  1. Don't get any CZ but a TS in 40, the 75 series only hold 15 in 140mm mags where the TS holds 21. A 9mm 75SA will be scored minor, but it will hold 23 in a 140mm, if you're getting overwhelmed with too much going on that should help emensely.
  2. I like your thinking There's no good reason a new guy who owns a .40 Glock shouldn't be scored Major in Production.
  3. Thaunk, shoot what you have a buy a reloading press.
  4. What guns do you already have? Anything suitable for competition? Are you already shooting USPSA in another division? I really hate to dash dreams, but limited budget and Open don't usually mix well.
  5. Practically speaking, different people testing trigger weights on DA pistols like CZs with a bunch of different shaped triggers would be problematic. Regardless, your proposal would handicap the most popular platform in the division (DA/SA) to a much greater degree than their striker fired counterparts. Shadows come from the Factory with sub 4# SA triggers, so no Shadows? Even a high mileage 75B is under 4#. The more asenine rules you create for the Production division, the more difficult the enforcement, handicapping honest shooters and giving the advantage to those who disregard the rules. In reality, the "Production arms race" is all in your head
  6. IHAVEGAS, you're really over thinking this bowenbuilt asked "What should I get that is reasonably priced?", the CTS costs three times what an SP01 does, so I don't think that fits the bill. The best Production shooters in the world are shooting SP01 Shadows and Stock IIs, there's no need to reinvent the wheel. If you lean to the CZ and want to save a few bucks on the initial investment, an SP01 fully tuned for ~$1,000 is so close to an SP01 Shadow I can barely tell the difference (I've owned many of each).
  7. I agree with dansedgli, if you want to shoot Limited, shoot Limited. The TS in .40 is the most competitive CZ for Limited, but if you're not interested in shooting one I suggest the 75 SA, it's a low risk way to get your feet wet.
  8. SP01 will serve you nicely
  9. There's a kit you can buy to make the Shadow mags work with the wider TS frame.
  10. The only two I know are available are the Quinn III and Eric Grauffel's, the Cheely mount is available by special order only at the moment.
  11. None just yet, but I'm pretty sure it'll end up with three; I'll start with 1/8", then 5/32", maybe 3/16".
  12. No, the bore hole moves through the comp at a downward angle on a Tanfo, the CZs are slightly more parallel to the top of the slide.
  13. 115s and SP2, I think it was 9.8gr in the video.
  14. Yup, just ream the holes (Tanfo holes are ~0.5 bigger).
  15. The current production model of the Gold Team is nicknamed V12 because of its 12 barrel ports in a V pattern. I made a custom Tanfoglio open gun with 4 in a V and three inline, Y7: This is the factory configuration:
  16. It's hard to quantify, I'd guess it has a smaller effect than light hammer and recoil springs.
  17. The 85 is on the Production list, so you can use the 85 slide stop on any other CZ.
  18. Which disco are you using? Do you have a firing pin block? This is typically the place: The area behind the wedge must be filed down:
  19. Will the comp clear the full dust cover?
  20. If you're shooting factory ammo don't bother with a ported barrel (you will most likely chrono sub minor) or a comp. Just put a dot and magwell on the pistol of your choice, get a big stick and have a good time
