    Gen 3 17

Scored a new Gen 3 17 last week. They don’t come around here often. All my other Glocks are Gen 5s at this point. I think I’m going to set up this 17 for IDPA. What should I do trigger wise? I’m a fan of the stock trigger but it’s a little heavy. Minus connector, extra power trigger spring, and a lighter striker spring? I know the extra power trigger springs didn’t work real well in the Gen 4s. Generally not a fan of minus connectors because I like to keep it as crisp as possible but I think the Gen 3s are more forgiving to them just because of the better geometry and all.
  2. 223 JP at my shop. Looks pretty standard JP but it has a proof research barrel on it. Dude that works there is like yea JP uses them exclusively. I was like ummm but didn’t say anything lol. Has a lightweight carrier. Don’t think it has adjustable gas either. Doesn’t even look like it’s been shot, if much at all. I’m half tempted to buy it but that barrel gives me hesitation. What do you think? Hard to judge without pics I know but... might be able to stop by tomorrow and get a pic or two.
  3. I’m torn about getting the 5.5” or the 14.5”. Flatter shooting vs faster transitions. Wish I could handle both but I have to buy one blind.
  4. Is that the 14.5 barrel or the 5.5” with shroud?

    X5 Alpha

Haven’t seen a thread on this yet? steel frame X5.
  6. Looks cool. I’d probably prefer this over the q5 sf, even for competition so I’ll def check one out. Only thing I don’t like it their backstrap at the top. It’s wide and can irritate the thumb knuckle but otherwise this is gonna be sweet.
  7. I’m going to try that in my carry Glock that’s all stock just to see what the difference is. I need to grab a channel liner tool.
  8. Think there’s anything coming out at SHOT? Didn’t Max say he has a signature model coming in 2020?
  9. Saw that. I don’t get the ported models because they aren’t legal in anything but I guess people like them for range plinkers.
  10. Which one of these is preferred? https://benstoegerproshop.com/jp-rifles-gmr-15-9mm-competition-pcc-carbine/ https://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/JP-GMR-15-Rifle-UltraLight-P5659.aspx
  11. came to post exactly this. All the gen 5 needs is a reduced striker string to match a reduced recoil spring and you are good. if you wanted to be really anal (hehe), you could get the Guardian trigger because it’s all factory parts that have a mirror polish on them and it’d make things even smoother along with the reduced striker spring but eh, that’s just if you have money to burn.
  12. Sig will replace that barrel for free. hoping Glock‘s big announcement on 12/10 is a tungsten 34 but I bet that’s like a 3% chance.
  13. Is the base towards the muzzle or the rear of the gun?
  14. you’re right. They make a .115 front sight. Going with that.
  15. No way to see them before ordering but think this may work well for practical shooting. Warren Sevigny competition rear .130 width. https://warrentactical.com/product/glock-sevigny-competition-plain-rear-sight-w-130-notch/ .125 front sight. https://warrentactical.com/product/serrated-front-sight/

  17. Hmm. I was about to order one pinned on a 14.5 upper. May have to reconsider that lol.
  18. If it was for work, I’d get a Surefire Warcomp. I’m assuming you’ll be shooting next to guys and/or indoors and a full on brake will be obnoxious.

    P320 X5 Thread

I want to buy one of these. I was at my shop/range shooting yesterday and they had one but couple quick questions about the LCI barrel. will it be an issue with the new Romeo 1 pro or is that protected from the gas? And also, if I send it in to Sig to be replaced, can you send just the upper? I don’t want to have to deal with going through my FFL to get this fixed. My other dealer has 2 X5 legions in stock. May check there to see if by some miracle one doesn’t have the LCI barrel.
  20. that’s why I like 124g. 147 feels like the slide is moving really slow.
  21. American Eagle 124g is always a solid factory option.
  22. Man, my shop has an x5 legion that I’ve been thinking about. Should have gotten it today on lunch. Tomorrow I suppose.

    downside to MOS?

Optic sits higher and it’s not as secure. People try to justify the MOS as being just as good but it’s not. Just a matter if it’s worth it to you to spend a little extra to get it milled.
  24. Cool. Well I was playing with one at the store today and seemed pretty nice. Trigger was ok, not great. Normal Sig 320 type feel. I think it’s a great value so may grab it to play around with.
  25. I haven’t read through all of this thread. Are you guys all happy with the legion?
