  1. Dont know the load data but a buddy was trying to shoot very light charges in his ruger PCC 16" using 380 bullets and ended up with several bullets in the barrel....D I C K
  2. here's a three video rant i guess you'd call it ...this poor guys saint wouldn't chamber anything when he got it and it didn't get much better after sending it back to Springfield...... Judge for yourself....D I C K
  3. Case gauge is a Dillon.......i'm sure they'd love to hear this story.....but i've had several others over my years of reloading that i'm sure gauged some of this ammo to be good...i suspect i got the dillon in a package of reloading gear i got from some retiring shooter...... here's a little more to this story.....went shooting today.....took 60-80 rounds loaded on another loader that i help a buddy set up.....started off with those and had no problems.chambered and shot fine....shot 40 rounds of the ammo that was giving trouble on my first outing...... no failures to chamber....they all went into battery...however they were sticky to try to clear so the ammo is still out of spec a little.....but maybe some of the issues on the initial outing was something that the continued shooting/break in has helped correct...... i don'tneed another case gauge....i'll just use this rifle LOL....thanks for the comments...D I C K PS...did have something happen while i was looking for the case gauge.....saw an old can powder that looked rusty.....picked it up and it practically fell apart in my hand and powder had already run out of the other side.....guess that powder is ready for the trash
  4. Evidently not..... there is no telling how many thousands of rounds loaded just like these I have on hand that will run through every 556/223 that I own...... ive been in touch with a rifle builder I know to get him to cut the chamber hopefully to cure this...
  5. Well as much as I hate to admit it.....that seems to work.....I took a round that would not chamber, pulled the Bullet and resized it and now it chambers fine...... with as much ammo as I have loaded that runs fine in my 4 other rifles, my only option is to sell this one and move on or have someone recut the chamber.....
  6. Thanks Chuck..... I actually took an empty case that case gauged perfectly and the result is the same......thx
  7. I purchased a Springfield saint pistol yesterday and of course went straight to the range....the pistol refuses to chamber my reloads and if by chance one does chamber you cannot get it out without going to extraordinary means......These rounds will pass the case gauge test as well as shoot in my RDB, Bushmaster and Delton upper on another rifle......i've been reloading for over 50 years and have never seen anything like this..... In Springfields defense i ran 60 rounds of factory green tip and it ran flawlessly......any thoughts will be appreciated....Thx....D I C K
  8. we've got our mover system from Secure Systems mover in place and are getting ready to build the walls ect.....The only diagram i can find is one by the NRA i guess and it shows the walls as 50' apart......is that correct?? For some reason i thought they were 60' apart....any help is appreciated....thx....Dick

  10. thanks guys....i got a quote from Secure of seems like $10,600 for the 4 track one including shipping ect....RC
  11. you guys should be able to head me in the right direction on this range improvement... we're looking to replace our Bianchi mover system at our club in NC.....presently we use carriers suspended from cables which creates problems with shot cables ect......... Who makes a good one which runs on tracks and is suitable for Bianchi Cup thx....D I C K
  12. i had one in something go off when the primer was in there sideways.....luckily the powder didn't ignite....D I C K
  13. i bet i'm not the only one that does not hook a vaccum to the trimmer....i only use the vaccum to clean up the mess after im finished...D I C K
  14. Over my 40 + years of reloading i thiink i've tried almost every method of swaging pockets.....one of them was the C&H one that is basically the same as this one for the 650....what i have found is that if there is not something inside the casing pushing it down on the swaging tool from the inside such as the 1050, the Dillon swager or the RCBS, you are asking for problems with the rim being deformed when it is unsupported while the swager is doing it's job....i remember the C&H one would pop a shell clean out of the shellholder and still wouldn[t do as good a job as the ones with a mandrel on the inside of the case i finally settled onthe RCBS because it will make a pocket just like a factory non crimped ones without making the pocket too big like you can do with the dillon tool...seems like the last time i times myself i was doing between 15 and 20 per minute......D I C K
  15. i tried another red tube adapter from another conversion and it works better......i think the red one i was using had been slightly deformed by cases catching in it....i'll give them a call and check on the purple swing arm adapter....thx D I C K Just called DP they are sending and say the swing arm bushing should be red and the tube adapter will be purple.....
  16. i just converted my 650 back to 40 and all of a sudden i'm having a problem with the case that is being taken from the feeder tube snagging on the next case up in the tube....i'm using the red thing on the end of the case feed tube and the green bushing....when it snags it is disloging the red part making the problem even worse......anybody know of something i can adjust to cure this...thx....D I C K
  17. i load 223's by the thousands but only every 5 years or so and just realized the other day that when i was triming them with the dillon trimmer that i was using a univrsal decapping die only in station one.....so i was not using an expander ball ....it sort of concerned me so when i took a batch out to chrono them and i could see no illl effects from not using the expander ball.... D I C K
  18. i also have noticed recently that w primers are not very uniform...i have no idea how old mine are but when you put them in the fllipper tray you can see that some are flat on the bottom and some are more dome shaped....but they all work fine in my machines.... i also had a problem with my machine li've never experienced before....the primer punch was not retacting all the way back down as it should on my 650....i put the small assembly from my other machine and it cured the issue...dillon has another one on the way personally i don't like cci primers....i have had large pistol ones that were so big that you couldn't seat them flush......D I C K
  19. Posted Today, 10:38 AM when my 930 was new i had the light strike issue but cleaning the rings seemed to have cured that problem.....mine has been shot a bunch.....recently however it seemed like every outing i'd have some sort of malfunction...... i really didn't take time to analyze it, but a couple of times it seemed like it did't cock the hammer because when id pull the trigger for the second shot it felt like the hammer had already fallen or just didn't cock for whatever reason....not sure if that was what had happed or not....if it ever happens again you can bet i'll stop and figure it out..... another of the malfunctions was a light strike...it had marked the primer...i reloaded the shell and it fired..... i replaced the hammer spring with the extra power Ruger one from Wolf and all the malfunctions seem to be gone....you can tell from the sound that it is obviously dropping the hammer with a lot more force....because this past weekend i shot it 75 times and the only thing out of the ordinary was that it failed to lock back after the last shot onone occasion....D I C K

  21. 930's will use the old winchokes which are slightly extended....just go to a big pawn shop or Ebay and you can get them for not much money...i looked around until i now have just about all of them ....D I C K like this one http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=285548543
  22. i doubt this is your case but i've loaded shotshells before left bunches of unburned powder in the receiver.....it is not unusual to have it build up to a point and then flash....D I C K
  23. Update....i got a call from Mark Mueller of Elite Tactical advantage the manufacturer of this forearm and he says that when i returned mine he did not have one on stock to replace it or he would have sent it right away....he says they just got returned from powder coating and he was going to send me another.....just got it today and it looks nice...no more phillips head screws either....Mark seems like a stand up guy and i regret his getting tangeled up in this........As for S&J, when a customer calls they need to think "WWDD" which we on this forum know means "What Would Dillon Do"....D I C K
  24. what i've found is that although the forend is nicely finished that the area i'm not using for my sidearmor goodie can still chew you up .....i've been playing with hand thrown clays just to see how many i can get and holding the gun by the alum forend while throwing them will wear on your hand......OK, since you asked, i can get 5 once, 4 most of the time, 3 all the time...anybody who can hit 10 or whatever is superhuman.....D I C K Yes, us gun folks can be quite peculiar. Spend $75-$450 to put rails on things, then spend $20-$100 more to cover them up so it's like they're not there.
