  3. $3.99/100 - While Graf's is as challenged as anyone else right now, they have held the line on pricing. That alone keeps me checking them on a periodic basis.
  4. Spur of the moment visit to Graf's Reloading after a doctor visit in St. Charles today I found limited quantities of SR, LR, SP, LP primers. SR and LP are limited to 100 per customer per visit, but I was able to grab 1000 CCI #300 LP primers, purchase limited to 1000, today. Otherwise, picked clean with very little factory ammo other than shotgun and odd calibers like 9X18 and .327. Some components, but limited choices there too. By far better'n nothing though.
  5. Received today, full order. 23 days after my confirmation email from Brian.
  6. Ordered a 550b in .38/.357, strong mount, bullet and loaded ammo trays on 2/5. Order ack from Brian, nothing yet.
  7. I have one from Home Depot with the wrapped top, upper shelf, and drawers. Sturdy enough but will need to be attached to a wall to be stable. That is complicated by the rear overhang, but it's possible. I'm using mine in an apartment, so I have not tied it to the wall. Right now I am running a RockChucker off one side which is solid and uses the lateral mass of the bench vs fore-to aft. It's stable, though cramped. These are thin and tinny until assembled. Stack-on didn't use an ounce of extra steel here.

  9. Curious why none of the stats referenced are from any year beyond 2005 though. 8 years is an eternity statistically...
  10. Found it today too. I just wish that my provider carried Sportsman Channel in HD...
  11. Dedicated. But I can't help but think that the term "cheek weld" has a completely different meaning at -10.
  12. Negative sir, I'm in-complex when I do this. Would never be out walking on the side of the road in bad weather. Even though we get frequent snow and ice here in MuSoorUh, NOBODY seems to have even the minimal driving skills necessary to cope.

    CD packaging

Pop the cover free from the hinge side, then peel off the seal. Works first time, every time, problem solved. Mods - yep, I know this is for hate but when you see a problem you can solve, resistance is futile.
  14. Then there's crazy people like me who won't drive a car a 1/4 mile to the mailbox. I'd rather walk in the 40-50mph wind and thunder snow, I'm so cheap! What I hate is the fact that I did that and the mailbox was empty today! Arrrrgggghhhh!
  15. Midway backordered on all mags. I managed to get an order in for a couple of MagPul 30's from Cabela's and now everything they show on line is "SOLD OUT". Meaning, I suppose that they don't intend to restock? Just praying I can get some once-fired .223 brass in my stockpile before it all dries up too. I'd like to have about 2k on the shelf, just in case.
  16. Restricting lawful ownership won't fix it. As usual the press and "our" representatives focus on a quick fix instead of dealing with the real issue; lack of availability of appropriate mental health care. Read this one over, I have some experience with this morass, my father was a raging bipolar in his last years and it was a nightmare getting any help at all. http://anarchistsoccermom.blogspot.com/2012/12/thinking-unthinkable.html
  17. Lacquer sticks are as close as your neighborhood hardware store.
  18. Part of my wrap-up from divorce was to take over the mortgage on our formerly joint asset, the "home". I don't live there yet, and won't 'til June of 13, hence it ain't my home - yet. I finally closed after nearly 4 months of headaches, just wrong quit claims from the title company, not once but 3 times. I got to pay them for that "service" and had to write my own to get it right for my state of residence. If that was all. This was a HAMP refi, which is supposed to have not much more than an application fee and minimal pre-paids. Because of the change in title, I had to make SIGNIFICANT pre-paids, coughing it up 3-4 days before closing. Not the least bit stressful. Nope, not a bit. I lie. I closed on absolutely the last possible day before another house payment would be due. On a Friday afternoon. My loan funded on the 12th, but they didn't get around to fully processing the paperwork until the 17th. Tag me for another month of interest and PMI. Thanks, I needed that. I was informed that the prepaid went up because they couldn't transfer my escrow from the old note, to the new. It wasn't legal. Wanna guess what happened next? Yup, they transferred it anyway. I asked to the wrongfully transferred escrow to be refunded and they were kind enough to cut a check within 4 days of the request. The check never arrived, it was stolen and cashed. Got that resolved. Only a little added stress, a criminal complaint with my local PD and I didn't lose a cent, just hair. I was then informed that I had to pay my own property taxes this year. Stressed about that. What did I learn today? You guessed it. They paid my property taxes out of escrow after telling me they would not and could not. Something to be said for consistency. NOTHING THEY TOLD ME TURNED OUT TO BE THE WAY IT WORKED... Go figure.
  19. Yessir, and now Dad needs to get off his behind and do the same. I believe that whether I make the decision to carry or not, I should exercise the right. Nothing like a little family competition to crank it up.
  20. She called me this weekend to inform me that she took the CCW training, passed, and submitted her app for a carry permit. I don't usually hear from her unless she is sick, is in a bind, or needs money. Having a little common ground works wonders. Her instructor said that she is skilled beyond her experience. A natural. Daddy strut...
  21. Why yes, yes it was. I somehow managed to win. THANKS FOR THE TIP!
  22. Our relationship in her teen years was pretty rocky. It didn't help that my marriage was dying a slow agonizing death in the same timeframe. She's matured greatly since then and I suspect that in her eyes I've gotten a lot smarter. Typical parent/child stuff but I count this experience as a significant breakthrough for us. Nox' I sincerely hope you can share that interest for a lifetime, it will bring you closer together. Niceash, yes it is especially at your daughter's age. Most of the time they want to get as far away from us as possible, don't they?
  23. Jax, Ayup, don't let them bogue our groove...
