  1. Makes sense, I would assume one would not need 5 pouches like I run in Production? I have an extra belt and boss hanger plus holster because I do not feel like taking my production ones off back and forth as I finally got them set exactly where I want. 3 should be sufficient as seems that is how many most Limited shooters run.
  2. Hey guys and gals, what mag pouches are you running for Limited. I have only ever shot production so that's what I know. I run the Ghost pouches bullets out. I believe you can run your mag pouches differently in Limited so asking your experiences. I want to stick with bullets out. Has anyone used the DAA Racer mag pouches? The racemasters are just a little too pricey for me. Do the Racers allow you to tilt the mags? Any input appreciated. Gump
  3. I own a Limited in .40 and although I've never shot a Stock III, I have a pretty good imagination and a lot of guns to help me extrapolate I predict the Stock III in .40 and the Limited in .40 will behave very similarly: the Stock III has a full rail so in theory the frame should weigh slightly more (this is mitigated, I suspect, by and oval shaped cut on the inside of the rail like the Match, so it may be almost the same); the Limited has a cone barrel and the Stock III has a straight barrel, so the barrel of the Limited weighs slightly more. Since the barrel and the frame are both static weights, it could very well wash out an the two would be indistinguishable. So it's really just a toss up. I'll agree that the Stock III could be more versatile in DA/SA trim because you could start cocked and locked in Limited or hammer down in Production, but it sounds like you have your Production bases covered with your Stock IIs Thanks Atlas, just trying to utilize what I got. Guess technically I can just get some basepads and roll;-) Sent from my flux capacitor
  4. I have a new Stock III in .40 and I am thinking of using it for USPSA Limited. I was going to shoot it in Production in .40 minor but the Tanfoglio fairy is delivering another Stock II so I plan on using it along with the Stock II that I presently have in Production. My question is how much of a disadvantage if any would using a Stock III in Limited be without the slide cuts? I can install a magwell I would think along with a Henning flat trigger making it SAO plus I don't want to go thru the hassle of trying to sell the Stock III and get a Limited. Anyone that can share their thoughts, opinions, or experiences would be appreciated. Gump
  5. Atlas, I think your inbox may be FULL, can't send you a PM Sent from my flux capacitor
  6. Posting porn like that should be forbidden, lol. My Production trio should be complete by months end and it'll be time to start on Limited and Open Tanfos;-) Sent from my flux capacitor
  7. Thank you.... But it could be yours:) Very very tempting but I have to thin the herd of Tanfos first before a new edition can come:-) Sent from my flux capacitor
  8. Would you be interested in any trades for the Limited? Such as a Stock I in 9mm or a Stock III in .40?
  9. Federal primers are your friend when it comes to a tuned Tanfoglio in my opinion. I think the 14# hammer spring with a coil cut is a good choice as it seems to give my Stock II just a tad more power than the 13# spring yet still can keep a good trigger pull weight. I think the best thing is just try different combinations and test fire them and go with reliablility first then do what you can to lighten the trigger pull
  10. What is a SP01? What's a Shadow......:-) Sent from my flux capacitor
  11. Email Amidon, I'm sure he'd be happy to provide you with the info that's posted here Sent from my flux capacitor
  12. From what I understand USPSA considers 9mm and 38 to be "the same caliber" in some sense and that's why you can put a 9mm barrel on a 38 frame and still be Production legal. This stemmed from the $3,000 Stock III that came up for sale here I guess around a month ago and had 38 on slide but was in 9mm and Amidon had said in not those exact words that USPSA considers them the same in this sense. Take it FWIW
  13. Has anyone seen or have a Stock II or III Extreme model in the US? I think honestly once one does a trigger job the rest of the differences are simply cosmetic with the different color schemes and ceramic coatings. Just was curious if they ever made it over here......... Sent from my flux capacitor
  14. I got my one piece sear in and course with the Eric hammer I have to remove material from the leg that allows safety to engage. Anyone have any measurements with calipers on how much material is needed to remove to make safety engage? Sent from my flux capacitor
  15. Where'd you get the trigger from Gump? J and L Gunsmithing Sent from my flux capacitor
  16. DHF, yes the BOSS is 10x better than the TekLok, I think it's worth every penny. It sits off straight and much more comfortable.
  17. I installed the Xtreme DA trigger today on my Stock II and so far with just dry firing it I'm happy. It didn't change the weight as far as I know but the shape and curve feels better. Both DA and SA feel shorter. Sent from my flux capacitor
  18. Just FYI for anyone needing a saddle for their Stock III Unicorn, the pro shop now has these in stock along with a great deal for the holster and BOSS hanger together. The hanger is truly awesome. http://www.benstoegerproshop.com
  19. You can get the one piece from J&L, where I got mine last week Sent from my flux capacitor
  20. I've gotten a few pair of the factory wood grips from around here on Enos. I got as many as I could just to have spares cuz I couldn't find in stock online anywhere. You could call Jim jones at J&L gunsmithing, he seems to have a lot of Tanfo parts in stock Sent from my flux capacitor
  21. So when you say "fit the sear" what steps do you mean? Rubbing down the part of sear that allows safety to go up or actually rubbing down the leg/nub on the safety where they engage? Does that make sense? Sent from my flux capacitor
  22. I have been working bit by but on my new Stock III and I put a CZ TRS spring and the Eric Hammer in last night. Both made significant improvement on the trigger pull as far as smoothness and lighter DA pull. After I installed it I noticed the safety wasn't engaging and realized the new one piece sear is needed. Other than making the safety function properly, will the one piece sear have any effect on the trigger? Any suggestions or experiences you have would be appreciated Sent from my flux capacitor
  23. Well I tested some .40 minor loads yesterday. As far as PF the chrono was not reading properly. The one I used was an older model from an older shooter but will chrono with one of the newer CEDs soon. The recoil seemed pretty soft with the 155, 175 SWC, and 180 Bayous. I did notice that I had some feeding issues with the 175 SWC. I researched last night and seems that others have had feeding issues with SWC out of Tanfos. Anyone here had that? I'm thinking just the shape has something to do with it. Sent from my flux capacitor
  24. I know Atlas, I meant to take pics last night so I will tonight to show the differences. It is only in the rear of the trigger bar where the disco sits. Kahai, J&L Gunsmithing did my trigger job on my Stock II. I also am not brave enough yet to start removing material but wanted to know the significance that the difference in the two trigger bars may possess. I will get some pics up after work today guys
