  1. .345 for me. I started to get frustrated, but then I remembered that I am drunk.
  2. I feel the same way about women at bars. It makes me so angry when they don't tell me they're not what I thought they were!
  3. Hey Manu, I think you will find agreement that it is the number of rounds that gives the advantage to .40. In USPSA, target arrays are limited to 9 rounds. If you are only able to get 15 rounds in your mag, you will often have to reload between every array. Switch to .40 and you for sure get to shoot two arrays on one mag. I have only known one person who shoots .45 in USPSA Limited division. He made it to high B class at a club level and did very well there. I don't think there is a single top-level shooter anywhere shooting a .45 in Limited. I could be wrong. It sounds like you love the .45. So do I!
  4. Actually Subaru bought mine back because of unexplained grinding noise in very hard left turns. Near as I can tell, they threw close to 10k in parts and labor at it (not to mention the cost of putting me in a loaner). They replaced almost the entire drive-trian with no change. It didn't seem to affect drivability, but it was an ugly noise. They treated me very well and ended up giving me almost all my money back, including payments made. I have head of peopel having trouble with them. Mine was pro-tuned from day one, and I think that helps. The stock tune seems to be made for 93 oct. WIth just the tune and downpipe it put 341 lb/ft to the wheels on a pretty low reading mustang dyno. It was fun. My new one will be there later this week, and then I will start working out the supsension.
  5. Loan it to a friend and let him put the first scratches on it. When you get it back you won't care anymore.
  6. Nice rides! I like the rear wheel off the ground on your 08. I'm on my second 08 STI and loving it (the first one was bought back by Subaru). I had an 05 before that. Do you still have yours or did it get replaced by the Z06? I didn't get a chance to play with setup on the first one and only got to autocorss it twice. It had terrible understeer on really tight corners but felt pretty good on most of the course. Did you settle on a suspension setup you were happy with? I'm looking forward to next season. Trevor
  7. Yep, it was my first limited gun. I spent a lot more money on a new one, but it doesn't really shoot any better than the Edge.
  8. I shot a Springfield Armory Professional model for the first two years in this sport. The 20 lpi never gave me any trouble, and my hands aren't that tough. My advice is to buy what you like, play with it often, put up with sore hands for a few weeks and then enjoy the gun you love for the rest of its life.
  9. IMO there is nothing better than Blade Tech. There may me something just as good, but I've been very happy with all the Blade Tech products I've used. I shoot their holsters in every division but open, which I don't shoot. If you call and get someone who doesn't know what holster fits an STI with a LDC, just realize that this is only a small part of their business. Just like any other company, they have people who specialize in different products. As far as I know, Bobby McGee is the competition rep. I have always called and asked for him, and I have always gotten great CS.
  10. I've heard that shooting at the grip with a shotgun will stipple a metal framed gun quickly and easily. I have not tried it personally, but a good friend of mine told me it works great.
  11. Wow! It is a good thing my 7in gun will be ready in time for the match.
  12. Not sure why, but that is one of my all-time favorite looking blasters! V. nice.
  13. Whose music is that? Kinda catchy... Artist was Voxtrot, song was Soft and Warm, album was Mothers Sisters Daughters and Wives. Glad you liked it. T
  14. Shot this over the weekend in L10. FUN! Won the stage with a 14.085 in the match and then reshot it for a 15.78. Video of one of the string from the match is here:
  15. Check out VZ Grips. He supports USPSA and has his products on our prize tables from time to time. I have a set on my 1911 and am really happy with them. They are reasonably priced, but you might call him and see if he has any cosmetic seconds laying around that he could sell you for less. http://www.vzgrips.com/
  16. Did this today. 1.06 1.05 1.2 .94 .99 .99 .95 .93 .94 .95 Total: exactly 10 seconds. 49 points HF: 4.9 Limited, Blade Tech DOH I tried pushing hard on a few draws before recording these and ended up throwing a bunch of mikes. I guess 10 yards is just too far to point shoot in a rush. . I slowed down enough to see the sights, and this is what I ended up with. It was a really good lesson in where the limit is in pushing for speed beyond control.
  17. 3 hours! Don't buy a new car, buy a new house! Ha ha. Welcome.
  18. I use TG for everything from 9mm to .45. I try not to care if it is the best or not because if I do then I might be forced to spend more on something else. It pushes the bullet out of the gun, and I am also just too lazy to experiment with anything else. I've been using it from day one. .40--4.5g TG, 1.18 OAL, 180g Bear Creek molly .45--4.2g TG, 1.25 OAL, 230g Bear Creek molly 9mm--whatever I can find and TG to match per the chrono. I've heard of TG being dirty, but I don't have experience to compare it to anything else. I clean my gun about once every three matches. I've never had a malfunction because of a dirty gun, so.... M in L10 and Limited.
  19. You mean I have to pick a division? I have a hard time shooting the same division two matches in a row!
  20. For what it's worth... Jake made an earlier post about snapping the gun out of the holster. After watching the vids, it looks like you could gain some time there so that advice was right on. You might think about training yourself to react to the buzzer. If you are reacting at the end of the beep, you could gain 2 tenths by training to react to the start of the beep alone. Your surrender draw looks very smooth. Your hands at sides draw has an exaggerated motion coming up and then down on the gun. You could gain a bit of time by coming to the gun and getting rid of the exaggerated up/down motion. There are probably several schools of thought on this though. The top shooters I have watched on video seem to 1) jerk to the gun, 2) pause for grip, and 3) jerk to target. Take time where precision is important (the grip) and rush everything else. We run mostly field courses at my local clubs and the draw is usually part of some other action like taking the first step. I can pull sub 1 sec draws, but I don't remember the last time I felt like it was really important in a match. Getting a good grip and being balanced and set up to run the COF is much more important. I guess it is good to work on ALL skills, but your draw looks smooth and consistent. It won't help to sacrifice that for the sake of a few tenths on the first shot. You can easily make up those tenths on the first few transitions, not to mention points. Of course a fast AND consistent draw would be nice to have too.
  21. I guess I just wont believe the negatives about the RM until it happens to me. I have about 15k on mine with no problem.
  22. Hey Chuck, Is that order of overall finish or order of finish within each division? Do I need to borrow an open gun or can I shoot a revolver and still make out like a bandit? Last year's table was awesome so thanks for all the work you put in on it. Trevor
