  1. That makes sense. The mag catch is worn and the mag doesn't seat high enough and then you get nose dives on the ramp. Thanks for posting the solution.

    Light hits?

The non-factory ammo may have some high primers or just hard primers. Most people like the reduced power striker spring, but I've had bad luck with them. I clip off about 1.5 coils off the stock spring and it lightens the trigger and still ignites everything.
  3. Flex - I totally ageee with your comments re internal versus external improvement. All I'm saying is that it's easier to load a fat gun. I looked at the 2004 Area results and (I may be wrong so someone correct me if I am) - no shooter won L10 with a single stack. You guys can reason that away, but it is what it is. BTW - I expect to see all you guys shooting single stacks in L10 this season
  4. True. However if you have two shooters of the same skill shooting the stage the same way with three reloads - then it does make a difference.
  5. Yes. I agree. It's possible, but not probable, at least at the bigger matches. Bigger matches? What is the difference? Flex, If my memory serves me right, I beleive all or most of the L10 winners at the State and Area matches I've been to were shooting S_I's. That's my point. Bottom line is that reloading is a huge part of L-10 (and Prod) and it's a real advantage in reloading to have a fat gun. Sure - there are some poeple that can reload a single stack as fast as a fat gun, but they're the exception. You may disagree, but remember that you made GM in LTD with a Glock with no magwell. Accordingly - YOU are one of those exceptions.
  6. Yes. I agree. It's possible, but not probable, at least at the bigger matches. I really think that changing L10 to a single stack division will be a magnet for new shooters to our sport - which is a very good thing!
  7. Agreed. I think IDPA CDP is the same and allows all single stacks.
  8. Thanks Tom. Do the 1/2 IPSC targets swing or move a lot when you shoot them? How close will you shoot the plates? 10 yards? Thanks.
  9. That's funny - I had a similar experience when I started shooting USPSA with a talented, experienced shooter. His name was Roger Kooi.
  10. I’m interested in some ½ size steel IPSC targets from practice. I’m considering Arntzen steel targets and stands: Arntzen Targets Anyone have any experience with them? I’m wondering if the target stands will hold up if accidentally shot . . . Any thoughts appreciated.
  11. Congrats and well done! Kudos to CZ for supporting the sport! BTW - what's the difference between the SP-01 and the 85C?
  12. Here, here and wow!! What a great post! Many, many excellent points! I vote we pin this one. Thanks Shannon. Cy
  13. This is a good point. We should not be quick to judge when we don't know all the facts or the department requirements for the officer. As Pat said, it sounds like it was handled professionally. That's the end of it. I've had similar events with Atlanta PD and the officers were also very professional and courtious.
  14. Chris, I had the same issues as you're having last year with my 35. It only happened on the last few rounds in the mag. I put in fresh ISMI mag springs and new followers and it still happened, although very infrequently. It never happened with the 10 round mags. Funny thing is that it would NEVER happen with my G22 using the same mags. I now shoot the G22 in LTD - not because of the phantom feeding issues - I just like it better.
  15. Unless you don't have a dominant eye L2S - we must have the same eyes. My eyes are exactly the same in strength and very close in dominance. Optics or shotgun - I can use both eyes. Iron sighted pistols - I squint the left eye. I CAN shot a pistol with both eyes open, but I'm a lot slower and far less confident in what I see. I wonder if there's such a thing as "learned dominance" - teaching you right eye (assuming you're right handed) to be more dominant. I'll just keep squinting for now.
  16. I totally agree with that. Production would be more fun for me if you didn't have to constantly reload!
  17. Paul, Are the gas ports standard diameter on your 17" uppers or do you enlarge them? Thanks.
  18. I vote no, but like the idea of making L-10 a single stack only division. Go ahead and start flaming me now!
  19. John, I'm not qualified to comment on Commander vs. cut Gov't. I can tell you that I have a Major 9 with a Commander slide built by J.L. I've read that the longer stroke of the cut Gov't adds to reliablity, but my Commander runs 100% and feels great to me. Recoil impulse and dot tracking are subjective and vary shooter to shooter, so try to shoot your buddies' guns to see what works for you. If you're ever in GA, you can shot mine.
  20. I believe 3 of the top 4 finishers at the 2004 Nationals used a Glock. I don't know how you measure "winningest," but that's pretty good. It's also worthwhile to note that shooters using Berettas and CZs did well too.

    Holsters

Hey! Don't confuse this issue with logic! I'm one of those weirdos who shoots the carry gun from the IWB holster with full power factory ammo and often wears a vest in public. Well, I don't use the vest for actual concealment (my shirt does that), but I like to wear it for the pockets and the way it makes me feel about myself.

    Holsters

Just only allow IWB holsters and be done with it! VERY few people actually shoot their carry gun AND their carry rig in competition AND their carry ammo (or it's recoil equivalent). I know there's a few that do, but they're few and far between. Additionally, VERY few people actually conceal their rigs like they do in competition either. Anytime I see a photographers-vest clad guy out in public . . . So really - what's the point?
