  1. Check them out: H-520, the 40 S&W pad that makes 19 + 1 rounds possible in EAA / Tanfoglio magazines H-400, my factory replacement pad that feels better in my hands when I reload H-170, put an aluminum pad on your 170 magazine to achieve 29 + 1 rounds ! Great pictures of the pads taken by Sander Micaelsen. The H-400 Reload pad shown: Go check it out here
  2. H-520 IPSC BOX 19 Round H-400 RELOAD H-170 IPSC OPEN Pads as well as Pad/Follower/Spring kits are now available in my store. Also have complete magazines. Get Them Here!
  3. If you email me or place a custom order so I have all your info and put in the comment field what you're looking for I can get it to you. It's just that I've been gone for a month and haven't had the time to add it to my store yet. Thursday eve I'm off to Missouri to shoot the US Area 3. Back Sunday night. Yeah, just place a custom order for $1 and comment what you want. That'll give me all your shipping and payment info. I can get it out tomorrow and Thursday.
  4. Leo's right, it's different trigger guards. I believe I have a spare trigger block for Tanfoglio. Call me.
  5. Hey Dave, This forum is not just about products I sell. The idea is to be able to have a place to discuss and share information regarding EAA / Tanfoglio pistols. And if there happen to be a great product that I didn't know about and others should know about, please let us know. If I like it, I'll start carrying it.
  6. Rob, I think if you switch safeties you're breaking the rules of Production, right ? The mags will interchange, but take a look at the magwell of the Limited. It has a bad fit, I've noticed since the newer mag wells came out (slightly different shade of aluminum finish), there's a tab sticking into the magazine opening. I've had to file down all the new ones to make the 10mm mags fit into a 40 s&w limited. Not a big deal, but something the factory should have caught. I notified Tanfoglio when we talked at the Europeans in France. I'm going to write an article about it on my Tech Forum as well... just not right now. Let me know if this is not the case and I'll look further into it. In which case you should probably call me since I don't even own a Stock II.
  7. awesome. They left Friday 5th and he should probably have the package end of next week.
  8. btw. all US backorders for spring kits were shipped out today too. And I didn't have the email address to C. Van Diepen (CRO from Holland at the Europeans). If you know him, let him know the 8 spring/kits are in the mail.
  9. I'm shipping the new follower & spring kits today to several of you guys overseas. I've sent email about it, but I don't have email to Fredrik Wildemo in Sweden. If you know him, just let him know it's in the mail. Also, I don't have Roman Podlesak's email or the address I'm sending the kits to (Petr's address). I might have it somewhere once I've got everything unpacked, but if you know Roman or Petr who shoots Tanfoglio in Czech Republic, please have either of them contact me so that I can mail the kits to Petr.
  10. Hey Mr. Hoff.. The springs I put in your gun is Wolff 10lb Recoil Spring and Wolff 13lb Hammer Spring.
  11. In one of the threads today I mentioned that "[more importantly] testing in competition I found..." In my experience, testing on the range under calm, focused conditions it's easy to totally fall in love with one particular setup on my gun. But, to know for sure, I feel that I need to see how I'm actually performing under match conditions. My mind is not as calm as the competitive factor is thrown into the equation. Just a little story from the US Nationals and the IPSC Europeans.. Knowing that my power factor for IPSC is 5PF higher than US and traveling to different elevation and climate than I'm used to, I had to up my loads to make major for IPSC. I normally use a 10lb recoil spring for my Limited 40 S&W in USPSA, but was contemplating using a 12lb spring for the 175-180PF loads. I tried it in practice and it felt like it was taking up the recoil better. Maybe I just wanted it to or I had this notion in my mind that the 12lb spring would be better for the gun and for recoil management than the 10... either way I had gotten this idea that 12 could be trick. So.. I put a 12lb in for the two first days of the US Nationals and shot 175-180 PF loads to match what I was going to be shooting in France. I can honestly say that I was not in sync with my gun at all, but I stuck with it through 2 days and 9 stages in Oklahoma. I wanted to give it a fair chance to know for myself if it would be a good setup or not. Part of the process of determining what's happening is to consider that I could be off and the gun could be perfect.. Trying to be objective when all I can judge is subjective, puts a tricky spin on discipline. After two days I switched back to my 10lb and for the two remaining days of the Nationals everything felt close to normal and much better. The gun was cycling in-tune with me and I was able to shoot faster and more accurate. I still made mistakes, but I had a considerable better performance, won two stages and placed 2nd and 4th etc. I contribute this partially to regaining sync with my gun. Of course there's also the factor that as the match goes on, I get more and more comfortable and tend to shoot later into the match. Definitely an experiment that cost me this year, but now I know that for me, my loads and my EAA Limited 40, I'm always going to prefer the Wolff 10lb recoil spring. Years ago I made a note in my Diary something to the effect of "knowing what doesn't work is the narrowing down of what works" and accepting that it's an important process for me.
  12. So the pads that's made and available (on store probably this weekend): H-520: which is the IPSC BOX 19 round magazine pad. H-400: factory replacement pad and a neat reload pad (I like short mags for quick reloads) H-170: USPSA / IPSC 170.00mm magazine pad that'll give you 29 + 1 rounds in the mag. H-141: USPSA 21 round mag pad. When we made pads, I also made some that I called H-171 which is 1.25mm longer than the H-170. I made both pads to their maximum legal length without any regard to how many rounds would fit in the mags. I knew that I couldn't make any bigger magazine / pad and be legal. So, made one for IPSC and one for USPSA. It turned out I can get just as many rounds in the IPSC as the USPSA. So, from now on I'm going to make and sell 170.00mm magazines that anyone can use either in IPSC or USPSA matches and pass the rule book. And... at the Europeans they had a huge IPSC box. So... I could have made an even bigger IPSC pad for Standard 40. And I will.. I'll probably go ahead and make an H-560 or H-570 which depending on the match you go to and after testing your gun/mag in the box you'll be able to determine if they'll be legal or not. I'll need to make them first to see what'll happen, but I'm positive reloading to 19 rounds will be an easy feat.. We're at the mercy of whatever box they decide to use and the next important IPSC match for me is the World Shoot in Bali next year. I'll bring at least 3 mags with the ++ pads that I'll test there. If they pass, I'll be using them when convenient to reload to 19 rounds.. For my general safe setup I use the H-520 with a 10-coil Grams/Tanfoglio that'll securely give me 18 + 1 rounds. A complete article will be written and available on my website soon. That'll hopefully give everyone a good understanding of what to do, what to get to squeeze this sport to it's max..
  13. Mo, The only mags I have in my store is the full capacity magazines. I believe I have some used 10 round 9mm / 38 super mags with dimples. Is it legal to put a 10 round block of some sort inside the mag or does the mag body have to be cut / dimpled ? I was thinking of making a pad with a 10 round stop in it. Could be good for USPSA Production to make sure you never overload your mag as well as for Canadian shooters. What's the word on that?
  14. Julien, Congratulations on your finish at the Europeans. You did good, happy with your performance?
  15. Thx, Back so playing catch up this week / weekend. Everything will be back to normal by Monday. And next weekend is the US Area 3 in Rolla, Missouri. Shooting it with several of my buddies here in the US who also shoots the EAA Limited.
  16. Coolduckboy, Short dust cover was the norm in late 90's and if I remember correctly, the long dust cover was introduced on the Limited in '99. Johan Hansen (shoots for Tanfoglio in Sweden) saw it and wanted it on his open guns. I think he convinced them and then it was available on the Gold Teams. For a while you could order either long or short and over the course of time, the long became the choice. I personally cut the long dust covers off to short. The picture of my gun on my site [Guns] is of a cut to short dustcover. I tested both ways, had a long, a mid-cut and a short for a while. I found the gun would settle down quicker with short dust cover. For a long time I wanted the long dustcover to work better, but testing and (more importantly), competing with the short dustcover vs the mid-length it convinced me that the short was the way to go for me. I believe it will be different for different shooters, how you shoot, grip the gun etc. I don't clamp the gun down with thumb rests and finger on the trigger guard etc. I let the gun recoil in the old school style of Brian and Robbie. Eric does this differently and he currently has no competition so his style cannot be disputed. I saw him shooting a short dust cover gun at the Europeans. First person I remember using a long dust cover gun was Jay Christy of the US Army team in the mid to late 90's. I think to be able to know what's right for you, plenty of rounds should go down range to develop your ability to throw what everybody else tells you out the window and say with confidence what the gun does when you shoot it. Personally I wouldn't cut up a new gun, but shoot the hell out of it.. Julien, I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you in France. I was living in my own little world on the squad with the Norwegian Standard Team and the Czech team. Eric loved the pads and they are now available on his web site. I also got a Norwegian dealer. If anybody else is interested in becoming a dealer, please let me know. My buddy and travel partner Sander Micaelsen took some great pictures of the pads when we returned to Oslo after the match and I'll be using them in a neat article that'll give some back ground info on the pads. I'll have the pads, 18 & 19 round mag kits and complete 18 & 19 round mags available shortly. Everything worked flawlessly for me at the match. I used 18 rounds most of the time and reloaded to 18. I had a couple of 19 round mags that I used to start with which gave me 20 rounds in the gun. Huge relief when you've got a 16 - 18 round stage. Also, lots of the European Tanfoglio shooters bought the pads from me at the match. The new Grams follower made specifically for Tanfoglio didn't make it to me in time before sitting on the place from Oklahoma to Europe, but I've received them here in Colorado. Monday I'm shipping out spring kits for everyone who bought kits from me at the Europeans. I'll also update my website this weekend. It's very specific number of coils that I recommend for the different mags and what you're trying to achieve. The more rounds you're trying to squeeze in a mag, the more pressure on the spring and life will of course be shortened. But that's the price of performance. Also, I get 29 + 1 round in my new IPSC 170.00mm 38 super magazines. I developed a special aluminum pad that doesn't require cutting up a factory alu pad with a spring that sticks through and tape to hold everything together. It's a sweet thing and it require the magazine lips to be slightly modified. I'll have pads, spring kits and complete mags on my site very soon. Same for 21 + 1 round USPSA mags. I made a newer pad that'll make it easier to get 21 in the mag right off the bat. I used my new pads at the US Nationals and I can load to 21 (if I need to).
  17. As far as I know, the STS and the single stack 1911 available on Tanfoglio.it, it's for the Italian market only.
  18. I don't shoot the 9mm any longer myself, but you can modify the followers to more easily accept more rounds. I'd stay with the factory follower/spring for 9mm, but cut the legs to allow them to compress more.
  19. Bang for your buck, the Match is one of the best choices by any brand. You get "close to" a Limited model which blows all competition away considering what you're getting (competition ready Limited pistol for $1000). The match isn't far behind; main difference is no magwell and straight barrel vs bull barrel. You can buy a factory mag well or weld on an EGW mag well. I know little about IDPA so what you can do there I have no clue. I'm working on my own magwell and will have a monster on the market this winter. The barrels are very good in the EAA pistols, accuracy largely depends on what bullet you are shooting. For accuracy testing on 9mm / 38 super I recommend shooting some of the Hornady 121 HAP bullets off a bag. I've shot < 2" 5-shot groups at 50 yards with my factory setup Gold Team 38 super. For 40 S&W, the Armscor 180 is very cheap and shoots extremely well in the polygonal barrels. Parts, not much to worry about. I'd carry an extra extractor and check them for wear, possibly replace after 10,000 rounds. If you have a case blow up / separate, they've been known to snap the bottom tip of the extractor. Factory firing pins can chip, but switching to my after market X-Long firing pin made out of 420 stainless, hardened to rockwell 50 solves all of that. Also makes the gun go bang every time. And lets you switch to a lighter hammer spring which lightens up you trigger pull. There are cool things you can do with them, like install an after market EGW hammer / sear for a very crisp and long lasting trigger.
  20. I will be adding the Bladetech holster for Limited to the shop, very happy with the one I got. It will fit the Stock II also.
  21. Dave, If you buy some other so-so mag holders and later on decide to get the $30 Safariland holders you'll spend more money than if you just get the good stuff in the first place. However, I might have a special option for you if you want to give me a call.
  22. For the European Championships I wanted to make 100% sure I had enough umpf in my loads so I put 5.1 grains in an Armscor nickel case (which gives higher velocity than brass) behind a 180gr Armscor gold bullet. There are a lot of variances in the chronographs and going from 5000+ feet above sea level here in Colorado to sea level in France changes all your loads. However, they were using two chronographs and one read about 30fps faster than the other. My loads for Europeans came in at 182PF and IPSC requires 170. The other, slower chronograph probably would have put me in about 175PF. Just to clarify. For USPSA I'll use anything from 4.5 to 4.8 grains of Clays behind an Armscor 180 to make major. It depends on bullet, brass and the gun. Clays has been known to separate brass, but only shitty range brass. So if you're going to use Clays (regular clays, not international or universal!), then use good brass that you haven't picked up from others on the ground. My favorites are new Armscor brass or new Armscor nickel. Nickel is particular good for EAA magazines due to nickel being more slippery (less friction). The EAA magazines doesn't have any rails so dirt, unclean mags, rough cases etc can slow down rounds fed up in the magazine. Every detail matters.
  23. Hi Dave, I see your order and I'll get it out in the mail to you today (Friday). If you're shooting the gun as factory configuration, can I recommend a few tuning upgrades? - switching to a 13lb hammer spring your trigger pull will be a lot lighter. - accompany this with the X-Long firing pin to ensure primer ignition (less hammer force requires a lighter & longer firing pin) - wolff 8lb recoil spring works really well with minor loads. tuning the recoil spring to your loads (power factor) can make you shoot faster and more relaxed. I use as low as 6lb recoil spring when I'm shooting 40 S&W in minor (140 PF). So, either 6lb or 8lb can be right for you. I'm assuming you're shooting Limited division in minor. You'll have a good time, practical shooting is an incredible sport. Well, it sucked me into it... enough to quit my real job 13 years ago, leave Norway and settle down in Colorado. Be careful... it could screw up your life too... I finished 11th at Limited Nationals and 12th at the Europeans.
  24. Hi Vincent, Thanks so much for all the kind words. I just answered your email so check your inbox. As I said there, if you have any questions on installation, call me at + 1 720 352 1080. It can be a lot easier than through email.
  25. After being gone for about a month I finally arrived back at my house and office today. It was a long trip from Colorado to Oklahoma to Oslo to Southern France, back to Oslo, back to Oklahoma and finally back to Colorado. Took lots of pictures and videos from both the Limited nationals and the Europeans that'll get up on my site. Right now I'm plowing through hundreds of emails so bear with me. If you've got an urgent order that you haven't received or wonder about something, just call me at (720) 352 1080 and I'll look right into it. The new 19 round IPSC pads were a hit in Europe and is now also available on Eric Grauffel's site as "extreme" kits containing both pad and spring/follower. The new Grams followers didn't show up in time for the Europeans so all the back orders will go out soon. I received an email from him that they're on their way to me. The new followers will be a much better fit to the Tanfoglio magazine bodies and be an easy assembly. I've also got new 141 pads that'll make it easier to get 21 rounds for USPSA. The mags will require some modifications and this is something that I'll be working on this weekend / next week. The new EGW hammer/sears make great triggers. If you want to upgrade your EAA pistol with a nice trigger, contact me and you can ship the gun to me if you want me to do the trigger job for you. The X-Long Firing Pin and the Wolff lightened hammer springs are also a success and many have already made the conversion to a lighter trigger with a much safer primer ignition. More and new products are in the works. I'm working on new aluminum grips that'll be much nicer than factory and I might offer putty for the ones who want to create their own custom grip. New Thor compensators have been made while I was gone and 308 comps will be available shortly. I'm also going to offer "gunsmith blank" compensators that'll allow your gunsmith to turn the comp to your barrels diameter and also do your own thread pattern. I've had customers who want other threads than the 1/2" - 28 tpi I do for 223 and the 5/8" - 24 tpi I do for the 260/308. So very shortly you'll be able to put the cool Thor comp on whatever rifle configuration you've got going on. So, I'm going to need some time just to catch up on what's shipped & back orders and make sure everyone gets everything right. It was a big risk to leave shop for a whole month, but Diann took care of a lot of stuff for me which helped out tremendously. I was supposed to answer emails while I was gone, but the external hard drive I brought to handle all my emails and business info seized up and sort of very nicely gave me a vacation. Nice for me, but bad for everyone who tried to contact me. Hopefully nothing too serious and if there's anything I need to do to rectify it let me know It's nice to be back, though I had a great time both in France and Norway. Got to see a lot of old friends in Europe, hang with family and even do some work on our old family cabin. If I could do it full-time, I'd be traveling all the time... all over the world...
