  1. Hi everyone, Has anyone else noticed that the listed weight on the Pro at 26 ounces is 3.5 ounces less than the M&P 9 fullsize which is listed at 29.5 ounces? Now I just recieved my Pro today (My 4th M&P total) and I haven't weighed it but I am sure it is not 3.5 ounces light than my regular fullsize 9
  2. Hi everyone, I have a funny question. Does anyone have a set of the Dawson Fixed rear sight and Dawson Fiber optic from sight on a Springfield XDM in .40? If so what height front sight did you use? I have heard conflicting reports of using the.205 or the .220, which works best for you? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, Just been dryfiring for the most part the last few days. Work has been pretty busy so not much live fire done lately. I am running the montly IDPA match tomorrow night at work, so figure I will shoot my single stack .38 super in ESP (Not a IDPA fan, but lots of local interest here in IDPA and the fundamentals are the same.) Good news is though, for the first time in my life, starting next week I will now have weekends off. Will let me definately shoot more matches, both local and bigger and should really help me step up my game. Made a concious decision to stick to the 10 round or less divison's this year. Mostly Production with some Limited 10 in to change up the scenery from time to time and see is shooting points in minor helps me find the accuracy for major?
  4. Jason, Does this mean you are going to be bringing Neal cookies? Also are you going to be at Rio on Sunday? Will bring the extractor with me :-)
  5. Jason, Are you getting a bad-ass new limited gun?
  6. Henning I cannot see any fixed rear sights? Do I need the special glasses? :-)

Rick, Hi again. How have you been haven't seen you much since you got married. I will still shoot with you on the fun filled open squad, just not shooting open :-) You can shoot next to me anytime at SGC, even with your world famous rotating comp Tanfoglio!
  8. Hi everyone, In my humble opinion, there is nothing that shoots as soft for the money, than Clays, I use it with both my 124 FMJ, 135 FMJ and 147 JHP and anyone who shoots my gun, claims I am shooting a 110 power factor then we shoot over the chrono and they cannot belive its a 135 PF.

Stuart, Thanks for the kind words. For some reason I do have a real addiction to CZ's :-) Sharon, thanks for reminding me of some of those things which should be obvious. I do try and use a timer whenver possible and also use one with my students, but sometimes, indoors, it can become a pain, depending on who is shooting next to you :-)

Hi everyone and happy new year. Not much to report as no matches to shoot for the last few days. I do get to dryfire everyday. Sometimes with a rig on, sometimes just an informal session, but i do pull the trigger for at least 5 minutes a day everyday. Was able to go into work (We are closed today) and use the range for a couple of hours. Shot mostly my M&P in 9 and a CZ 75B SA in 40 that converted over to DA/SA by me. Now I love the M&P and own 4 right now and carry one everyday at work. I bought the fist one that ever arrived in the store back in Fed 06. Now for some reason I tend to shoot the DA/SA CZ's better than any striker gun out there. I tend to focus on trigger control and sight picture more throught the trigger press especially in double action, while on a light triggered striker gun (My M&P trigger is just at 2#) I tend to slap the trigger and while the groups are good they tend to be more erratic.

Hi everyone, I have often thought of starting a range diary but often thought I was of such minor importance, why bother :-) Now a little about myself, I just turned 40 a few days ago, have been shooting socially for about 20 years but in competition for only about 4 or so. Started with IDPA with a local club here in Phoenix, AZ, then moved to USPSA for the openess in thinking and basically the higher round counts and more fun. In USPSA I am B open, B limited, C Limited 10 and C Production (havent shot Production in a long time though but thats about to change) Now I am one of those guys who likes to shoots different guns and different divisions. This last year I shoot mostly open as my work buddy and good friend Eddie is a GM in open and basically talked me into it. However I am really not a open shooter, as I am the only guy who shoots points in open. I am basically making the decision to shoot production for the next year as that is what I think is the most fun (with the occasional Limited 10 match or two for fun) Now for the disclaimer part, for my occupation I am a rangemaster and private instructor for the largest indoor shooting facility in the U.S. Now what that means is I very rarely get to shoot (except for students gun's or the occasional gunsmithing diagnosis) I also run our matches on the first and third Wednesday of the month. I will be reporting here on my dryfire, practice seessions and the weekend matches and majors I am able to attend. Thanks for reading my about my little world and feel free to add what you want to it!
  12. Man do I ever want a Stock II !!! Any chance we will ever get them here in the US?
  13. Rick, I am glad that I made you laugh by talking my way throught stage after stage. Funny thing is I do not shoot very well if I do not talk? Must be a sub-concious thing to help keep my calm :-) It was a laugh riot watching Pete (The guy shooting the guns during chrono) winch and swear after he shoot our three open guns in a row. I chrono'd at 183 , Eddie at 185 and you were way up there as well.
  14. Thanks again for everyone for putting on the match and also for Squad 14 for putting up with me, (You guys rock and its always fun having a guy on your squad who actually likes going first) Nick congratulations on your win, you are the best buddy!! As always the most colorful hair or any open GM (only you can get away with rocking the muffin top fade)
  15. Rick, Congratulations!! I am sure that I will see you this week at SGC and be able to tell you in person. If not I will see you Friday on Squad 14 at A2. Tony
  16. Daniel Horner usually shoots a S&W M&P but not sure if that is what he used at the Worlds. Congrats to all the US shooters!
  17. Hi there, The match that we run here at SGC generally doesn't have a maximum number of shooters. We generally have a cutoff time to register (Usually 6:00 but to be safe try to get here by 5:30 to 5:45) reason that we run a cutoff time is that we only have two full bays to run the 4 stages (3 stages and a classifier) We will run all the shooters on the first two, then turn over the stages and run the next two. If you are one of the first shooters on the first two stages you may have a bit of a break before the last two stages, but you can always walk around the store, harrass your friends etc. We generally start shooting at 5:15 but if we can manage it we will try to fire the first shots a little earlier than that. As always it is $15.00 for non-members of the club and $12.00 for SGC members. Round count should be right about 100ish but alwys bring a few extra in case of a re-shoot, etc. Any other questions feel free to PM or e-mail me and I will help you out anyway I can. Tony
  18. Hi everyone, We are going to be doing our USPSA match at SGC on Wednesday November 5. We usually starts hooting at 5:15, but are going to try and get it going earlier this time. We usually hold 4 stages one of them being a classifier. We usually try and fit in whatever area 2 stages we can (being a indoor range we do have some restrictions in regards to 180's and the such) For non members we charge $15.00 and members $12.00 Fell free to pm me with any questions you may have. If you are coming into town early you can shoot Tuesday Night Steel at Rio. Us at SGC on Wednesday. Shoot steel early at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club (Shooting starts at about 4:00 pm, then head up to Ben Avery to shoot Cactus Match starting at 7:00 pm on Thursday. Then shoot Friday Saturday and Sunday for Area 2! Six straight days of shooting fun!
  19. Chuck, Hi again. I am one of the guys that work here at SGC and we have been saying that we are going to run the USPSA match on that Wednesday. I will talk to the higher ups and make sure that it is set in stone and let everyone know here.
  20. I also shot with Jason (King of Re-Shoots) and Neal on the same squad and had a great time. I also shot weaker than both, but the Arizona boys will be back next year!
  21. Hi everyone, We just got in from Nationals after another actionpacked and fun filled 19 hour drive. As for the person who said there was only one hour of rain, our squad # 14 had rain on all of our stages on the first day (A light sprinkle after the first three shooter's of our fist stage, to a steady light rain on the second and third stage, to a serious downpour on the remaining 3 stages. Now I do not mind the rain, but ALOT of people were seriously complaining. Now I was also a little tiffed that only the Thursday morning rotation got the brunt of the rain, but we all had to play in the mud. I only wish I could understand the rational in the way they designed the draining and footing of the bays.
  22. Hi everyone, Just my 2 cents. Locally here in AZ we actually more CZ's in productions than Glocks (Probably due to the fact that Angus is a local influence) I am willing to be that at this years Production Nationals that if you combine CZ's and the Smith M&P they will overcome Glocks dominance. Within 2 years I think the M&P with overcome Glock (Due to Glocks ergonomic issues and with more people exposed to other options)
  23. Hi everyone, I do have a question and am not sure if this is the right place to ask it? Most big area matches I have shot have larger squads and longer stage times (ie 15 people on a squad and 1 1/2 hours to shoot a stage in) Now how well do relativly small and quicks stages run (Are you always running behind) Not trying to start a fight just want to know what to expect.
  24. Hi everyone, Not to speak for anyone but I did speak face to face with one of the top 5 shooters mentioned and he stated he is not going due to security concerns, inability to bring you own ammo into Bali and the political enviroment in Bali right now. I assume its what most are thinking. He said he wasn't comfortable in risking so much for a match.
