  1. So you're interpreting this to mean that as long as there are 2000 units somewhere, and 1 of them is available to the general public somewhere the gun is legal? Even though the other 1999 units are not available to the general public? I think it means that 2000 have been produced, also that those 2000 units have been in some way available to the general public.
  2. Does the in person meeting generate more productivity? I guess I don't understand why a video conference via skype or something similar isn't good enough, or why (if at all) the satellite meetings aren't just as productive as a face to face meeting? or am I missing something?
  3. So anyone out there that has found a FNS-9 Competition? I think it's an interesting design and I'd like to see one in person to decide if it's worth the hype.
  4. no you're good having 10 in the mag and 1 in the tube to start a stage. the other guy is not topping his 10rounders off before he starts, but rather stripping the 10th round off his third mag to "barney"
  5. so is one of the mags on your belt not loaded to 10 rounds? I would also look at why the magazine is falling out. check out kytex gear, $15 a pouch and the mag isn't going anywhere. YES IT ONLY HAS 9 RNDS,DONT MISS YOU WONT REALLY NEED THE LAST MAG UNLESS SOMTHING GOES REALLYWRONG IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN,TRY TO CLEAR YOUR JAMS WITHOUT DROPPING YOUR MAG. You do know that's not legal right? I'm really nitpicking, but the mags have to be loaded to capacity or division limit. If you need to "barney", do it like the original Barney and pull an extra bullet out of your pocket, and stuff it into the mag after gassing up your heater.

  7. If that's the case, then why doesn't Dave just shoot the 4" gun? Amen.
  8. diehli - obesity is a disability like lung cancer from smoking is a disability That EVIL disability causing spoon/fork/knife! ha
  9. Amazing that the intricacies such as weight are garnering attention, but something so simple as 2000 units available to the public seem to be difficult to grasp.
  10. Going from gen 3 to a gen 4 pistol, the gen 4 is made for a mag release for either side. Gen 4 mags will work for gen 1-4, gen 3 or previous will only work on gen 3 or previous....I though that they would work if you had the mag release on the left on a gen 4 though You are correct. Unless he planned to move the mag release to the right side of the gun it doesn't matter what generation mags he has, they'll work. The only time gen 4 mags are a necessity is when the mag button is not on the left side of the gun.
  11. I sincerely hope you are kidding. An individual in a wheel chair I can understand an exemption, but obesity?! c'mon man!
  12. I wear those howard leights as well. I'm interested to see if there's another price/value comparable set of muff. I wear the surefire earpro plugs most of the time, but an open gun or RO'ing I like the muffs for their amplification.

    G34 springs

I clipped 1.5 coils off a 13# ISMI flat wire spring and I've had ~4 failures to return to battery in 250 rounds. I've ordered another 13# ISMI spring that I'm going to try sans the clipping. I shoot factory 115gr fmj's so I'm assuming it's not the gun. If someone says limp wrist, just no. The gun is very flat and shoots well, but this failure to return to battery is worrisome. G34 Gen 4 with ~ 600 rounds through, jager polymer guide rod.
  14. the other vendors are more of the tactical/ccw belts, but if asked are more than willing to sew in some loop piling to the inner for a small fee. DSG arms makes a very similar belt. As does OSOE gear I don't hold ill will towards the BMP guys, but I feel that their CS and ordering process needs some serious work.
  15. Have you had any contact with them in that time frame? After they went over the expected lead time I emailed them once a week if not more. I won't be ordering another belt from them, I've found other vendors that make the same belt for less and only have a week or so lead time.
  16. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. He does have other guns, as I'd assumed. I only shoot IDPA a couple times a year, otherwise I shoot production and SS in USPSA, but that was a nice slight by whoever had to mention those "passionate" IDPA folk. Follow the rules, they're fairly simple to read and easy to follow.
  17. Person A buys full blown limited gun but puts a comp on it has 140mm mags, where does he shoot at your club? Open right? but he doesn't know any better, he didn't know if he was going to shoot open he should have gotten an optic and a big stick, can he please just shoot limited this one time?!
  18. Cost of IDPA: Gun: $500 Holster: $60 Mag Pouch: $20 Total: $580 IDPA is not an expensive sport, poor argument. You don't buy a football helmet if you're going to play hockey!
  19. No one is condoning cheating... You are in fact doing exactly that, condoning someone to cheat while using a firearm that doesn't fit in the box! I said I'd let the guy shoot my rig, what more could I possibly do for this individual?! I've notified him that his equipment does not conform to the rules outlined in the rule book, I've offered him a chance to still shoot with allowable gear (my own). Do I have to give up my first born as well?! I understand trying to be a nice guy, but don't bend rules, don't pick which rules are ok to bend. If I saw a guy shooting with a 17L, I would ask what other rules are ok to break during the match! We have rules, and penalties assigned to those rules. Allowing the bend/break of one opens the floodgates for more. Follow them all or don't follow any. If you can't be bothered to follow the rules of the game you show up to play then you probably don't deserve to play. ****************Again**************** I've said countless times I'd let the guy shoot my gun or try to find someone who had similar equipment to his gun to do the same, I can't do much more for the guy.
  20. I like VCD grips, very tacky and the guy is a shooter to boot.
  21. nice straw grab, very professional. Truth of the matter boys, is that this is a game played with things that have the potential to be dangerous if used haphazardly, if someone can't be bothered to thumb through a book that outlines the how's and why's of the game I don't feel that they take the task as serious as it is. Yes it's a game, yes I have a helluva good time, but the gun in my hand is still a firearm which demands my respect. I'm not trying to be a prick, or internet tough guy, but this stuff irks me. Show up to a pickup basketball game with a medicine ball and you'll get laughed away. Bring a rugby ball to a flag football game, see what happens. ETA: I see rules arguments for xxx pages about tiny little nuances and tedium, but something so simple and plainly stated as proper firearm is ok to let slide?! you guys confuse the hell out of me sometimes.
  22. It is breaking the rules, if I were an MD I wouldn't allow someone to run a gun that's not legal. I would, however, offer them my equipment to run for the day, or see if there's another shooter that would do the same if I didn't have a similar firearm to what they wanted to shoot. I might come as a prick, but I would use some tact, I promise. We don't have to win hearts and minds, if someone is interested enough to come out and have a look, then they should consider reading the rule book. I know when I started this game (IDPA, USPSA both last year this time) I read the rule books 2-3 times and watched so many youtube video's I almost went crazy. I showed up with legal equipment and knew which division I'd be shooting. Each club set me up with a knowledgeable shooter and he mentored me all day, offering me advice and equipment to try out. Letting someone get a pass because they're new is BS. We are grown men, there's an established rule book, abide by it if you want to play, period. If your equipment doesn't align with the rules, I'll gladly loan you mine if you still wish to shoot.
  23. so because it's a local club match the rules shouldn't apply? I understand wanting to get new shooters into the game, but I'd almost guarantee that a g17L is not the only gun in a stable. I also don't like dumbing down or ignoring rules because someone's new. Play by the rules or don't play, I'll happily loan you my gun and probably even let you shoot my bullets if you ask.
  24. or you could do the right thing and follow the rules instead of outright lying or claiming ignorance.
  25. I generally wait until somebody else gets up before I mention I need another beer...
