  1. I found that the surplus grenade pouches can hold 3 enblocs. I used 2, one forward and one aft of my holster. Worked OK, but even better when I flipped the flap over and behind the belt. Just using the molle webbing may be even better, but I worry about them falling off, because I'm such an athlete and fleet of foot you know. There is no way I'll be competitive with a Garand, but sometimes it's just more satisfying to have the most fun. That said, I still want to increase my speed reloading. I'll come up with something. Too bad the guys that know how to load it fast are about all gone.
  2. Here's a stage from a Rockcastle club match. I'm pretty slow but it was the first time I tried the Garand. It was about the most fun I've had shooting 3 gun! Rockcastle club match:
  3. That is assuming you are running that number live fire and at least that much in loading practice. I'm not sure what this "practice" is you speak of...lol!
  4. Looks like I need to buy a spare. 10 round tube approaching 1000 rounds.
  5. What are the symptoms, if any, that time has come for the spring to be replaced? I'm not having any issues with my M3000, but rather not get caught unprepared. Thanks, B
  6. 3 gun, yes, USPSA, maybe, Steel Challenge or National Match, nope.

I thought this was going to be about Spam. I like Spam, fried with mayo on white bread.
  8. Here is the real advice, don't test your ammo at a match. Especially, don't test slugs at a match.
  9. Cycling issues prevented me from debuting the Garand until this month. Think I'm ready now, tho. Found I can fit 3 en blocs in a grenade pouch.
  10. I just received a little over 300 .30-06 rounds. There is no way I would shoot them in my Garand, so I'm pulling the bullets. Is there a safe way to remove the primers that's not readily aparent to me? I figure if nothing else, I'll just cycle them through the rifle. Thanks, B
  11. I'm plenty new to the 1911 platform. I have no idea what I need in terms of bullet profile /weight. All I know is I need major PF and will mostly shoot 3 gun HM and maybe dabble in single stack. So, will it be the man sized 230 grain RN, or is there something better? Thanks, B
  12. I'm looking for ideas to carry half a dozen 8 round Garand enbloc clips for 3 gun. I'm going to try a couple M67 grenade pouches, but it's at best a short term solution. Anybody have anybody have experience with this? Thanks, B
  13. I'm going to try a battle belt for heavy metal. Still working out how to attach mag holders and shell caddies. I think Safariland has a backer that fits molle, but I'm not sure.
  14. Welcome! Always nice to have another BBN member!
  15. Best advice I have is to shoot whichever is most fun for you. Obviously Practical is most populated. But it really comes down to doing what you enjoy most, at least for me.
  16. Welcome! Check out orpci.org for matches near Owensboro. First multi-gun is March 27 and 28. Shoot either day or both in different divisions. Also USPSA on March 21.
  17. My Mossberg experience was sadly not very good. If you can put $1500 towards a shotgun, you should spend another $500 and look at getting a Rose Action Sports Benelli all tricked out. JMHO
  18. Seriously, I would get the M2 and start off by adding a Nordic tube. You'll be in the game, and have a solid base for whatever competition treatment you decide to go with. I really like my Stoeger, and it's what I can afford right now. I only added the mag tube and had Rose Action Sports finish the load port, weld the lifter, and smooth out some minor stuff. All the oversize buttons and handles aren't going to win me any matches, so I opted for Spartan improvements. I would do the same if I had the M2.
  19. Exactly! PS. I didn't think you, or anyone else, considered Stoegers as turds. Sorry if you misunderstood
  20. In my world, I would buy the best that I could afford. There is no doubt that an M2 is superior to the Stoeger, but that doesn't make the Stoeger a turd. I had a turd, it's no fun finishing every match with a back up 870.
  21. While my previous post was a bit tongue in cheek, this is probably some of the best advice I've seen. While I do practice loading quads, if I absolutely must hit the reload, I always configure for twins.
  22. Took me about 30 seconds to learn to quad load. Now getting all 4 in the tube? That's still a work in progress. LOL!
