  1. I replaced the PSA OEM POS trigger (3 acronyms in a row! Do I win a prize?) with a Hiperfire 24C. I am very happy with it. FWIW, the 24C worked flawlessly for over 10K rounds. Then all of a sudden it wouldn't reset consistently. I flushed the trigger assembly compartment several times with non-chlorinated brake cleaner but the problem persisted. I decided to take it apart and clean it in m ultrasonic cleaner. Lo and behold, when I pulled out the trigger parts, three small pieces of shell casing dropped out as well. The largest was maybe 1/8-inch in diameter. Apparently, these were jamming up the works somehow and causing all the problems. I cleaned everything (it wasn't very dirty) and reinstalled the trigger. It has worked 100% for more than another 1K rounds. Lesson learned: If you're having a problem with your trigger make sure that there isn't any foreign material causing the issue.
  2. I like it . I have mine installed on the lowest position. This lets me place my finger tip in the same location every time. I use the lowest position to ensure that my trigger finger doesn't rub the frame. The lowest position also results in the lowest trigger pull force.
  3. CR Speed belt and versa mag holders for me.
  4. What bullet, weight, powder brand and load, and OAL were you using?
  5. I'm using an OAL of 1.10 in the exact same carbine. The throat is a bit short but I found it easier to shorten the OAL than to ream the throat.
  6. I have the HS510C model. It has the 65 MOA circle with a 2 MOA dot in the center. I'm still very happy with it.
  7. Brownells has free shipping, no minimum purchase today only. Use Code M3W at checkout.
  8. One advantage I've found with the Glock style mags is that I can use Magpul clones. I have a 17-round Magpul that I use for classifier reloads. The plastic is much slicker than the Glock rubberized coating so it goes in faster and more reliably. Andy, If you want to try my PSA AR-9 just let me know and we can meet at GTR.
  9. To paraphrase the Borg, "We are the PCC shooters. Lower your emotional shields and surrender your pistols. We will add your Glock mags and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your pistol culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.”
  10. I use 124 grain MG CMJ's. My PSA loves the ogive and they have a coated base just as a JHP does. It does not like the truncated cone shape of the MG JHP's. I haven't tried the Zero JHP's with the smooth ogive but I suspect those too would work 100%
  11. I don't understand why the Open and even Limited shooters would object to PCC's because they might be at the top of the overall scores. Production, SS, L10 and even Carry Optics consistently finish below Open and Limited for equal level shooters. I don't hear those shooters complaining because they know they're competing against others in their division. Maybe the Open shooters (of which I am one) should be served some cheese with their whine.
  12. The PCC rules really need to state a default start position similar to what is included for pistols. The other issue is that there is no clear definition of "low ready" and "port arms" in the PCC rules. The various classifiers don't define them. Even the Best Practices list the option to use either yet don't define them. Three gun has the same lack of definition.
  13. I agree that the OEM trigger package was a POS. You'll be very happy with the Hiperfire 24C.
  14. I have a Hiperfire 24C in my PSA AR-9 PCC that is set at 2 pounds. It now has 8K rounds through it with no firing pin breakage. However, a FP spring broke last week. An easy fix if during practice but not if it occurs when you're running a match stage. I've broken one AR-15 FP and two in my 2011 STI's over the years. These are rare enough that I don't consider it a problem.
  15. Well, I finally had a failure. After 7800 rounds, the firing pin spring broke during today's practice session. Fortunately, I had a spare that was included with my spare firing pin and was back practicing in about 5 minutes. I just ordered three more springs from Primary Arms for the whopping total of $7.33 delivered. Other than that, the PSA continues to purr.
  16. I have a Hiperfire 24C in my AR-9 PCC. I have it equipped with the lightest springs and with the pad set at the lowest indent. This resulted in a 2# 3 oz. trigger pull at installation. I prefer it over my standard JP in one of my AR-15's.
  17. That seems to be the general consensus. Of course, the Wright brothers were told by many people that their plane would never fly. I have second hand anecdotal information that it works on at least one PCC build. I am hoping to find someone who has one on their PCC to get their feedback..
  18. Has anyone put one of these on your PCC? If so, what are your thoughts? Would you do it again? 9mm U M Tactical R.A.G.E. comp
  19. I now have 6K rounds through my PSA Glock pattern upper and lower. I've had zero problems with broken components.
  20. Here's a recent thread on this topic. What Distance?
  21. Mine is still working 100% too. I use it 2-3 times per week for practice and occasionally for a match.
  22. Good to hear that someone can testify to the advantage of a 9mm brake. What brand are you using?
  23. Do you have one on your PCC? If so, is it effective? I have yet to see anyone who has a brake on their PCC that they feel has made a significant improvement in sight/dot movement.
  24. My $700 Glock based PSA now has 4300 rounds through it. I've had no problems once I figured out that it likes OAL's in the 1.10 range and replaced the OEM trigger pack which was not reliable.. Mine has a Hiperfire 24C trigger, a Raptor charging handle and a generic ambi-safety from eBay. Those are the only changes I've made other than add a Holosun 10C reflex sight. Like Flatland Shooter, I purchased some replacement parts from NFA. I haven't used any of them to date.
  25. I'm loading 124 gr. MG CMJ's at 1.10 OAL with 4.3 gr. CFE Pistol to make 'em go. I've only had one failure to extract in over 4K rounds. I suspect that one was just a bad piece of brass. I'm more than happy with my PSA 9mm PCC with the Glock billet lower. I wrote an in-depth review for the PSA site of both the upper and lower citing the shallow throat and OAL limit of 1.10 for my PCC. They never published either for some reason.
