  1. Need a little more info. Is it not resetting in SA or DA? If it's Single action then like Lee G said material need removed from the backside of the leg or the trigger bar where the leg hangs over, if it's DA than material needs removed off the front of the wing.
  2. What gun? I have the Sear from CGW and it's a fine piece of steel tho I'm not sure that alone will change the mushiness. What hammer are you running stock or comp? There is a good amount of take-up in the SA than if your gun has a firing pin block the next thing you hit is the lifter which can fell a little mushy and than the break. If it has the block a lighter block spring from CGW will help with that, also the new disco's out from CZC and CGW will remove most of the pre-travel but as far as the break goes that's gonna depend of the condition of your sear and hammer hooks. You can resurface the CZC comp hammer if they are worn and same with the sear.
  3. The side of my bullet trap which is 1/4 steel or 3/8's I forget but you probably wouldn't want to shoot steel with them as they leave some pretty good dents unless it was some really thick steel.
  4. These 60 grains recoiled a lot less then you would have imaged if they recoiled at all I didn't once. Not sure they would have cycled the slide as I was feeding them one by one and using the stock glock recoil spring. The power factor at 1700fps is only 102.
  5. Looks like yet another powder that isn't fast enough. They all gave about the same results onyl so much powder was burn before the bullet was out the barrel. Chrono results: 6.8gr=1702fps 6.9=1710fps 7.0=1687fps so before I pick this project back up i'll need a faster powder
  6. Little progress but moving forward none the less. Got out the other day and shot 10 of the lee 124gr cast in zinc which weight 80gr loaded 5 to 4.9grs and 5 to 5.1grs and the avg velocity's were 1364fps and 1423fps so about 50fps less than what quickload guessed them at but I wanted to chrono some zinc before I tested the 3 60grs bullets I have. Loaded them to 6.8, 6.9, and 7.0grs of Bullseye! If all goes well I'll probably still fall short of 1900fps but i'll be happy enough if the powder gets burnt before the bullets down range and I can hit 1800fps if the weather will let me I'll test tomm.
  7. lol been playing around with the Hi tek coating for lead bullets and haven't had time to really cast anymore of these up tho I think I have 3 maybe 5 in the draw i'll be sure to load them and report back. Gun: my glock 17 cuz if it's gonna blow up better the glock than the CZ. I will say that 6.88grs of bulleye doesn't seem that crazy I chronoed 20 102gr bullets the other day with 5.3grs and they average 1344fps tho 1900ish fps is a long ways to go. I see I have 10 to 15 of my 80gr zinc bullets from a mold I don't even have anymore will try to get these loaded to.
  8. Good question, You would have to ask David at CGW. But I think it works in most CZ guns.
  9. Sounds like your Sear or safety lever was improperly fixed. Easiest/best fix is get a CGW adjustable Sear the quality on the sear is much higher and it's adjustable so you can somewhat adjust the amount of tension on the safety.
  10. From what Hi-Tek claims you can push a rifle bullet with no gas check to 3200fps. True or not IDK but I haven't been able to push any of my 9mm bullets fast enough to cause any leading. Also not sure about running them in a MP-5 or a silencer but I don't see why they would be any different than a FMJ.
  11. Well ended up going with bulleye as it had the best data in quickload OAL 1.080 Bulleye 6.88grs Chamber pressure max 38979 FPS 1899 Powder burnt 94.89% hopefully this powder is fast enough so the powder is actually burnt before the bullet is down range. Once I get some more bullets casted up i'll test it over the chrono and report back. This is going to have to take a back set tho, I just got some Hi-tek coating in from Bayuo bullets and will be playing with that here in the near future.
  12. I think so. I made my own disco mod with silver solder and it does the same thing as above and I think it's outstanding and will never go back to the stock disco. The thing is tho it doesn't really help anyone that rides the trigger forward just past the reset point but for those who slap the trigger it removes a lot of the travel to the break point. CGW said there is more improvements than just the shorter travel with his up coming disco so I'll be patiently waiting. Also nothing against CZC but I think the CGW disco is going to be price 38+3 dollars shipping so 41 dollars vs CZC's disco at 55+12=67 bucks.
  13. Was kind of my thoughts if you run into a SHTF scenario you could probably find pennies. Tho at this time it's illegal to melt pennies or any money so zinc needs to be found other ways like the scrap yard. No I don't think so, but would a copper FMJ? The hardness on these things is crazy when shot at the side of my bullet trap they do the below and this was a pretty low speed if I remember right. 1200fps or something in that range I think don't really know but this was from a different mold to the lee TL 124gr and these came in at 80grs.
  14. Last year I tired something like 9grs of powerpistol behind it because quickload said it would be just under 1900fps tho I didn't have a chrono at the time I tested penetration with it and AA#2 beat it. I would guess the bullet was long gone before half the powder was burnt. I've been trying mach loads in quickload to see how it predicts the powder will perform. Here's some of the results. OAL 1.080 Clays 4.8grs Chamber pressure max 38782 FPS 1664 Powder burnt 100% OAL 1.080 AA#2 6.75grs Chamber pressure max 38879 FPS 1760 Powder burnt 88.58% OAL 1.080 N310 5.2grs Chamber pressure max 38879 FPS 1728 Powder Burnt 100% OAL 1.080 Nitro 100 5.7grs Chamber pressure max 38709 FPS 1815 Powder burnt 100% Now that I have a chrono I can safely start low and build up loads I'm just wondering if anyone has a idea where the bullet weight and powder burnt meet. Being such a light bullet I want all the powder burnt before it leaves the barrel and quickload is only so-so at that.
  15. As a project I casted up some zinc bullets and now I'm wondering what powder I should start with to see how fast I can push them, max speed is my goal. The bullet is a lee 102gr RD but it only weights 60grs because zinc is so light. I have quickload and a chronograph so testing loads shouldn't be a problem and I'm thinking about getting n310 but if I go with a slighty slower powder do you think i'll gain some FPS?
  16. Redding Competition Seating Dies are probably the best dies or atleast that's what you would think as they range from 70 to 250 so they better be next to flawless.
  17. What part of the trigger do you hook to measure the pull from? My CZ is down right now so I measured my Glock 17 and from the middle of the trigger it measures 6.50 and from the bottom of the trigger its 4.75lb I'm guessing it from the extra leverage so what is the correct way to measure it?
  18. Lol ya has to run normally, no re cutting or sanding the hammer hooks under 100rd rounds or anything crazy like that 1.75/3.5 is very impressive and ya I would image no one under 2lb is running anything than Feds.
  19. Ya I heard of a couple CZ's now around 2lb/4lb never heard of a sub 1 tho I think anything under 2lb is really pushing the limits.
  20. Just kind of wondering who's got the lowest trigger pull in a DA/SA gun and what your numbers are? If you don't run with it that's fine just as long as you confirmed your gun having that pull at one point.
  21. I use the CGW adjustable sear to set the level of force required to move the safety.
  22. Ya I going to have to wait for summer to build a load with a faster powder than AA#2 and I need to get a chrono. I assumed Solo was a ball powder I'm a bigger fan of ball powders seem to measure better for me. Tho running Solo through quickload instead of AA#2 I move from 98% powder burned to 100% powder burned which sounds great. agreed, I once removed a crimp groove from a mold to gain more weight for the same length. A lot of work for 3grains tho.
  23. I shoot 173gr SWC out of my 9mm all the time as it's my favorite load. I've been weighting them lately and there casting at 168/169 but I load 2.7gr of AA2 behind them and it pushes them to just over 800fps loaded with a OAL of 1.135 Power Factor comes in at 135. Accuracy is the best of any of the bullets I have tested so far so I don't plan on changing bullets but maybe tweaking the load. Been thinking of getting some SOLO 1000 to put behind them but reloading supplies are hard to find around here. Hows the recoil on this load? Makes you think you got a squib round if your shooting 115gr and switch to 173gr.
  24. I forgot I even had my stock hammer and I think your right it would be better to do these mods to the stock hammer as there would be less weight in the end. I had some time on my hands today and decided to mod my stock hammer tho it's not going to be legal in Stock anything it should prove if a lighter hammer can be used with a lighter hammer spring so I chopped some of the hammer off and took some off the back side of the main beam to make it all flow together a little better then I recut the hooks a little lower than the comp hammer. Sorry for the blurry pic Should be able to cock the hammer into SA with my hand still. Will report after some testing.
  25. Good to know I guess I will just leave it alone then. I don't mind doing everything that is aloud but I have to plan to try to cheat the rules. I don't compete at this time but plain on starting when the season starts this year.
