  1. I let my USPSA membership lapse and will not shoot any matches in the future that require such.
  2. I think that would be a perfect solution if their scores were in a separate division in practiscore and were then deleted from the upload to SCSA. I have not asked directly but I assume that the people who regularly shoot the "novice" division where I shoot want to know their scores without having to write it down themselves after every run.
  3. SCSA MISSION STATEMENT – Our mission is to promote safe, fair and fun participation in Steel Shooting competition, for members of all ages and skill levels, through effective leadership, education, communication and administration. We have 8 different divisions for centerfire pistols which is about six too many. Why not have a separate division for people that want to shoot a centerfire pistol but don't feel comfortable drawing from a holster? It seems like a better solution than just omitting their USPSA number like you suggest. I sure wish Glen hadn't affiliated. I think I'm getting real close to being done with steel challenge.
  4. One novice division for anybody that wants to shoot a centerfire pistol from low ready. At the monthly match I shoot there are usually 2-5 people shooting it every month. In comparison there are probably 2-5 revolver entries per year. It seems wrong to misrepresent people's scores in publicly published results whether they are used for classification or not.
  5. That seems like a poor solution. If SCSA can support unofficial stages why not unofficial divisions?
  6. Put a “novice” division in practiscore.
  7. What is the rule in USPSA matches for a shooter that is unable to move from one shooting position to the next?
  8. I’m a B class production shooter, 2 seconds per string is about the break even point for me. I think the penalty should be a standard 3 second procedural per string.
  9. The rules say the range master can do whatever he wants in this regard. The 2018 rules on the SCSA website.
  10. Most shoot 9mm but no reason not to shoot what you want if you aren’t in contention to win fame and fabulous prizes.
  11. Hypothetically: RO gives some people a nice smooth cadence on the commands and start beeep, others he varies it as if he were trying to to throw them off?
  12. Assuming that all commonly used timers have that function I would be fine with the timer set to random. It’s how I practice.
  13. Any opinions on when the RO has been giving the commands at a fairly consistent cadence and then out of the blue goes much faster or much slower?
  14. It seems simple to me. The RO tells the shooter to aim at the cone. The shooter then has three options, A. aim at the cone and shoot, B. get mad and go home, C. get a DQ for refusing to comply with the RO and then go home really mad.
  15. Centerfire pistol should be two divisions. Irons or Optics. Use any safe holster configuration you like. Revolver: don't care Rimfire and PCC: make them have production, limited and open divisions, if the centerfire divisions can't be consolidated.
  16. Yes, steel challenge has way too many divisions.
  17. They also have a good Steel Challenge match on the second Saturday. Some of you USPSA shooters could come out and show us how it's done.
  18. Zero bullets via Roze Distribution.
  19. I think that if people got video of their super fast draw and looked at it frame by frame; many would see that they are getting on the trigger a lot sooner in the draw stroke than they thought.
  20. Did ya'll require a minimum number of shooters in a class to give awards? I noticed that for one of your bronze medals there were only three people in your class. : )
  21. I clean my Glock once a month, right before the first of two monthly matches. Sometimes a fairly detailed cleaning and sometimes just a quick wipe. I generally shoot about a thousand rounds per month, matches and practice. It's just a part of getting ready for the match for me. I have no interest in seeing how long it can go between cleanings and sure don't want to find out during a match. I very rarely clean the bore and whenever I do I think that was a big waste of effort since nothing much comes out. I only shoot plated and jhp.
  22. I like the way you think. I'm curious what people think is going to happen if one does go off, assuming you don't have an open container of gasoline or black powder next to your bench. I loaded some with one of those Lee kits when I was a teenager. The kind where you beat the primer in with a mallet. I popped quite a few with that thing, still have all fingers and eyes.
  23. For matches it would be wonderful to integrate the practiscore tablet and the shot timer into one device. Something no larger than the original Pocket Pro timer. Seems like it would be very easy to do if the demand were just higher.
  24. Push your tongue hard against the roof of your mouth. I read it here, sounds stupid, helped me a lot.
  25. No problem to push them out. I probably wouldn't use one for an important match but I've never had one fail to go off after reinstalling it right side up.
