  1. As scores age they eventually drop off so that your current percentage could be different than your high percentage. My Limited, Production, and Open classifications are like that. Once a time is over 3 years old we exclude it from consideration.
  2. PST values were wrong. I was updating my personal spreadsheet and got depressed quickly. As it turns out I don’t suck quite as bad as I thought I did.
  3. Thanks for the input you guys have pointed out some things I hadn't considered. My personal preference is to have RO's move with the squad. I like this especially for SC State match because it's a smaller tier 2 and I try to keep fees as low as possible I recruit RO's by letting them shoot during each session. So far I've found the squads more than willing to help out with assisting the RO so he/she has a chance to shoot as they proceed through the stages. One good thing about remaining stationary is you can always send competitors over to an empty stage should you start to run behind schedule.
  4. 2019 PST Breakdown.pdf I found a mistake with RFRO last night. Updated PDF attached.
  5. Just curious to know which you prefer as a competitor and RO. I’ll share may preferred method later after some of you have replied.
  6. How would you guys propose we fix the problem? We all make mistakes. I was running a guy at TN State and accidentally short beeped him bad. Really bad as in stand b (beep). After his run and before calling out his time I told him I short beeped him and offered him the option to reshoot the string. In my mind it all goes back to customer service. As a match official the competitor is my customer and I will do all I can to make sure the customer has a good experience.
  7. PractiScore currently supports teams so you could do what you describe. Donna and I will be shooting with my brother and his wife so maybe I’ll set up team Jones versus Team Jones and see how it goes.
  8. Best GUESS is early to mid April at South River.
  9. Talk with the MD and maybe propose 3/3 and volunteer to help. As a MD I can tell you we love volunteers to help with setup.
  10. That’s understandable. We added this to accommodate some clubs that can only set up some of the smaller stages due to berm limitations. While Steel Challenge is primarily shot here in the USA we do have foreign clubs that can’t run all of the stages. We have one that can only run 3 stages period. I do enjoy the variety of stages but if you are going to do that don’t just flip flop the plate sizes on Smoke & Hope and expect me to get all excited about it. For me 6 stages is just about right for club match. One month run 4 official and 2 fun and next month run the other 4 official stages. That way competitors get to shoot all 8.
  11. At club matches you can run as many made up stages as you want as long as you run 2 official ones.
  12. No thank you. It’s not something I’d ever shoot.
  13. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean every lower class competitor will start shooting from the center box. My wife is one who will likely start shooting from the center box. She is not comfortable moving from box to box no matter how many times we practice it. The best advice I can pass along is to contact your area director and express your opinion. I provide mine as a competitor and as National Program Coordinator but ultimately it’s the BoD that approves the rules. We want to start 2019 with the best set of rules we can. Feel free to cc me zack@uspsa.org on any emails.
  14. If I were king, which I am obviously not, I would either (1) remove the movement from Outer Limits or (2) replace it with a new stage. By removing the movement the stage essentially becomes a long range Showdown, with obvious exceptions such as not shooting from two boxes, etc.. I would be more inclined to replace it with something that doesn’t require 35 yard bay to set it up in. I have found the close, fast stages are ones that people comment on and like shooting.
  15. Yes. I have one. It should be formatted for printing in landscape format. 2019 PST Breakdown.pdf
  16. If next year is anything like this year Donna and I will put another 20,000+ miles on our Honda Pilot traveling around to matches. At a minimum we'll be at the following: US Steel Shoot (aka US Steel Nationals) - Most like late March or April. Date not yet set WSSC - May Area 5 - July. I like that range. I shoot well there for some reason.
  17. I just happened to be browsing Enos on the web site instead of using TapaTalk and just now saw this. PS Web can now generate the file for SCSA results upload. It works very well. I used it yesterday to upload the results from the TN State Steel Challenge match from last weekend.
  18. Correct. Total time for the stages you have shot is what we use. The single best time is used. This way if you shoot Smoke & Hope at 12 seconds at your first match and then have a bad run and shoot an 18 the 18 is ignored. On the other hand should you shoot an 11 it will replace the 12 and your percentage will go up.
  19. I am not a doctor nor do I play one at the range. I am not qualified to determine the extent of disability a competitor may have or say they have. Adding 3 seconds per string for center box starts you at 9 seconds. Can you shoot sub 2 second strings from that box? I don’t know if I can.
  20. Primary divisions are PCCO and RFRO. I shoot some RFPO, Open and PCCI. I don’t practice like I should so I guess that’s why I’ve yet to make GM. I am classified in 11 of 13 divisions.
  21. It’s likely to drop from 4 to 3 so we can just apply a standard procedural for scoring. Also any competitor can shoot from center box and take 3 if you choose.
  22. 4 stages is the minimum needed for classification. Since you shot all 8 we use all 8.
  23. Next time that happens don’t shoot. Turn to the RO and say “I didn’t not hear Are you ready? So I was not prepared for this string. Kindly restart me with Are you Ready?”
  24. I have a 2011 but really want a 1911 open blaster. The primary reason is similar grip size as my Scorpion 22 and also because I want to be like Max, BJ, and Jessie who all shoot Single Stack Open guns.
