Regarding timers, where and how do you practice? The phone ones (i run Android) are often sensitive enough for dry fire. The new wristwatch one from CED is good if you practice on a busy indoor range. It only records the shot if it's followed by a recoil impulse. That filters out other range noises. I don't care for their main spring. I modify factory springs much like the bang inc. ones. I use their 11 pound rebound springs and modify them slightly. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk

I've been looking at the Bowens too, but it doesn't appear to be avilable with a wider notch. My preference is for a .140 rear notch mated to a standard front.

I had one of those on my 627 for a while. I found it to be too fragile for my tastes, I prefer to open up the notch a bit on a factory blade.

So I've been shooting with the bottom feeders in L10 with my 627 for the last two years. Now that we have 8-shot minor, I've traded into a 5" 625. I would have loved to have it last year but it'll be a fun break from counting to 8. I'd like to swap out the sights that are on it for something taller, but I cant find a factory .160 high rear sight blade. Everywhere I look is out of stock. Do any of you know where a man might find one?

I won't be at nationals this year. I'll be celebrating my first anniversary with my wife. I wanted to make some bigger events last year, but life gets in the way. Are you running a can? Loctite softens with heat, that's how you remove the red high strength stuff. Semi auto guns can get hot enough to soften the loctite. Rocksett resists the heat but that makes it a pain to remove. I wouldn't glue on a break unless I was screwing a can to it. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk

I feel it's bad practice to install a suppressor adapter with a crush washer even if the owner doesn't currently use it with a can. The owner may acquire a suppressor or sell the rifle. You have no control of this after it leaves your shop. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk

Yup. I took it off my revolver. They are fragile and bend easily. The sight picture is good, but when they bend down you lose elevation. After I dropped a bunch of shots into hard cover on a classifier I went back to a factory blade. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk

I don't think there is much of an advantage below 7. I was running at 6 and I added a little weight back on because I found it too easy to skip by a chamber when i paused to correct a sight picture. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk

I too use a race master. There it's an insert available for a 686, which is an L frame. I do not know how well it fits the 617 which is a K frame. It is true that my N frame insert can hold a smaller gun, it's a bit loose for anything but practice. Safariland makes a holster called the 002 cup challenge. I have a box of j frame holsters. The nemesis is my pocket holster of choice. The super fly would be about the same if you pull the flap off. I think the flap is removable bit I've never owned one. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk

I've had a j frame on me nearly every day for 6 years. If you can master the trigger i don't think there is a easier gun to live with day in and day out. I carry a Safariland speed loader, but i find it harder to conceal than the gun. Moon clips, especially in 38 are imho too fragile to carry. As mentioned earlier I think they would make for more reliable ejection. The speed strips are much easier to conceal, i carried one for years. They tuck into the watch pocket on a pair of jeans nicely, but they're not particularly quick to use. No problem shooting lead that I'm aware of. I carry lead hollow point semi wadcutters in mine. I shoot a 627. I trimmed some brass to .900 and tried the same LRN bullets I shoot in my full length brass but ~1 of 8 bullets keyholed. Occasionally 2 out of 8 keyholed, so it doesn't appear to one particular chamber in the revolver. The crimp groove is so far forward that the base of the bullet is into the case web. I assume this is causing the base of the bullet to distort. I shot some reloads in the same brass that were loaded by my buddy Jim and the keyholes went away. He uses a 38 super style bullet, sized .358, that doesn't get into the web. These 160 grain bullets from Bayou Bullets do not have a crimp groove and I assume they need a taper crimp. Taper crimping for a revo is new to me, thus the question above. Jim uses a Lee FCD to crimp in his Dillon, I was just hoping to complete my loads in 3 pases through the single stage press. I like the taper crimp on the seater die in my RCBS set for .45 acp. I did find a RCBS seater die in .38 super for sale today, has anyone used one of these with trimmed .38s? I've had concerns about post sizing my ammunition with the Lee FCD. Could someone measure the inside diameter of the carbide sizing ring on their 38 super FCD?
