  1. Where and when can we sign in? Can we walk the stages Thursday? Can we find out about squads and schedule prior to sign in?
  2. AWESOME match!! I didn't realize til tonight how totally exhausted I was, thank's Joe. Squad 5 was unbelievable!! Congratulations and thank you all for letting us tag along.
  3. JD go for it, it was a great match last year. Me and my wife and son shot it and we only started 3 gun less than a year ago. If you want to shoot some natural terain it's great. The prize table was AWESOME!!
  4. I've run across problems with brand new Pmags before. Fill em up and shoot em a time or two and see if that fixes it. If it's not a mag problem there's already been plenty of good advice.
  5. I saw the VM Reaper at Cabela's in Allen TX 2 days ago if anybody is looking.
  6. I switched over to them last summer and haven't really had too many problems. When I go prone they are easier on my fat gut than the MME's were but every once in awhile I will knock a few shells loose. And, sometimes depending on how much squirming and such you do they can turn more sideways. Just make sure you keep them tight and practice getting into and out of positions.
  7. We probably won't know which rotation til we get there will we? I ask because I'm going to have to put my truck in the shop tomorrow and I'm trying to figure out an alternative if it's not out quick.
  8. When can we check in on Thursday? If I can't make it Thursday how early do I need to be there Friday? What is the format, I can't remember, shoot one, watch one?
  9. Since there are tubes available now I'm thinking about getting a Vinci for my wife to use in 3 gun but I'm concerned about the recoil. I'v heard that they are really soft shooting and I've also heard there isn't any difference until you get to the magnum loads. I know recoil is subjective and hard to quantify sometimes but she is used to the Versa Max which has a soft push. My M2 with it's faster harsher recoil beats her up. Even the CZ 712 is too much. Where does the Vinci fit in?
  10. My 14yr old worked, traded and saved since these came out and finally got his last week. He shot it yesterday in it's first match. Nothing but smiles since. We had a long range stage with La Rues from 320 to 500 and a 20+ head wind, he got 3 of the 4. It took him a little bit to get on on the clock but after the match he shot it again and was pinging them, he could hit the 500 as soon as it came back up! Talk about an equalizer, especially for a kid who ran an Eotech last year.
  11. Off topic question, are the bluebonnets usually in bloom by match time?
  12. My wife, son and I all three got in Pro! Yee Haw!!! Awesome Blaise.... Yall coming down for the TX Multigun? Just Julie and I, Stone has State tests and A's are more important. I can't figure out how to qoute and paste yet bear with me.
  13. Since this thread started about whether or not a classification system is needed in 3gun my answer to that is, not really. Not from a new shooters stand point. Like Mr. Payne said most of us are just concerned with finishing the match and not coming in last until we get some experience. We come to shoot for different reasons the first time but if we stay in the game it's to get better and have FUN. It's not hard to figure out after a few matches where you "rank" next to "Bob" and "Fred". From there it's our choice to go to a major and learn about the "Horner Factor" first hand, lol. I understand the "want" to make a match where the bottom 200 get a better prize. Make it a random draw then and we just shoot to shoot. No pressure, just a day at the range. If people want to start excluding shooters because they are better and don't want to get beat that's B.S. This game is the best thing my family and I have ever found. We have only been competing less than a year and it's had it's up's and down's but one thing it teaches and reinforces is that nothing in life is free, it takes work and dedication. The prize table should reflect it or just give out door prizes. If you want to draw more newcomers in why not start at the local level. Get a sponsor like Tarheel has and give something away every month. When the new folks do show up with their M4 and aimpoint make their prize table appropriate. A 75% finish overall shouldn't walk away with less than a 55% finisher did just because they chose to shoot a different division. These are all just my stupid opinions and I'm just a guy with a 3gun family. We will keep going to as many majors as we can and we'll be happy. If we can't win something we need or something to help us out in some way that's alright, I'm sure we'll learn something and have a ton of laughs sooner or later.
  14. Will we get an Email if we were lucky enough to get in or do I just wait and see if my check get's cashed?
  15. One of my favorite books since I was a kid. I couldn't get my boy to read it so we watched twice.
  16. Black silicone works well when you want to get rid of the rear FO
  17. Team Sanford's apps just went in the mail. The rules for the team event only said one optic so why couldn't I load 14 in my M2, it doesn't have an optic?
  18. Awesome match Jeremy!! Good job buddy!! I wish we could have made it for the first one, I'm sure they are only going to get better. Stoney really wanted that hat, lol.
  19. GREAT MATCH!! Awesome time of the year, BEAUTIFUL. Thank's Ted, Mark, Bryan, Fred, Deb, and everyone else involved. Give yourselves a big pat on the back for a job very well done. We showed up late, we couldn't get our $&/* together after the beep, ran backwards more than forwards, and laughed and had more fun and had more personal/ team victory's at this match than any other thus far. It's always good to see our (new) old friends and meet new new friends even if I can't always remember your name even after a half dozen matches, my appologies. Shooting as a family, especially 3gun, may not be for everyone but it sure is awesome. Thank's ALL. Thank's to Mossberg for donating the JM Pro. It just put some super sweet icing on the cake for our little Jr shooter. We'll see you all before next years match I'm sure but you WILL see us at MVSA again! THANK'S AGAIN!
  20. Awesome!! I'll be ordering one before Christmas, if not two.
  21. I've got an M2 with 21"bbl and 12rd tube, love it. Sticks out about 18" but it sure balances and swings better than the 8rd tube that's flush. The wife has a 10rd Xrail one piece tube on her Versa that's flush with the 26" bbl, no problems whatsoever, you can even screw the Nordic nut on the end and add as big of an extension as you'd like, lol.
