  1. I too read all I could find on he 650 before I bought. I had a bit higher learning curve as I never reloaded before. Thanks to Dillon's DVD and utube it got me going. I have nothing to compair to but love my 650
  2. You just don't find companies like this anymore. Makes you hope they never sell the company. I'm glad they make enough money to be able to provide such after the sale service.
  3. I was like you. I shot a lot but never got into reloading until the ammo shortage scare a couple years ago. Had a friend with the 550. I decided if I was getting one I want to get a 650 and I did. There are a lot of videos on utube about it. You won't be dissapointed. Keep me in mind. As one newbie to another ill try to help you. I received a lot of help here. It's a great group of guys
  4. I heard Dillon is putting out new DVDs. Can you tell us when? Thanks
  5. You all have some nice wives! Especially the one that bought for hubby to have more snuggle time.
  6. Stealthy, your lucky. I'd be spending money every time I stopped by if I lived that close.
  7. My only problem is getting through. Once I get someone on line I've never had anyone be nasty to me. I'll never forget when I got my 650 and the handle kept hitting slightly the spent primer cup. This guy spent a good 30 minutes with me before asking for a photo of the problem. I sent it, he called right back, dummy me had it on backwards. Boy did I feel like the dummy.
  8. I too swear on Dillon case lube. I don't know what the cost difference is between it and Hornady that some use. Doesn't matter the cost to me as I've found Dillon to work the best so I stay with it.
  9. Rocco, I too use corncob media after loaded for about 20-30 minutes.
  10. Use the Dillon lube. Most everybody swears by it.
  11. I put about 75 rounds through my FNH FNX 45 cal with a Trijicon mini dot scope and when done the screws were still tight. Thanks to all but I'm gonna keep it dry unless I have probs.
  12. Razor fish where did the spacer go. Do you remember what the part was called? Thanks
  13. Thanks Morris, I think I'll take your advice and try without anything and see if the two very small screws stay put.
  14. Just looking to mount a small red dot to a 1911. Obviously need protection from vibration.
  15. I know there are several kinds. I want he kind that secure the screw thread but can still get it out if necessary. Thanks
  16. Like I said toss the Carthage in the garbage and sleep well.
  17. I have a little garbage can below my bench. Toss em in the garbage.
  18. I went From nothing and no experience to a 650. Sure glad I did. There's no thinking did I get the right thing. I reload 223, 308, 30-30, 380, 9mm, 40 cal, 45 ACP. I went all out, have sepert tool heads and powder hoppers for each. Really cuts time to change calibers. I figured I was doing this once and did it right. A year ago when I did this I was on the phone with a Dillon rep who took about 1/2 hour and helped me get everything and every accessory I needed or would ever want. Cost me around 3k but worth every penny.
  19. Been a competition shooter for 30 years both in the Marines and the Police Bureau but never had to reload. The Armorer always took care of that stuff for me. I found with my 650 I needed the Dillon DVD and watched all the videos on utube. The manual helped but I could not be loading with jus it.
  20. I lived on utube waiting for my 650. Had no prior experience reloading. There's tons out there and I bet if you watched the 650 videos as well as 550 you will learn a lot.
  21. I have a friend that has a 550. I played with it a couple times. I wanted to outdo him and got the 650. I'm really glad I did it. There's just no compairison between two.
