  1. i use the old IDPA 10 rounders for IDPA.....you don't have to worry abut having too many rounds in the mag.....thinking back a little seems like i had to cut off a coil to even get 10 rounds in the darn things......D I C K
  2. we've started an IDPA Program at Buccaneer Gun Club in Wilmington NC www.buccaneergunclub.org and i'd like to have a safety briefing that i can read before every match......anybody got such a thing???? thanks...D I C K.......
  3. Crap!!!!! Just found out that the inventory online was wrong so no Kel-Tec bullpup for Christmas....D I C K
  4. i think he got mine from SportsSouth who at the time had 10 of them....dealer cost is less than $1200...i'm going to put an Ops Inc. comp on it after i shoot it a little as is.....i'll probably run an aimpoint on it for running and gunning but i've got several high magnification variable power scopes that i'll use to see how accurate it is....D I C K
  5. i've now got one on the way....and will ring it out to see how it runs......D I C K
  6. i've seen the video's on utube and read the NRA article....it may be a good companion piece to my LAR 8 since it uses the same mags...Anybody know the scoop on them........?? D I C K
  7. i've had Jay Della Bella build a couple of guns for me and i once asked him a similar question concerning Kart or whoever else....He handed me a new Kart and a new Barstow and asked me to look down the bore.........the Kart looked like it had been made by a fine jewelry company and the Barstow looked like....well i've been a Kart man ever since......D I C K
  8. i like mine and if all you're using is boat tail bullets you'll be fine also....i was given a bunch of flat base 308 bullets and found very quickly that some chamfering is required to load them.......D I C K
  9. Cases were OK after the 1st loading but some split on the second time around......D I C K
  10. i've noticed that the newer Blazer Aluminum cased ammo is boxer primed in the 9mm and the 40....i loaded and fired handfull of the 40's with no ill efects....primer isn't very tight going in but i've loaded a lot of brass cased that was a lot worse.......D I C K
  11. a buddy called and says he bought one of these things for his daughter and may want to put a more effective comp or brake or whatever on it instead of the quick detach thing........i haven't seen it but can i put some other comp on it like one that would replace the flash hider on a regular AR....thanks....D I C K
  12. i asked Dillon about this topic once and was told that they don't chamfer the inside or outside after trimming with their trimmer....i've been using their trimmer for several years now and my 223 and 308 run great and reload great as long as i'm using boat tail bullets........a buddy gave me 800 bulk Remington "flat base" bullets and i had to break out the chamfering tool to get them to seat......D I C K
  13. my ESP 9mm 1911 was built on a caspian frame with holes predrilled for a scope mount....i'm thinking about going to a state match in August and don't want to run afoul of any rules.....i did a quick look around in the rule book and didn't see anything.....whadayathiink////D I C K
  14. looks like Natchez shooting supply has the hornady 6000 packs....D I C K

  16. the only way to know is to load'em and see.....i've loaded some 9mm cast in 38's and they shoot fine in some and suck in others....all depends on bore diameter as i see it....D I C K
  17. i was using a buddies super 1050 to swage primer pockets and just enough times to be a nuisance it would jam the shell between the shellholder and the slide that carries the shell from the drop tube.....we both are new to the 1050 and are wondering what we can do to make this thing work better....thanks....D I C K Also i just remembered......as i was finishing up a bunch of 223's i noticed that the handle was mushy feeling at the top of the stroke and i was having to push through the mushy feeling to get it to fully index.........any thoughts on that??
  18. i bought one of these yuears ago when they first came out by rcbs,,,,,i either didn't know how to use it or something because i had a bunch of stuck cases.....i used to say the guy that designed it got a commission for each stuck case remover they sold........Dillon spray lube is the way to go.......D I C K
  19. a buddy told me he was loading 14 grains of 2400 pistol power and his rifle runs fine with it....got the load from the Aliant manual....he says it is a very light load and very quiet....anybody else ever tried it??....D I C K
  20. i don't know what the thread pattern is but i've got a Smith Enterprizes comp on my colt 9mm.....D I C K PS....i don't think it will do what you want......i think most of the issue with the 9's is the heavy bolt...banging back and forth
  21. i shot this one over the weekend and some shooters were shooting more than six shots on the close freestyle position......Is this legal????? D I C K
  22. if i were to do this again i wouldn't take any metal off the top of the upper except for a flat place at the front where the carry handle comes down onto the upper and a flat place near the rear sight......the upper is very thin so i would cut a slot on the underside of the picatinny that would fit where the mold joint is on the top of the upper and that would give me much more metal for the screws to bite......also if you could be making money doing something for the half a day or so that it took to do this you'd be better served to buy a upper like this that RRA sells........D I C K
  23. i found one that Rock River makes that is basically the same thing i'm thinking about but i'm trying to do it myself with what i have on hand.....i have access to a mill ect..........thanks.....D I C K
  24. i've got a AR M4 parts gun that i'm thinking about milling off the front portion of the fixed carry handle sort of like some of you guys have done with the detachable carry handles......after that i plan to flatten the top of the upper and add a piece of picatinny......and run an aimpoint on it..... over the years i've seen early target AR's with the entire fixed carry handle removed and a piece of rail mounted on them for scopes....... anybody got a picture of one or done anything like i'm proposing......thanks....D I C K
