Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I would try a 155 gr SWC at a little over 800 fps. This would be in the 125 of range.
  2. Ok, I ordered 2 17 round Mec-gar CZ75 magazines, these are the ones with the flat black finish and the blue followers. Once they were in I put a Taran Tactical base pad on one and a factory Mec-gar +2 pad on the other. With no other changes this is what I got. The first mag with the Taran Tactical pad now holds 21 rounds and feeds perfectly and the second mag with the +2 pad holds 19 rounds and also feeds perfectly. I will be ordering more of these mags to feed my Witness, Thanks to everyone for their help. Van
  3. Heres one that I built a few years ago. It has both a 9mm top end that I use for 3 gun and a 40 s&w top that I use for USPSA Limited 10.
  4. Well this is what i have found out. I talked to Beven Grams, he told me that the problem im having has more to do with my mag bodies than springs or followers. He recommended that i talk to Henning Walgren. After a conversation with him he recommended that i try one of his 23 round mags built with a Mec -gar mag body and his hollow base pad, spring and follower. So i have a couple of these mags on the way to try. Hopefully they will solve my problems.
  5. Im running an older small frame witness match in 9mm. It feeds fine out of standard 17rd factory mags but i recently put Taran Tactical mag pads on it to increase the capacity to 20rds. It now nose dives the first two rounds in the mag. ive tried replacing the springs with wolff +10% springs with no change. Anybody have an idea how to cure this problem? Thanks.
  6. Fantastic!!! This is the gun I have wanted since I got my Canik TP9SA. I have been running a standard TP9SA for about 6 months for 3 gun and love it, but this new one if it runs like the one I have now will be just what I've been hoping for. Van
  7. My choice was other. I have been using one of the Canik TP9SA's for a few months now in local 3 gun matches. With a little work I was able to get the trigger down to a crisp 4 lbs. The pistol shoots very well and has gone through a couple thousand rounds with out any kind of malfunction. I am using the holster that came with it with the only change being to replace the original belt loop with a tec lok. The bore line is low so there isn't much muzzle flip and you can get 20 round factory mags for it. Other than the trigger work the only other things I've done to it is to order one of Talon's pre-cut grip tape and I made an extended mag release. Van Schneider
  8. I picked this up back during the summer and after working on the trigger i got it down to a crisp 4 lbs. I next did some mods to the grip frame to make it more comfortable for me. I then covered the grip with pre-cut grip tape from Talon. Lastly I made the extended mag release and ordered in some of the 20 round magazines. I have been using the holster that came with the pistol with the only change to install a tec lok on it to mount on my competition belt. I have been using it to shoot local 3 gun matches and have so far put a couple thousand rounds of my 115 grain handloads through it without a single malfuction. To say the least i am very happy with this pistol! For me at least i like this pistol more than any of the other striker fired pistols that I have owned in the past including Glocks, S&W M&P's and Springfield XD's. I recently had a chance to compare my Canik with a Glock 34 with a Zev trigger kit in it and a Springfield XD with a Powder River Precision kit. My Canik had a much better feeling trigger than the Glock and just as nice as the XD. I consider the Canik one heck of a buy considering that the only money I have spent on upgrading the gun is the $17 I spent on the grip tape! Where as the other two cost quite a bit more and then there owners spent almost as much for the trigger kits as I did for my gun! I hope that this pistol gets popular enough that someone starts making either a trigger kit for it or at least a spring kit. With these I beleive the trigger could be gotten down to 3 lbs or less safely. Also a mag funnel would be nice for faster mag changes. Lastly it would be nice to get it on USPSA's production list. 9. Thanks for the information and the quick reply! Van
  10. Anybody try fitting the single action triggers made for the CZ-75 in a small frame Witness? Thanks Van
  11. Check out Red Hill Tactical on Ebay. Just got one in black with a tek lok for Tanfoglio Limited/Stock II for $45! The same holster by Red Hill Tactical is listed on Henning Wallgren's site but they want $65!
  12. Pskys2, I haven't tried the big butts yet but am getting ready to order a set for my open class revolver. Its a Taurus 608 that has been rebarreled with a dual port slab side 6" barrel, a custom aluminum under lug to keep weight down, moon clipped and a c-more sight with a 6 min dot. Back when I set up the gun I put a set of rubber Hogues on it but now that I see I can get the big butts I think they will work well.
  13. Thanks Pat, From the pictures I have looked at of the real Miculek grips they looked more "round" than the ones on my PC do but its nice to hear that I was right. I think I will try a set from Bang Inc. and see how they feel. Thanks again.
