Stoeger Extension - to clamp or not to clamp?
Punkface replied to .40isthenew.45's topic in Shotgun - Technical
I've seen shotguns without clamps bring abused and thrown with no problems. I keep the taccom one on just in case but I don't know if it's absolutely necessary though. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk -
It was a local 3 gun match. That particular stage was steel targets, a Texas star, and about half paper targets. It was handgun only as well. I actually ran out of ammo at the very end so I got an FTE. It was kind of entertaining to see all of us borrowing magazines from each other for the stage. I'm shooting with a g34, stoeger m3000, and an AR that I built slowly over a year or two. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Didn't do too bad. Placed 31/42 and didn't get a DQ so great day overall. Had a 53 Target stage that destroyed me. That was a tough one. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

I've been a member here for a while but stopped coming by and took a break from shooting to deal with life a bit. Shot my first match in 3 years last weekend and I'm coming back! Glad to be here again. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

"Free-Float" shotgun clamp - Oh, yea TACCOM!
Punkface replied to ericm's topic in Shotgun - Technical
Mine hasn't rotated or loosened in about 100 birdshot and 25ish slugs. -
Did i miss reading about this mod or is it Top secret MOA-ness. i almost chop sawed mine but couldn't find where to buy a spare "just in case" I asked about it when i first found this thread but got no answers. Anyone know where to buy one so I can experiment with it as well?

Whatever you feel most comfortable with. I use a 26" barrel. IIRC a longer barrel shoots slugs slightly less accurately and has a slightly tighter spread.
-
I used a set of snap ring pliers and a lot of profanity to get that thing off.

Got mine yesterday. Put it on the m3000 and it fits great. Getting it over the first inch of the barrel is rough since the barrel is slightly larger up front but after the first inch it's all smooth sailing. I put a small crack in mine during installation and Tim told me if I ever wanted, just send him a picture and he'd send me another one out no problem. I'll keep it as is for now but it's great to know these things are backed up by a good warranty and a stand up company. -

I'll buy one as soon as there's a non-railed version released. -
According to facebook replacement magazine bodies are being sent out.

It'll be a hard decision. Nobody has an M3K yet so final product tweaks are still unknown. According to PK, the loading port will be opened up more than shown during shot show but nobody knows how much more it's opened. Did you get a shipping estimate? If you need it fast, MOA could probably hook you up. If they're out you could also buy an m3000 and send it off to MOA to get worked on as well. If you end up keeping your preorder for the M3K, post up a in depth review and lots of pictures of it in this thread!

Perfect timing! ETA? I'd love to get one before season starts here.
-
It might just be the break in period. You were also using ammo that's notorious for not cycling in the m3000 as well. Try giving MOA a call and see what they think. If they built it I'm sure they wouldn't mind taking it in to tinker with it and see if there's a problem.

I would wait and try to find another M2 or pick up one on the classifieds.

Run what you got and see if it works for you. I took a $200 H&R pardner pump without an extension to my first match and still had a blast. Sure I wasn't at the top but it was my first match and I learned a ton. I shot all of last season borrowing shotguns from squadmates and friends until I got an m3000 of my own.

Welcome from north Denver!

I'm a smidge faster going left to right. I'm right handed and left eye dominant.

100% confirmed! My G34 shoots left! Now what do I do?

You can either change the sights out, send it back to glock, or just drift the rear sight. Mine is slightly drifted. -
I definitely second the above poster. Just show up to the match with what you got. My first match I practically had people throwing their gear at me. I used a different shell caddy every stage and got to see things I liked and disliked about everything which helped me when it was time to order. Heck, my buddy sent with me with only a rifle. Most people in the squad offered to let him shoot their guns if he didn't feel like using mine. It was kind of a shock to me how friendly everyone was being.

They aren't supposed to ship out into the end of March supposedly.

I used 200, 400, 600, then 2000 grit sandpaper in that order. Kept it nice and wet with rem oil and just kept going back and forth until it was uniform all the way around. Took me about half hour roughly by hand. Long nice even strokes with the sand paper wrapped around the tube. Edit: shooting the everloving piss out of it will polish it over time too.

How much practice to learn to quad load?
Punkface replied to joshxdm9's topic in Shotgun - Technical
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Start time how long it takes you to do a slow one well. Then work on getting that time down in small increments -
Im using a hiviz flame front sight and no rear at the moment. Planning on cutting a triangle notch though.
