  1. M1Garrand. I love the feel, the weight, wood, all of it! It's the culmination of rifle perfection for me. I rue the day I let mine go... But I have to shoot, too! B
  2. Zero Day by David Balducci. Right now it kinda seems like Jack Reacher
  3. I would think the factory spring would be fine. I only changed after testing what worked best. B
  4. Stock is 18#. I use 16# for minor loads. B
  5. Is there a difference between the two? Shooters Connection lists both, but DOH is special order, and that is what I think I want for Production. But, if they are the same, I can do without waiting on the color I want. Thanks, B
  6. Facing the same thing with a favorite horse. For now he isn't suffering, but not thriving either. Such a good friend, taught my daughter to ride and grow up....
  7. I have to work harder than them. For pure marksmanship, I'll just say I have much more experience. My youngest looks like a pro going through a COF, slick mag changes, economy of movement, and a ton of delta-mikes. The other shoots well, but loses his plan after the buzzer goes off. I have my own issues, but I practice, and, well, they are still in bed.

Stay strong, really I have no words. I don't personally know any of you, but you all have my prayers. We lost the battle 7 years ago, but ultimately I'm sure she won the war..
  9. My boys, so full of potential and confidence, think my dry firing and winter practice drills are less than worthwhile, and even a point of good natured ridicule. Why do I like this? Because I am so gonna kick their collective butts in 6 weeks! Bahahaha!
  10. Working in the lab, setting up a paint and sand blast booth oh and competing in a few Tae Kwan Do matches(keep my mind off of reloading) with the kids and oh ya making Babies ! my wife is exspecting our 5th child thanks for asking... Never a dull moment at the Aguilera"s Or you can do like me, break your shoulder in a TKD match, have surgery, be laid up for 4 months, and then maybe everything will be back in stock! B
  11. I shoot at Buds gun shop on Thursday and at the Blue grass pistol club when I can manage to get a Sunday off Tell Tony to bring you to orpci and shoot a match, he is to pasty white, he has been in the AC to long.....lol.... +1 on orpci! Welcome! B
  12. I started out with the "generic" type powders. Then after a few hundred rounds, and much asking and research, here in the caliber specific reloading forum as well as reloading manuals, started to develop a load to suit my needs. It's still a work in progress, and since I shoot Production, learned that my pistol works better with a lighter recoil spring with minor PF loads. There is extremely good information here, but cross reference everything with a published manual. A typo by someone concerning OAL can lead to big problems. I'll be quick to add I've seen that sort of thing fixed pretty quickly, though. As a final thought, make sure while reading in the forum, the load data your about to steal is being used in a similar way you wish to use it. For instance, a .40 loaded long to make major in an open gun isn't suitable for my XDm. Ask, ant you will learn! B
  13. The Pulse of Allah, by James Knight. So far OK, about Iran unleashing an EMP device. Few typos but it's not killing me...yet B
  14. Thanks, I feel much better about my pistol now. Later on I can dedicate this one only for match shooting. B
  15. 99.99999% of the time, I'll be shooting minor loads out of my .40 XDm. With the Wolf 16# spring installed, would it be reliable if, God forbid, I needed to shoot factory defensive rounds? Thanks, B

Kentucky conversation concerning supper: Jeet yet? Nope, jew? Nope, yanna? Yup Ahite, lesgo.
  18. I have chrono'ed the rounds and PF is 144. Going from 18# to 16# on the XDm's and 17# to 15# on the XD. Still going to try to get down to 130ish PF in load development.
  19. Especially when all I want is 4.....
  20. What about the ancillary gear? I shoot USPSA, and have the bare minimum holster and mag pouches. But what do I need for 3-gun? Don't want to show up with cargo pockets full of AR mags and shotshells in my front pockets. Thanks, B
  21. Go it is! Pretty sure by then we will have another local match in as well. I don't know about other beginners, but we always feel a little self-conscious at a match, especially with getting on a squad. It's easy to throw one new guy on, but I'm sure four of us is another challenge all together! Thanks for the encouragement! B
  22. My family has an average of 4 local matches under our belts. This spring there is a big match in Kentucky. Should we get more experience before shooting big matches? B
