  1. The new ImpactX-2 lens transitions from Clear to Color depending on the lighting conditions, so you can use one lens for indoor and outdoor. I love this feature. Right but I guess my question is if the racing red is preferred to say a gray transition lens and why?
  2. I need some new mag pouches. Ghost seems pretty good and good bang for the buck. The race masters are just cool. Worth it? I've heard that they are good for limited and open guns but not production because they take up so much room. I like that you can do bullets out with both because I want to experiment with that.
  3. I just ordered parts from Ben Stoeger's shop and got a .120 tall sight. With the stock sights, and the rear cranked down, it shoots low. I like more of a 6'clock sight picture and I hear that the .120 tall is made for keeping the rear sight low. The .160 from what I understand is if you like to hit behind the fiber optic.
  4. Here in the heart of Texas, I drive 90 min one-way to USPSA matches. 45-min is a steal. No no. 1 hour and 45 minutes lol. It's like 85 miles away. May be worth it.
  5. Exact pair and lenses that I use. They really make the fiber optic pop, and the targets stand out. Good for outdoor and indoor shooting? Saw these on the site and am tempted.
  6. Thoughts? Feel free to PM me. New to the area and that's my closest option.
  7. ETA. Nvm on those Monday USPSA matches. Being cancelled. Sucks because the club is is 5 miles away. After digging more looks like the only option for USPSA now is twice a month on Sunday's but the place is an hour and 45 minutes away. So over 3 hours of travel each time to shoot. Doable I guess but not ideal.
  8. I think I found a club that shoots USPA once per month so I may get to keep this beast. They do an outdoor match once a month too but wouldn't be able to do that due to work schedule. But if I can shoot the Stock 2 at least once a month I'd be happy.
  9. A Dan Wesson pointman 9 might be a fun ESP gun too.
  10. I know. I was shooting USPSA before I moved. I think there's a couple clubs further away that do USPSA on weekends. But Tuesday IDPA is very convenient for me.
  11. I'm pretty sure that technically this gun isn't supposed to be legal for IDPA right? I'm new to IDPA but think I'm going to start shooting it because that's what the local clubs do here on a weekly basis. I just picked up a stock 2 on a whim, shot it yesterday, and think that it can turn out to be a fantastic comp gun. (I typically shoot glocks.) Now this local club seems pretty informal from what I've seen being there and on youtube. So I emailed them to see if they shoot all the divisions or just lump everyone together. All I was told was to show up and I'll shoot whatever class I'm supposed to be in. Ok, but if the stock 2 isn't legal how can I be put in a division? What's everyone's experience with this? I'm debating whether I should order the parts for the stock 2 and have my gunsmith tune it. I'd hate to do that and then be told that I can't shoot after putting time and effort in to the platform. So do I get a holster for the stock 2 and show up or should I think about another blaster?
  12. The pro ears looks really good. I like the NRR of the bigger ones but they looks so bulky. The slim ones look a lot more comfortable and still offer good protection. Definitely going to try one of them though thanks.
  13. I read an extensive article once, and basically they are the only company that doesn't lie about their NRR rating. Most companies publish the NRR rating at a certain frequency or something that isn't realistic at all. Conclusion of the story was that the MSA's have the same amount of noise reduction as companies claiming 30+. Also, the cost is due to the electronics used and the build quality and comfort.
  14. I think I'm going to try the .120 tall dawson. My rear sight is cranked all the way down, exactly how it came from the factory and I like it that way. But with the stock front sight I shoot pretty low. I like a 6'clock hold so hoping the .120 works out.
  15. Henning or EGD Xtreme? With the EGD medium mainspring and firing pin spring. I believe the Xtreme firing pin is heavier than stock? Seems kind of counterintuitive to me. And the henning is lighter.
  16. I do a lot of indoor shooting and have tried different types of ear pro. I've been disappointed by electronic hearing pro. Howard Leight Impacts IMO are terrible. Don't deal well and don't block anything. Haven't tried MSA's yet but I hear mixed things so hesitant to buy some. My favorite pair so far has been cheap Browning buckmarks. They seal extremely well and block a ton of noise. Very uncomfortable though. So is there a good set of passive muffs that have gel cups or something? I typically double up too. Foam plugs to protect the inner ear and muffs for the mid ear.
  17. There is a company called ram rodz I believe that makes basically giant q tips for barrel cleaning. One of the .22 caliber ones might be good for polishing the firing pin channel.
  18. This is what scares me about the stock 2 and makes me wonder if I should even mess with my brand new once since I do t reload.
  19. Not sure if I should get rydons or genetyks. Tough without trying them on first. The photochromatic clear lens looks good.
  20. The 147g out of a 34 is fantastic. I shot the Atlanta arms stuff next to federal 147g and there is a very noticeable difference. I've read that the federal chronos 100fps faster. Atlanta has been out of the 147g reload stuff though. Big price difference between that and the new brass stuff. Like 5 bucks a box.
  21. I did more dry firing with the stock 2 today to see if I'm going to make the effort and shoot it and get the trigger lighter or stick with glocks. I like the weight. As of now I honestly prefer the ergos of a Glock. I like the hump and how easily it allows you to keep your hand driven high up in the beavertail. With the stock 2 I always feel like I can't get high enough on the grip.
  22. A Glock 22 with a frame weight and heavy magwell sounds like a lot of fun. Hmm.
  23. I'm making the switch now from a 34 to a stock II. Haven't even shot the stock 2 yet and haven't made any mods. I think the biggest thing to get used to will be the reset. I love glock's reset. Also, I'm getting pinched on my finger between the trigger and frame when the hammer breaks. This is during dry fire. Maybe because the trigger is so heavy right now I use more trigger finger, but it's annoying. Also, ergos. The placement of the safety is a bit weird to me. If you ride the safety with the thumb it doesn't allow me to get as high of a grip as possible. Minor stuff.
  24. How tight are the barrels supposed to be when the slide is locked open? are they supposed to be real tight or do they have a lot of play?
