Just saw this on gunbroker. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=158469621 It's my gun, bought 200 rounds thru it. 30 moonclips, miculek grip, sdm gold bead front site, and nice trigger job. Aluminum case as well. Robert m.
  3. Merrells or Keens. In thick texas mud, nothing works. I gave up on cleats a long time ago.
  4. thanks, i just found that site as well. I sent them an email. we'll see what they say robert mullan
  5. anyone know of a manufacturer that will make a 6.5 creedmore upper for an Armalite Ar-10? I can't seem to find any. Thanks for your help. RM
  6. Frank, Widmer has been using solo for some time. I just started to use it. i'm using a 180 moly bullet. i'll see if i can find some 165's. robert
  7. I did the life membership on a payment plan. ours is cheap compared to other life memberships. As much as i was putting into the sport, it seemed like the right thing to do.
  8. Pretty simple fix. just file a little of the material of the grip safety that is above the trigger bow when safety is depressed. just take a little at a time. easy way to check is to have the top end removed, mainspring housing and sear spring removed and look down through the magazine tunnel to get an idea of how much and where to remove.
  9. Good surgeons will charge about 4K for both eyes. ICL will run you 6K, as each lens runs about 1k ea. Don't skimp on the price or the surgeon. for lasik you want the most up to date wavefront technology...look up z-lasik. For ICL (Intra collamer lens, STAAR) you want someone who has done over 200, and ask what types of complictions and numbers they have had.
  10. Bear are you saying that a heavier slide increases the felt recoil? Yep. More mass=retained energy..
  11. Nothing will eat up time more than a standing reload, even more so with a dry gun. I rarely plan on shooting 20 rounds without a mag change. Especially if there are alot of US poppers or plates on the course of fire, 1 or 2 misses and you are hosed. A mag change while moving takes no time at all. Never overload a mag as it will not function and you end performing a mag change anyway.
  12. 100% genuine frontier gibberish

  13. I bought an X-5 last year to tinker with. the gun is beautiful, well made and is dead nuts accurate. They are HEAVY, Slide inertia is quite noticeable with much felt recoil, even with USPSA major loads. I want to shoot mine, i just need to address the magazine capacity issues and have the gun lightened up. I assume gray's gun does work on the beavertail to thin them up and allow a higher grip? Does he get rid of the 2 piece guide rod? Or is there anyone that can do this work at a reasonable price? RM
  14. The change out times for the 550 and 650 are comparable, both take me about 10 minutes. If i have to change to the large primer system, it will add another 15 minutes, less so for the 550. If you are shooting the 1200 rounds per month you say, the 550 should work just fine. If you increase that to 2K i'd get the 650 with the case feeder. Will you just be shooting 9mm? I have both of these units, they work great. Get plenty of primer tubes.
  15. I used to use a Ghost, now i just use a Blade tech DOH. On awkward stages I would; 1. lock the holster (tab down) 2. get my hand on the gun as soon as possible. 3.don't run with the gun holstered, have it in your hand. you are going use it anyway. Stages that require sitting starts are problematic, the outward pressure of your leg can push the gun out of a ghost or other race holsters. this nearly happened to me at nats a couple of years ago.
  16. Try metanx, its a prescription b6, b12 and l-methyl folic acid supplement. do not take the substitute. ask your doc for a script. taken twice daily. I use it as a first line for neuropathy and high homocysteine levels. Diabetics have high homocysteine levels which greatly increases your cardiac risk.
  17. I know that Don bednorz ran something like that for while. Though i think he was shooting minor loads. I'll ask him the next time i run into him.
  18. Gas mileage in the neighborhood of the SUX2000. Neighbor has one, she likes it, If you need a smaller SUV it seems to be ok.
  19. I had one of these. Nice gun, but it was very tight. it would not feed some 10mm ammo reliably, PMC, hornady. Once i put 500 rounds through it, it functioned better. They have very tight chambers, i polished the lower portion of the chamber and ramp on the barrel. I did not remove any metal, only polished. this took care of the problem. good luck. They make a nice carry gun.
  20. I think if i need medical advice i can just pull out my copy of Harrisons, or walk down 2 doors from my practice to my Primary care doc. this is the last place i would look.
  21. I suspended several of our matches over the summer due to lack of help. After 2 months a few shooters came to me to help out. It seemed to have lit the fire under several of our members and now we have a nice turnout to help set up. we are unable at our range to set up the night before as it is an open public range. We do two matches a month, uspsa and a steel challenge match. A majority of guys just want to show up, shoot and leave. that will never change, keep the core group of volunteers happy, and try to work others into the program. It all comes down to new shooters coming into the sport.
  22. shot last saturday. singlestack, 3.02 clean. Shot T1, popper, T2, then T3.
  23. I had to do tons of dry fire with revos when i shot them.
