  1. Hi there, This will probably no be much help, but I won 7 CZ 75/85 variants all in 9mm (well one in 40SW) and the first thing I do is swap out the stock RS with one from Wolff. In my SP-01 I run a 12# spring and in all of my 75B and Singl;e actions I run a 13# spring. In the 40 Single Action I run a 14# spring and have never hjad one problem. I know this doen't help at all but I am as perplexed as you are especailly since switching back to the stock spring cures the problem? Are you running teh stock recoil spring guide rod as well?
  2. Another vote for Cen-Dex. I had Frank build me a custom Storm SD back when I was running my Elite II. I always use Cen-Dex so I may be a bit partial :-)
  3. Stuart and all, I totally agree about the SP-01 frame being night and day better than the classic 75/85 frame. To me the perfect gun weight and balance wise is the SA series. Beavertail frame, far better ambi safeties and a little more weight but no where near as heavy as the SP-01. Angus keeps saying he wants to get CZ to build the 75B on the SA frame and if he does it will be the gun to get for me (I do have a SP-01 but find the slide cycling speed to be a little distacting, it is hard to describe?) I also love my Angus built 75B but its a little flippy due to the lighter weight. While I usally only get to shoot my SA guns for IDPA I do like them the best :-)
  4. Sorry guys, I in no way meant to step on anyones toes and I guess I should have just thought it to my self instead of speaking out loud. I only meant that there are not alot of factory spronsored GLOCK shooter's and am not trying to belittle the positive things that they do do. Hope that makes sense and I do apoligize.
  5. Hi guys, I am in no way meaning to start a war with the GLOCK fanatics. But why does GLOCK not support the sports more by sponsoring more shooters? Seems that there are legions of fans and GLOCKS profit margins are so high why not give back to the people who support them?
  6. Dos anyone know if Angus shot in open? I talked to him the day before he left last week and he said he was toying with the idea of shooting his production CZ 75 with 19 round mags in minor just to stir the pot. He said he probably wasn't going to do it though as most people would just look at the standings and wonder what happened to Angus?
  7. Hi there, To just piggy back on to what most others have said including EERW, basically any CZ-75 platform gun will do wonders for you. I currently own a bunch of the guns (2-75B's, SP01, 97B, 75B SA in 9 and a 75B SA in 40) While I really like the SP01 and SA frame much better than the traditional 75B/85 style frame (differnt, beavertail tang, mag release, etc) But, for the money, compared to any production gun out there the stock 75B cannot be beat. All you need is the stock gun, drop in a Wolff 15# mainspring, a recoil spring of your choice (I run a 13# in the 75B's and a 12# in the SP-01) and a set of Angus's sights and you are ready to run with any production gun in any class. Plus hitting reloads in a CZ is all but mindless and the ergonomics at least to my hand cannot be beat. Plus the absolutely best thing about the CZ platform is that they are not GLOCKS!
  8. What about production? I know DS won, but what about the runner ups?
  9. Hi everyone, You have got to love the Phoenix area of AZ. I moved here a few years ago basically for shooting and my love of guns. You have to love the fact that you can basically shoot IDPA matches 3-4 times a week every week year round. If you also throw in IPSC, steel and now Marks new TSA format, you can shoot a match 6 days a week every week year round. :-)
  10. Hi everyone, I have a quick question that I was hoping one of you could help me with. I have a SVI Infinity 5" Limited gun that was built up from an open frame. The gun is compltely SVI and has one of their Opti-Fit ambi safeties on it. Now the problem is when I received the gun the right side lever (the off side for a right hander) had a slight gap away from the frame and every time I would click it off I would get pinched. I got the fitting directions from the SVI website and when I tried to remove it something happened and the lever came off, but the screw feels stripped. What should I do (I figured I would just call SVI but I hoped someone here would let me know something that might work also) Thanks in advance.
  11. Another vote for Cen-Dex. I have a Storm SD for every gun I shoot competition with and he just built me one for my new CZ SP-01. Great Holster plus a great guy to do business with!
  12. Hi guys and thanks for the replies. Mark, the gun is a pistol that CZ was going to bring out to be their new win all production gun until the powers that be decided it wasn't fit for production? It is a full size CZ-75 based gun with a steel dustcover with rail. Has a bunch of neat stuff and Angus imported 10 of them into the US I was lucky enough to get one of the ten (Also Eddie Garcia got one) It is a great soft shooting 9 and at the price point it is at it would take over a huge percent of the 9 fun gun market if they do decide to bring them in. If you are going to be at PR&G tomorrow I will bring it out and let you play with it :-) Anthony
  13. Hi everyone, I just picked up one of Angus few in the US CZ SP-01 and want to use this as my new ESP blaster, it is under the weight (Angus and I weighed it ) but then I noticed the full length dustcover of carbon or stainless steel part. Now its not a full length dustcover (about 1/4" shorter than the slide) Now please do not tell me that the new gun I just bought tonight is already obsolete. Also just wanted to give a public thanks to Angus for all of the help and great service.
  14. Hi everyone, I have a somewhat stupid question which is just begging for ridicule :-) I have a well used SVI INfinity in 40SW which is a factory gun with the bull barrel. Since I mainly shoot IDPA and the gun is otherwise IDPA legal is it possible to have a gunsmith turn down the barrel and turn it into a bushing gun? I know that I could get it rebarrelled, but this must be way cheaper and this barrel does shoot well, but I am just curious if I am asking for trouble or not? The slide does have the cuts for a bushing and it is the standard dustcover gun. Thanks in advance.
  15. Hi there, I just wanted to add my two cents. I am by no means an expert, and I mainly shoot IDPA, not IPSC, so take this with a grain of salt, but I own 2 para P-16's and a Short Dustcover SVI in 40 and I personally prefer the Para's. My one Para P16 is set up basically the same as the SVI (BoMar rear, Dawson front, Brown Beavertail, Thumb, Magwell, etc. ) and I shoot the Para much better. To me the Para is more conisitent in recoil, and the gun just feels a little beter to me. I have also found that my 6 Para Mags always run and in my SVI I had to try different followers, spring combinations to get them to run while the Para mags are 100% factory stock.
  16. Hi guys and thanks for the quick replies. I will order a 14# and a 12.5# and see which one feels better. I do currently have a CP Buff in the gun and although it does feel fine, I cannot slingshot the slide and it is a old habit that is dying hard.
  17. Hi everyone, I have a somewhat redundant question. I recently picked up a nicely set-up used Para P16 that I am going to use in IDPA to shoot ESP. I am currently using 135gr Ranier minor loads of a little under 130PF and when I am through with these am going to go with Flex's ZERO 180gr JHP load of 3.5gr of Titegroup. Now I am not sure of what spring is currently in the gun but I was going to order a ISMI 11# and 12.5# are even these too heavy for a 130PF load? Also should I or shouldn't I run a buff? Sorry if this is a old hashed question, but I read the facts and did a search and just found general info. Thanks ina dvance for any help you can give.
  18. Hi everyone, I called up ISMI and he is going to send out a new spring to me tomorrow. He said it definately shouldn't be doing what it is and it should not have gone down in length like that. They were great to deal with. He said he doesn't know what could have caused it, but it wasn't right. Thanks for everyones help.
  19. Hi again everyone, I measure the springs and the 13# is at 4 1/8" long and the 15# which has about 400 rounds through it is a little over 5 1/4" long. Like I said I have only put the 150 through it and I guess I will try and shoot more rounds and see what happens, but I have never had a gun where if you would wave it in the air the slide would come out of battery? (Not that I go around waving guns in the air :-)
  20. Flex, They both go all of the way to the rear and bottom out on the head of the recoil spring. I marked the frame with the front of the slide and both went to the same spot approx. (Well within a 32" of so) Now looking at teh ISMI 13# spring it is well over a inch under the length of a new one :-(
  21. Steve, Hi and thanks for your reply. I bought the spring from GlockMeister as I needed a couple of other small parts and he is local to me. It did feel good when I shot it, but am just afraid that if I am moving between shooting points and on the run, what if the slide comes out of battery enough to fire a shot that way? Does everyone who runs a 13# spring have this same situation? Like I said if it is a common occurance, no biggie, it just doesn't seem right?
  22. Forgot to mention that the 150 rounds I put through the gun with the 13# spring was just Winchester White box, nothing hot or plus P. Also I was just dry finig and if the gun is in battery and you point the muzzle to the sky the slide will sometimes slip out of battery which cannot be right. Also I did not clip any coils it is untouches as far as that goes.
  23. Hi everyone, I have a somewhat stupid question. I just recently got a ISMI 13# spring for my Glock 17 (I use a THE stainless non-captured guiderod) and I noticed something that worries me. After putting the first 150 rounds through the gun with this brand new spring, the spring is approx 1/2-3/4" shorter that it was when new (Compared to another brand new one) Also if I slowly release the slide on a empty chamber during dry fire, the slide will not fully go into battery(About 1/4" from going fully foreward). Is this normal with the ISMI 13# springs? I had a ISMI 15# spring and it hasn't gone down in length in the 300-400 rounds I put on it. I do like the way the gun feels with the 13 but do not want to worry if this is normal, but want to be reassured. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
