  1. Applying pressure with the heel of yours palm as you trigger the shot. Opposite of milking. Only good repetitions will fix it.
  2. Not something to correct this late for that match. I had the same issue for quite some time. Was due to lack of practice with proper technique. It's an issue of getting used to isolating the weak hand trigger finger. Takes practice and repetition.
  3. Yes same number of stages fewer shooters per squad.
  4. To all of my Revolver Buddies, we have 1 week until the 2024 USPSA Free State Championships, held on August 31st, are open on Practice Score https://practiscore.com/free-state-kansas-championship-2024/register. Do not know how fast it will fill up, but the last monthly USPSA Match sold out? This year the plans are for a Staff Reset Match, depending on luring in enough RO's, the squads will be a maximum of 8 competitors and there will be an AM and PM Flight on Saturday (Staff only on Friday). If it works out you won't have to do anything but Shoot your Revolver and your vocal cords while telling tall tales and whatnot. I promise to listen more this year, so bring some good stories! There will be no tear down as they are leaving the COF's up for a separate USPSA match on Sunday, $25 to $30 for a 2nd shot at the stages, and tear down will be done then. Random draw prizes will be done at some point, just not sure of the format yet. Awards may be mailed out. The last few years we had 14 Revolvers, give or take a few, I'm hoping to increase that amount in '24!
  5. Yes, it is at the MCRC. The next weekend after the Area 3 SC we start up this years ICORE matches at the same range https://practiscore.com/april-mill-creek-icore/register.
  6. Yes been at this since 1978.
  7. And bianchi requires the flag be left in.
  8. In 38 short colt i use a maximum taper crimp of .370 on coated bullets without going over the ogive. Usually I crimp at 368 with no tumbling and no accuracy issues.
  9. Try loading the 160 deep and use a taper crimp slightly over the ogive of the bullet.
  10. It's all a balancing act between the mainspring and rebound spring.
  11. You can use 38 short colts in the 929 as is. The case head expands a bit more than usual. The little I played with one that case expansion was able to be sized out and reloaded for use in my 627. Don't know if repeated firings would change that or affect case life. The 929 i did this with was a buddies and is documented in a uspsa front sight article 2 years ago. It had been set up by tk and had their usual chamfer and action work. You use the moon clip combination you would use for 38 short colts in a 627 too.
  12. The more we pull off the side plate the more things can go wrong. Once my trigger is set and smoothed out I now try to just add a bit of oil through the hammer window. So when you pull your trigger, do you try to stroke it smoothly or slam it back as fast as you can?
  13. The only reason to use shims is if the hammer is rubbing on the frame, usually it is the side away from the side plate. If you're running a 15# rebound spring and a hammer fall weight over 48 ounces rubbing on the frame won't cause any issues. Take the cupped shim out and don't replace it. Shoot it and see how it goes.
  14. Does it have this hitch in dry fire, or only during live firing? Did you put empty cases in the chambers when you tightened the loose ejector rod? Never had to use loc tite on an ejector rod?
  15. Do any of the studs have a wiggle to them with side plate off?

It refers to allowing a spurless hammer in a revolver to have the trigger pulled slightly to check that the cylinder is not binding. If you have a spur on the hammer you can slightly cock it and check cylinder rotation. Peacemaker type revolvers have almost never been used in uspsa, and their older versions had a half cock notch that allowed the cylinder to rotate freely to load chambers. As revoman stated it has its problems and is not something I do, but it is allowed.

10.5.9 Failure to keep the finger outside the trigger guard during loading, reloading, or unloading. Exception: while complying with the “Make Ready” command to lower the hammer of a gun without a decocking lever, or while initially loading a revolver with a spurless hammer. If you go too far and a round is fired, it is a DQ.

I liken a pre performance routine as opening the door to my sub conscious abilities, where all the needed points hide.

On My 325 when I close the cylinder it seems to be able to rotate a couple of chambers on first closing? Don't see why, it shoots great and is actually the most accurate revolver i have. Have only shot it in idpa and edc. So I don't have a habit of checking for it on my other competition revolvers. The one habit i do have is i close my eyes and mentally pantomime shooting the course, this sets the shooting order and engagement order. Takes only a few seconds, but it helps the old brain function better.
  21. I was told jhps are more accurate due to the compression used to form the HP removes all voids in the base. If you can find a sp like mgolds 142 jp in 125, or even try them if you can get an order through.
  22. Holsters.

You are correct you don't need a holster for Rimfire. The problem is the reloads on a field course, need some way to carry them.
