It's also an easy drive to MidwayUSA, so when those small lots of .22LR come in, I've been able to score often even though I'm only driving out there one weekend a month right now. Will-call is so much cheaper than shipping.

Lol to both. But here's the kicker. I'm moving to Centralia, MO when we marry. Where is that? Just a few miles up the road from Green Valley Gun Club, home of the Bianchi Cup. I'll be in the same county so I'll be eligible for a full membership and If I ask her for a membership for my birthday, she'll hand me one on my birthday. After 26+ years of misery with a credit-card-addicted shopaholic shrew, and 5 years single, I found my lifetime match the second time around at 58. Our wedding date is the anniversary of our first date. We're like that, finding ways to attach life events significant in our relationship to other events. Oh and she's not a shooter, but wants to learn...

  4. Jerry Miculek April Fools video. Classic! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrJRSf55zsE&feature=youtu.be
  5. Congratulations! Working on round 2 myself.
  6. And half of them have the little pop-up nipple "Sport top". Oral fixation anyone?

    peanut butter

Gimme a jar that says "Peanuts and a little salt", chunky or smooth. I don't care it's all peanuts and nothing else. Honest food.
  8. Not to mention posting this question three times in the same sub-forum. Patience is a virtue, as is a clean browser. Time to clear you cache.
  9. The advertising is painful, but from someone who is about to fall face-first into 60, online dating brought me the LOML at a time where I was ready to give up. From a free site, no less. All it takes is one - the right one. Awright, y'all go back to talking about molesting farm animals and whatnot....
  10. Primers locally for me. Piles and piles of as many sleeves as I care to buy. And I found 4# of W231 when I was reconciled to having to wait for 1# to come in. Oh happy day!
  11. Push-through vs push on knobs are available from McFeely's right now, single quantities .70 each and 5 or more at .56 each. $1.00 flat-rate UPS ground shipping if ordered via WEB. I'm giving this a try and will report back how well the work when I get them. http://www.mcfeelys.com/product/JKE-1836/516-Snap-Lock-Star-Knob >edit - lysdexic Sunday issues
  12. My son almost left this world three times before he was even alive for 24 hours. Today, we are celebrating his 22nd birthday. Life isn't easy for him, he suffers from developmental delays and manifested early-onset primary dystonia at 9 years old and continues to degenerate from day to day. It takes fistfulls of drugs to get him through each day and he will never earn a living or survive unassisted. Yet, he is the kindest and considerate man I know. I am proud of who he has grown up to be. Every year I get to spend with him on this earth is a gift I can never repay. S'all I got today. Seems to be enough.
  13. Yabbut, I think that Aston will be whole lot less maintenance when complete. No need for touch-ups or adjustments as time goes by at a minimum.
  14. Xenforo. License fees are lower and it just plain works and looks better...
  15. Neat! An Aston-Martin DB4, no less. http://www.replicadb4.com/default.aspx

    Coming Soon

I'd post something but it would be a rebuttal so instead I'll agree - I hate lazy web coders.
  17. The trailers didn't do a whit for us. We're doing RIPD tomorrow instead. I know, I know, nothing but a MIB/Wild, Wild West in present day hybrid but we were in the mood for something mindless just not quite to the Power Rangers meet KloneGodzilla level.
  18. Wouldn't you know... After being rescheduled three times for July delivery (and uncounted times before that), it arrived early. Right in the middle of me paying off some items and getting clobbered with a broken garage door. Things will be a smidge thin until next payday. Boy do I hate UPS Mail Innovations shipping. Lousy tracking and then the sending of a package through Moose Testicle, ND when I live less than 2 hours from MidwayUSA. Yeah now that makes all the sense in the world to me.
  19. Only question there is understanding what the benefit is to fitting a spacer over just using a standard-length carbine buffer tube and buffer (which I already have)? Not having to grind out the staking and replace the backplate and/or castle nut?
  20. At one point I was gullible enough to believe it was going to arrive and be shipped so I staked the castle nut. Oh well...
  21. I've been stuck in backorder limbo since February waiting on a standard weight A5 buffer to finish this carbine. I'm on the verge of building a mid-length setup instead as my order has been delayed for umpteenth time. I have the extended buffer tube and rifle-length buffer spring, with a CTR-S stock already, bought only because the buffer was due "in a couple of weeks", in excess of 4 months later still hanging with an incomplete AR due to that impossible to source part. Are there any sources for the buffer out there? My searches have come up with nothing. Instead of fixing what's not quite right, think I'll build a complete new mid upper and just cancel the backorder. Ya' gotta know when to fold 'em. Maybe next year...
  22. My dad crewed on the transport that carried Hemingway, then a correspondent for Collier's Magazine, to Omaha beach on AP-67, Dorothea L Dix, AKA "Dirty Dottie". The ship and one of his crewmates, Richard "Highpockets" Daschle, is mentioned in Stephen Ambrose's novel "D-Day". I can't imagine the horror he worked around in the days following the invasion, he was pressed into service landing trucks and equipment after the beach was won.
  23. That was a good sequence. I think creating the "human analogue" hand was as interesting as proving/disproving the myth itself.
  24. HighLife23, you're welcome. That stuff was so foul that a white vinegar pre-soak couldn't put a dent in the stank, but between 4oz of baking soda per load and a shot of oxy-clean, they're now sunshine fresh. Epic save.
  25. I've come back several times to re-read it, just to keep my head in the right space. I'm happy it gave something back as well.
