  1. +2 for the Warne mounts. Only reason I sold my RAMP is because I couldn't get it far enough forward for my Razor. Wish I wouldn't of sold it and put it on one of the precision AR's. Best made mount I have seen to date. My JP should be here early next week so we will see how it compares. The vortex cantilever is pretty cheaply made, similar to PEPR or Nikon mount. Saying that though I haven't had a problem with it either.
  2. That falls squarely on you. That is not any wrongdoing by Brownells. To suggest otherwise is just wrong. That should not even be mentioned as a small complaint! If the letter was actually signed by Pritchett, which is pretty cool and super nice when you spend that kind of money, I have to agree with OkCorey. I don't appreciate companies giving out my info on products I buy even if it is to the OEM. Pritchett Pritchett
  3. I did the same thing but since this is only gonna be used for 3 gun I'm not gonna risk it since I only use to different chokes any ways. Less than $100 for extended LM and CYL. A +5 will get you 10 in the tube and will extend about 5" past the end of the barrel so a +6 should extend about 7.5" past if my maths correct. It's up to you on how many you think you need. I can fit 10 in my Benelli and have got stage planning down somewhat so I stuck with the same on the Beretta.
  4. Just picked mine up last night and man I already like it a lot!. It was to late to get to the range and put some rounds through it, but it felt great in the hands. It will need some smoothing and rounding work done on the front of the loading port to glide the shells into the tube, they kind of hit a brick wall sometimes now, and the lifter welded and lengthen. My one issue is that it doesn't put a shell on the lifter when the button is pushed at the rear of the lifter. That is how it works on my 391 Teknys. Am I missing something before I call Beretta's customer service and possibly have to send it back? Also, this is what choke came in mine. It looks to be a modified and measures the same as my modified optima choke for my teknys, .710. The Beretta website says improved cylinder, but this is better if it patterns ok. Already have a Briley cylinder for it.
  5. To me it came down to how many I want in the tube. I wanted to be able to have at least 10 in the tube, doesn't have to be empty to load 8 weak hand, so I went with the plus 5 tube. The plus 5 tube extends past a 24" barrel so i'm not gaining any maneuverability through ports or such with a shorter barrel so why not go with the 24? That was my thinking anyways.
  6. I would go with the eotech. If 90% of your shooting is <90 yrds the eotechs are very fast with there pretty much unlimited field of view. I never had trouble hitting steel out to 200 when I used this setup. I'm not sure what the IPSC rules are on the size of targets though compared to the rules here in the states. Like mentioned before, I wouldn't rule out a good set of irons. I personally like the HK style front site over the standard m-16 style.
  7. If your ever get down to Madison, Vortex office has a "showroom" in the front with all of there products on display. All of there rifle scopes are mounted on plastic stocks that you can throw up to your shoulder and see how you like it. They will even let you take them outside and look through them in the daylight. You won't go wrong buying one. If you do decide to go forward check this out. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=173562
  8. One of the guys I shoot smallbore with during the winter had quite the wait, several months, for a Criterion for his f-class gun. Kreiger(criterion) is a pretty small company. I would call them. They are definitely worth the wait if you do have to wait.
  9. How are you guys fitting the Noveske switchblock under a standard handguard, like zmego originally way asking about? Seems WAY to tall to fit.
  10. I have the same issue. The muffs are just to hot so I only wear them when I'm shooting. I wear the below plugs, which have a pretty high dB rating, all the time. The best part about them is that there free from work! http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/3M-PPE-Safety-Solutions/Personal-Protective-Equipment/Products/Product-Catalog/~/3M-E-A-Rsoft-Yellow-Neon-Blasts-Uncorded-Earplugs-Hearing-Conservation-312-1252-in-Poly-Bag-Regular-Size-2000-PR-Case?N=4294928182+5011378&&Nr=AND%28hrcy_id%3ACN0BFTL52Vgs_78893FP9J7_N2RL3FHWVK_GPD0K8BC31gv%29&rt=d
  11. Where are you shopping? Cheapest I can find is the $180 range. I'm looking for a longer hand guard for my backup gun that isn't $200 and will barely ever get used.
  12. My dad runs a XTR and I was amazed at how clear it is for the money. Not as nice as the razor, but close. The illum not being daylight bright was the deal breaker for me. I do like how the reticle is smaller than the MTAC. The MTAC just covers up way to much real estate for my liking.
  13. That is more of a warning than a question. There is an old adage if something sounds too good to be true it probably is. That and you get what you pay for. Pat Couldn't agree with you more pat.
  14. Thats weird. My 14.5 CL noveske holds about 1.5 MOA with xm193. I haven't even tried any 69 Mk's through it yet because it does what I need it to with ball. Although the club matches I shoot only go out to 250.
  15. Why do you want to pin it? Is this for a CA legal rifle? Probably to get a 14.5 non-NFA. didn't have any issues pinning the SJC and can't see why you would with the rolling thunder either. Both your going to need a good way to hold the barrel, brass or plastic jaws, on a drill press or mill.
  16. If your looking for reticle pictures check out swfa.com they have alot of them listed for each individual scope. I to didn't like the giant dots in the MTAC. Although I never actually used one the dots just seemed to big for any kind of long range work. I would definitely look through one before purchasing one.
  17. +1 Magpul is cranking out mags so get on the notification list at midway, brownells, or your other favorite retailer.
  18. Correct. The loop on the bottom of the barrel that the barrel nut goes on is to small that a shell can't pass through it hence why you can't add a mag tube on it. The cordoba is the same gun as the supersport and a couple other benelli models. I'm not so sure that you can put a extension on all extrema's. I know you can on the extrema 2's but not sure about the regular extrema's. I thought the extrema was just a 391 (same problem as cordoba) that was modified to run 3-1/2" shells.
  19. Possibly look at Noveske. There 14.5's are mid length gas. I have just a chrome lined 14.5 and seems to be pretty accurate for a light gun and cheap Federal 55 fmj's.
  20. I ran the pmag 40 for the first time this weekend and ran flawless except for 1 stage it dropped out of my gun when I racked the bolt. I haven't had time to play around with it more to see if it just wasn't seated or if there is actually an issue with the mag/rifle. The nordic extensions have run flawless for me also. Got the 40 because I have heard stories of them coming apart when abandoning them in a barrel or something.
  21. Yes they can but how many people do you hear about getting into 3-gun without any equipment? Yes some but I'm willing to bet that the majority has an ar and some 30 round mags laying around. For shotgun you can't buy a 12 round tube stock. The 930(not that i would buy one) or the versamax come with 8 or 9 round tubes. Buying a 12 rounder is extra money to get into the game. Don't get me wrong I have gotten caught up in the newest and greatest gear craze before and probably won't stop because I do like cool things I just think it can be intimidating for new shooters coming to a match and thinking they have to have all of this new equipment to play the game. I'm going to play no matter what, the above is just my opinion.
  22. +1 for Omar. Also make sure to get the switchview from him at the same time. It will save you some $$ and I think its a necessity with how stiff the power knob turns.
  23. This is what I ment to say. Powerslide just said it ALOT better. lol
  24. I'm in favor of the 30 round rifle, 140mm pistol, and 8+1 in shotgun because I think it makes a more even playing field. Like you said Jesse, most people all ready have 30 round ar mags and 140 pistol mags. With some of the stuff now days it becomes somewhat of a gear race and not as much about who the actual better shooter/stage planner is. IMO open is for the gear race.
  25. No they don't make you sign a non-disclosure agreement. What's wrong with calling Omar and asking him? He's a great guy to work with. Besides prices change.
