  1. Mr. Carmoney, I wish I had received your post earlier as I already dropped the money on the DAA. By the way the 625 I just purchased from the classifieds was worked on by you and I want to let you know that it has the best trigger pull I have ever seen. My gunsmith, worked on many a USBP ppc revolver commented on how he was impressed with your work. Thanks! That is great to hear.
  2. Unless you're running a barrel longer than 5", just go with a kydex holster like the Blade-Tech. Just as fast, and far more secure.
  3. Is there a particular brand of factory ammo that seems to create the bullet pulling problem? I think one of the primary benefits of the 929 is to be able to shoot 9mm factory ammo. If you are going to handload, it seems there are less finicky choices.
  4. Dave, Dave, Dave...... :-) I already more than just about anybody! (At least a hundred.)
  5. Good call. Hearthcos are awesome, and worth every penny they cost.
  6. The original North Mountain product (as opposed to the imitators) is tough to beat. The 4- or 5-post models are both available at www.4wheelguns.com.
  7. I ordered one from Tom, but he cancelled the order and emailed me to say they are done making them.
  8. Thanks guys! RePete sent some drawings, so we will try to make one. If that doesn't work, I will borrow one from John or Dean to get the dimensions. I have 12 or 15 good (but bent!) moonclips, and it would be a shame not to save them.
  9. Does anybody have one of these things that I could borrow for a couple weeks? They don't make them anymore. I want to measure it and make a copy for my personal use.
  10. The hand doesn't actually bend, but may put uneven wear on the hand window in the frame, creating the difference from right to left. It's almost impossible to bend a hand without applying heat with a torch.
  11. Don't tell me you are coming to the dark side. ☺ Not until I'm old and washed-up.
  12. My next open ICORE rig will have a C-More in a sideways mount.
  13. Thanks to Rich Richards for donating several items for our random drawing. Thanks also to Bob Perdue at North Mountain for donating a bunch of great items--be sure to visit www.4wheelguns.com for the best in revolver-related products.
  14. I share your disappointment with the shooter who contested another competitor's score--that is not something I have ever seen done, before or since. On the other hand, the other competitor--who knew he been given a freebie, although he certainly never asked for it--should have simply owned his miss and not signed an incorrect sheet. Frankly, there never should have been a reshoot of that stage, but ultimately it didn't really change anything. We were talking about Matt Griffin. Matt was not involved in any of that little saga. I'm sure Matt would agree that we were not subjected to some sort of huge case of broken morale--we simply shrugged and moved on to the next stage. Furthermore, I am very confident that Matt would not have accepted a perfect double on a later stage--that's not how he would have wanted to "slay the white whale."
  15. That is the Board's call. (Nate is on the board, of course.)
  16. I was there. Paul Hyland's write-up was partially correct. Olhasso received a perfect double, and that call was protested--but it wasn't "the squad" who protested, it was one particular shooter. That situation, while an interesting side note, did not affect the ultimate match results.
  17. Fair enough. I will look forward to a PM on this. I am not aware of any issues.
  18. Matt has finished an extremely close second to Jerry at Nationals not once, but twice. I was squadded with them both years. What's all this about "not a clean race"? Please explain.
  19. Results are posted on Practiscore and the ICORE website. Same winners as last year: Open -- Rich Wolfe Limited -- Mike Carmoney Classic -- Troy Mattheyer Cliff Walsh won the USPSA 625 Challenge match on Sunday. Mike Carmoney won the high aggregate King of Revo trophy. The King is dead. Long live the King.
  20. It works anywhere the 625 works. I have one cut for clips and load 44 Russian. Meh....those thin, fragile moonclips do not work as well as .45 ACP moons.
  21. A frame is a gun, parts removed or not. Sending it as machine parts is a good way to get in some trouble. +1 And if lost or stolen, the carrier is not going to replace it. You're not going to get in trouble misrepresenting it to a common carrier like UPS or Fedex to avoid the overnight requirement--they just won't honor the insurance if it gets lost. But don't try to ship a handgun frame via USPS, that is a federal violation.
  22. Glad to see people are including a Pro-Am style stage in ICORE matches. To my knowledge, our Iowa matches were the first ICORE matches to incorporate such a stage--or were other clubs doing the same thing before us?
  23. Don't count on that, Ty. Start looking for cheap flights to Florida.Just sayin'......
  24. Dean, that's pretty much what we're doing next weekend in Ankeny--10 stages of ICORE on Saturday and 10 stages of USPSA on Sunday!
  25. I've heard Mike speak about L10 several times and he always says that is was a division created to solve a problem that no longer exists ... it's pretty obvious what he plans to do when he talks like that .... Not so simple though right? he will need majority of the board to go along with that decision to make it happen. Anyone have any idea if there is BOD support for removing it? I heard the podcasts too, he clearly wants to kill L10 and would probably kill revolver if he thought he could get it done but he also said based on sitting in on bod meetings that it is very clear the BOD is loathe to taking anything away from the membership. I think the rules or bylaws or something say they can only make one division change every 2 years? That 1 change will be the presumptive addition of carry optics/prod I would assume, but it will be a new el prez an partially new BOD making that vote which mike seems to also have disdain for so who knows. I am troubled by this post. I don't believe Mike Foley has ever said one word that suggests he would favor eliminating Revolver Division. That's fair, I never said it was a direct statement, it's just what I think which is worth nothing. I'm voting for Mike in any case. I personally don't believe any divisions including l10 will be eliminated. If you want to hear directly from Mike Foley how he views Revolver Division, the discussion starts at roughtly 59:00 in this podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXNJZz2IhKA (Spoiler: Mike is our friend, and strongly supports the future of the revolver in USPSA competition.)
