if not all, the mods in your tutorial.
-
Besides the following swaps, does anyone know what else it would take to convert a 75 SAO to SA/DA? - SAO trigger swap to SA/DA trigger - add disconnector I compete in USPSA production division and prefer the 75 Shadow short dust cover frame and was hoping to build a dry fire/backup gun. I'm in CA and getting another 75 Shadow is next to impossible for me. Thanks for any input!

I own 2 P01s and I agree with you! It always looks so easy in pictures or in a video. But reassembly of the sear cage with a decocker spring is definitely a pain in the @$$!

Emjei, I disassembled and reassembled probably close to 10 times. However, I only did file work on the disco. I only had spare discos. I did not have spare trigger bars or lifter arms. I left the sear cage intact in fear I might take off too much metal from the lifter arm. My suggestion - just get a slave pin and leave the sear cage as one whole piece if you don't feel like dealing with it.

Thank you all for this guide. I literally just finished fitting a type 1 disco to my SP-01 with a firing pin block. The trigger now rivals my 75 Shadow short dust cover. I can't wait until my next match!
