  1. Since they like to rust you could always Rust blue them
  2. Dovetail is the same the shadow just has some metal removed from the top of the slide behind the dovetail. Not sure if you could get this imported or not but here are a couple options from the makers of the shadow viper. http://www.waffen-oschatz.de/CZ_Teile_und_Zubehoer.html
  3. Doctor sells a dovetail mount that works with both the doctor and burris fast fire's. Down side is the mount is a 1/4in thick I know there's a guy on the CZ forums looking at a group buy from Springer Precision making pretty much the same mount but half as thick.
  4. ya I've never tired anything softer i'll have to see if I have any 115 there might be some gold dot's around here somewhere I cast everything and still need to fine a good 115gr mold.
  5. Bah my light load makes minor 2.8gr AA#2 under a 168gr slug
  6. Got the TS trigger modded and it. Trigger is great now breaks clean at 1.75lb with the stock main spring and no trigger work to speak of.
  7. bake on. I have the setup to do hot bluing but it takes awhile and I figure it's gonna get some holster wear at some point.
  8. Never really updated this but the red dot above went in the trash before it made it on a gun so was a waste of money but now I know. Bought a used cz 75 and have been slowing changing it over. Here is a before. and after Still need to get the TS trigger installed and then decided if I'm gonna go farther with the gun or not. So far i've got it refinished with a two tone look safety, slide release, hammer, and grips are more of a flat black and the rest has some gloss. TS hammer, removed the disco, new grips and screws, new sear. I think the SA only trigger will be icing on the cake but the break point seems to be back further than I would like.

    Cz75 carry?

suggestions..... Here are some for you: CGW extended firing pin, reduced firing pin spring, 11.5 and 8.5 hammer springs tho you can run up to a 13lb spring that's what I did for my carry gun. CGW T3 disco it requires fitting but will give Zero pretravel but if your not comfortable fitting it he sells drop ins to CGW reduced trigger return spring. CGW sells both a fixed comp sight or a lpa adjustable sight. I ran the fixed and really liked it. I like to carry wood grips but there are a lot of good options and CZC has probably the best thin grips
  10. I contacted a company about a month ago about making a reduced trigger bar lifter spring and sear spring as no one offers them at this time but they haven't quoted me yet, still wouldn't make it as good as the TS but that trigger bar system is total different.
  11. I also find this the way to go.
  12. Great Info I'm gonna have to buy one of these now. How does the spring compare length wise? I've thought about taking a 8.5lb hammer spring and turning it down till I get light primer strikes but if there next to the same spring then this seems like a better place to start.
  13. I've changed out the number #19 and #13 pins and also added silver solder to the sides and fitted the sear cage for zero play. But the most improvement comes from getting a oversized (longer) #19 pin and fitting it so you can just get the sear cage in place, removes 95% of the play. I also boiled my hardened tool steel pin in sulfuric acid and it turn it black looked just like the stock pin.
  14. One more question now that CZ usa does not carry the gun will it still be IDPA legal, I remember reading something about 2000 needed to be produced for current guns and something like 20k for discontinued ones.
  15. Sweet great to here there still going to be available
  16. On CZ usa it shows the T verison also discontinued.
  17. I was just on CZ usa website and they have the 75 shadow shown as discontinued. I'm gonna be super pissed if I can't get one now, I talked to cz custom about getting one this year and they said they would be in around march so I'm hoping there will be at least one more run. Any one heard what's going on?
  18. Cheapo red dot came in today, for 40 bucks it looks and fells nice but only time will tell if it's gonna hold up. Might through in on my 9mm carbine to test it out. Here's a pic.
  19. That's interesting, I wonder with the right setup how far you can go with fed primers, a 6lb hammer spring maybe, well a cut/sanded down 8.5 since they don't make anything lower that I know oh. Would be curious just how low you could get the DA I had a 3.75lb with a cz 75b.
  20. Your gonna get light primer strikes with that setup, you need a extended firing pin, reduced firing pin spring to get 100% fires under 13lbs I believe. CGW sells the ultra-lite kit which comes with a reduced firing pin spring and FPBL spring, extended firing pin, and a 11.5lb and 8.5lb hammer spring. That should get you around a 4lb DA Here's the link http://cajungunworks.com/ultra-lite.html
  21. I'm not sure, I would think the one with the heaviest slide mass would work the best but a good heavy comp will work wonders too. Pressure isn't gonna kill the gun it's gonna be slide speed so as long as you can keep the slide from going the speed of light and beating the gun any platform will work.
  22. All you need is a new barrel or a .45 acp barrel reamed and your good to go, also adding a comp is a wonderful idea if you don't want to beat the gun to death but not required. Also you can just loaded .45 super brass to .460 rowland specs, if you email starline they will tell you that it's the same piece of brass just cut down more for super.
  23. I'm gonna upgrade my heating source this year so I can crank out the 60gr zinc if I wanted to tho I'm sure they would dent the crap out of steel plates, I've been able to push them to 1700fps but that's still only a power factor of 102. I've just got some time to kill till CZC gets some of the CZ 75 shadows in stock so I'd thought why not build a fun gun. I've been watching gunbroker for some surplus 75's but haven't seen anything that's not crap and decent priced yet. I ordered a cheap airsoft red dot that I'm gonna through on a Doctor mount and if it doesn't work I'm gonna go with the Burris Fast fire II as I believe it will mount right on to the doctor mount. I'm refinishing a 1952 Remington 514 right now in rust blue so I might redo the gun in that but I also like the idea of fill in all the roll marks and adding some slide cuts so I might use a epoxy based paint on the outside. Any idea's welcome if you guys were buildings a CZ 75 for fun what would you do.
  24. after seeing that hammer awhile back I wondered if the speed would be increased enough that you could get lower than a 8lb hammer spring with fed primers. Any idea what your trigger pull is coming in at on that gun?
