  1. I'm a rough carpenter and use Riged tools all the time. You can't beat them for the price.
  2. Is Records the name of the manufacturer?
  3. If 50 different recommendations on presses/powders/accessories doesn't scare him off, I don't think a little tip about having a study table will. And I didn't say anything about size, only that it should stay put while loading. Table size and height is all relative.
  4. I have to agree that this guy has no idea what he's talking about. Manually lowering the hammer is easier on the sear than the firing cycle because your sear isn't even in contact with the hammer hooks. Also, you could never exert the amount of force necessary, during your draw stroke, to ignite the primer.
  5. I've definitely tanked a stage or two in my day. The key is not letting it affect the rest of your match
  6. Personally, I have found 300blk to have the best penetration/ energy dispersion. I shoot 155 gr A-max on top of 14gr of Accurate #9.
  7. I couldn't help but notice no one mentioned an important piece of the puzzle. Once you buy whichever press you decide to use, you're going to have to mount it to something. That something should be a heavy, sturdy workbench or table with no wiggle or play. Make sure your table is set at a comfortable height as well. I do most of my reloading standing, so my table is set up right at belly-button height. During longer sessions, I have a stool that I can sit on/lean against and still load comfortably.
  8. I had to seat 135gr Bayou RN to 1.10. A shooting buddy of mine has the same gun (SP-01 Shadow) and he gets away with 1.135. I ended up going with 124gr Berry's RN at 1.4 and am very happy.
  9. I can't speak for the G43, but have used a Ghost Rocket on all my other Glocks(34,23,17L) and like it a lot. Consistent 3.5 lb pull, crisp break, and zero over-travel. Very short reset as well. A little fitting is required, but it's pretty simple.
  10. Has she tried an M&P yet? The grip is quite small with the small back strap. If it's still too big, you can simply take it off and shoot it with no back strap. Kahr is another one that comes to mind.
  11. There is a slight size difference, but the Blade-Techs will work with both.
  12. From my experience, this is how they rate from softest to hardest: Federal Magtech Winchester Remington CCI I've never used Wolf or Tula, but I believe they're on the harder side. If incorrigible has good ignition with Remington, I would just steer clear of CCI.
  13. As much as I like the Safariland pouches, if you can afford it go with the CR Speed. They are more adaptable if you decide to switch platforms down the road. I bought my first CZ Shadow this year and the 773's wouldn't tighten down enough on the mags. With all the inserts that come with the CR's, you can run any mag you can think of. Even single stack. I've never used them, but I know a lot of guys who run Double Alpha and like them a lot as well.
  14. I don't know how wide the ELS belt is, but the Tek-lock mount will accept up to a 2 1/4" belt. If it's bigger than that, +1 on the stingray. If money isn't an issue, I would definitely go with the BOSS hanger. I love it.
  15. +1 on 9. I had the privilege of working for Larry Woo when I was 14. He was a world champion skeet shooter and told me it was the only way to go. I've stuck with his advice and can't say I'd ever switch. I use 8 for sporting clays.
  16. One of my production rigs is an XDm and I run the Safariland 773 mag pouches. They are awesome! They are fairly inexpensive, they don't take up a lot of real estate (which can be at a minimum in production), they have good mag retention while allowing them to slide out real easy on reloads. They are also low profile so you can get a great grip on the mag. The only issue I had was the retention screws would start to back out after about 10 matches, which was easily fixed with a little blue thread locker. Hope this helps ??
  17. +1 on the BOSS hanger. I ran a DOH for quite a while, and like you, questioned whether it was the best way to go. After I bought the BOSS hanger, I timed my draws/target acquisition at different holster heights to find the fastest and most comfortable setting. I don't really take concealed carry into consideration because then I'd start to question whether I should run stages with my shirt untucked ?
  18. Blade Tech Black Ice is awesome! I ran their DOH attachment for a while, but had to go the toaster oven/extra washer route to keep it within 2". Then I bought the BOSS hanger and haven't looked back. Now I run that set-up on all my production rigs
  19. I had the same issue with some .223 brass I converted to 300 Blackout. It's almost like the pressure they put on the case to make the crimp ring squashes the pocket smaller. After tearing my fingers apart trying to ream all the pockets, I bought a swager and it's made things much easier!
  20. They do look really cool. How thick are they vs. the stock rubber grips? They are very close to the stock rubber grip width at the base, only .06 thinner. They are contoured to allow easier access to the mag release, but thicker at the base, mimicking a 2011 frame pistol. I just ordered a pair myself and will post my thoughts once I send a few down range.
  21. Since there is no limit on barrel length in Limited, I believe the answer lies in how well you can shoot a longer barreled gun. There is always give and take, so what you gain in accuracy you loose in target transition and sight acquisition. I would shoot a 3" barrel over a 6" barrel if my scores were better with it.
  22. Have you tried switching brands of coated bullets? I run Bayous through my G34 and 17L and have never had an issue with leading. No smoke either. And their inexpensive to boot!
  23. I have to agree with you thunder. I will most likely keep my eyes open for a great deal on a Wilton, but get a budget friendly US made vise to get by for now. My vise is going on one end of my reloading bench and I have a few fluorescent hoods over my head, so ample light is one thing I do have. Thanks for the advice!
  24. The Columbians look pretty solid and you can't beat the prices!
