  1. I will have to hold one in my hand before I make a judgement but if the specs I saw are correct; the G42 is 8 ounces lighter than a G26, unloaded. 13.76 ounces versus 21.71 ounces. I'm ambivalent about the .380 but would like something smaller than my G26 and I'm what you would call a Glock fan boy. : )
  2. I'm interested in the g42 .380 myself. May get one to replace the g26 for everyday carry.
  3. Does anybody else keep primers in their safe? I just have mine on a shelf in my reloading room.
  4. I have not kept up with these new fangled coatings. I run everything through a lube sizer. Seems like those tumble lube bullets would be the ticket for some kind of coating but that is purely a guess.
  5. The one with 6 grooves is what Lee calls a "tumble lube" bullet. I don't care for them, a lot of people do like them. How are you planning to lube or coat them?
  6. Based on talk here I recently got a pound to try. It works but I'm really not loving it so far. It doesn't meter very well through my measure and it soots my gun up worse than Bullseye.
  7. And poof, it was gone, in 10-15 minutes.
  8. Powder Valley has Winchester 231. Get it while its hot.
  9. I broke my strong hand thumb when I was a kid. Will never be able to reach a mag release button with it. A shame it didn't get bent the other way.
  10. I saw a video of that hickock45 guy on youtube shooting a glock 45 acp stoked with black powder... Wonder if pyrodex would work?
  11. If you watch this gunbot thing > http://www.gunbot.net/reloading/powder/ < Powder Valley seems to have less coming into inventory than anybody else. Don't know how accurate it is but maybe they are filling back orders or something.
  12. I've started looking for powder on gunbot lately. What is up with all this 50 BMG powder? I guess folks reloading for it would go through a lot of powder but seems like it would be a very small group.
  13. Don't know about compensator issues but 6.5 grains of Blue Dot is a good shooting load with 124 grain fmj in my g17.

    Glocks made in USA

I have a made in USA G17. I don't like the finish on the slide as well as the older ones. Have no idea if that is a USA thing or if they have changed it on all of them recently. No problems with it though.
  15. Other than the lefty versus righty confusion I thought it was real good.
  16. I got a case of CCI small pistol primers not long ago at all and just finished up the first thousand. No failures for me. My Glock has no problem with rifle primers of any brand either.
  17. Somewhere I remember reading an opinion that if you shot a ten shot group off hand, threw out some number of the worst shots, you would have about the equivalent of a machine rest group. Anybody agree with this? Best seven out of ten? Not really talking about a group with some gross flyers, just a decent, reasonably dispersed, group.
  18. As far as the trigger; the couple of Glocks I own, the trigger smoothed out a good bit after a few hundred rounds. Also, you can put a minus connector in it without spending much money at all.
  19. What about Blue Dot? I don't load 38 Super but it has worked well for me in other cartridges. Seems like the burn rate should be about right.
  20. The 48th Lyman manual says 2.8 to 3.5 for their gas check bullet #356637. They report a velocity of 780 fps with the 2.8 grain load and 942 fps with the 3.5 grain load.
  21. No data in any of my manuals for 3n38. If you look at the data here for the .40 S&W I think we can extrapolate that 3n38 is a good bit slower than 3n37. http://www.lapua.com/en/products/reloading/vihtavuori-reloading-data/relodata/6/25 I have loaded a bunch of 9mm with n340 and think that works very well.
  22. Maybe it's what they call n32c now? C for Cowboy. They have data for it in that section on their website...
  23. The Gold Dot is a jacketed hollow point. Speer lists a start load of 5.7 grains and a max of 6.4. OAL at 1.120

    glock 26

I have what I think of as medium large hands and I don't have any problems at all shooting with the stumpy grip. Don't try to get my pinky on the grip but tuck it under the bottom. My g26 is the only gun I have with night sights so it serves as carry gun and nightstand gun. Keep a +p Gold Dot chambered all the time, put a loaded ten round magazine in it when I leave home and a loaded 17 shot magazine in it when I get home and return it to the nightstand.
