  1. Well for those of you that want to turn your full size into something smaller for carry. It is possible to install a compact slide onto a full size frame. From EAA: Sir, This would be a compact conversion kit , the kit consist of the barrel , the slide , recoil guide and spring and 1 mag everything that is needed to convert the gun to .45acp . The standard Blued kits are $245.00 The Standard Wonder kits are $255.00 Thank You
  2. Currently I have a Full Size Steel Witness in 9mm. Does anyone know if a compact slide will fit on the full size frame? Also, if it does, can I just but the slide, compact barrel & guide rod for a .45 cal and convert it over? Thanks Alex
  3. Thanks Henning, I figured you didnt get it, since you reply usually so quickly. I appreciate the info. I'm figuring I'm going to stick with what I have for now. Alex
  4. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year All, I sent Henning a pm/email a few days ago but I sent it from work so I dont know if it got to him. But basically the question I was asking was about the ability to interchange large frame magazines between calibers. Tanfolgio large frame magazines are all the same size, so theoretically they should fit in the 9mm, 38super the 40 or whatever large frame you have right? Now I know that the opening at the top will effect the rounds ability to feed properly so that would have to be adjusted. And seeing as the 9mm and 38Super rounds are very close in measurements I should be able to take one of Hennings 38 Super 28+1 mags and use it in my 9mm Stock right? I shoot TSA and after the 1st mag, which must be stock, we can change out to a big stick and this is about the closest thing to a big stick that I can see that would work. I appreciate the input. Alex
  5. What is the difference in magazines in relation to different calibers? Is it the followers? top opening? ie. can you use a 38 super or 40 cal magazine in a gun of the same size frame for a 9mm round?
  6. Has anyone else besides me been having problems getting on the IDPA web site? Ive been using www.idpa.com but keep getting web site cannot be found error. Thanks Alex G
  7. After 3 months I was 20/15.....
  8. Gunex, I had the same problem after getting new spring kits from Henning and after erading alot on here saw that so was everyone else. After a bit of playing with the mag spring it ended up with a bend in the top loop similiar to the stock spring. Takes a bit of trial and error and you definately have to get a bit of a set to the new springs. I ordered 4 sets and just worked with one until I got it to work reliably then set up the others the same. Keep trying and have patience. Alex G
  9. THanks Joe........ and yeah! I know what you mean about DR having enough Witness parts to choke a horse! LOL Its not at his place that I'm worried about, its when I go elsewhere. The spring kit is in the works and Ive already got a bag full of tools and lubes, so I guess I'm already part way there... thanks for the advice though! Your in Hawaii and you know DR? I'll be in your neck of the woods (Pearl) next year for a few months on my to JAPAN. I'll need to pick your brain to find a place to go and releave my stress! Alex G
  10. All, Looking for a bit of advice from the multitudes of experience here. I'm a new local IDPA / TSA match shooter and I'd really like to know what you guy's carry in your gun bag for spare parts. I shoot a 9mm EAA Witness. Thanks Alex G
  11. Yeah KD...... he trained at the same place I do before he went into the ARMY! TSA in Surry.... and now that I'm getting into IDPA @ NCRR I'm sure I'll hear more stories about him!
  12. Hi all, ANother newbie to IDPA and a newbie question to boot. Ive read the rule book and the way I understand it is with my EAA WITNESS 9mm DA/SA Im in the ESP catagory right? The way I read it is SSP is for glock type pistols. THanks for any help..... Alex G Virginia Beach, VA
  13. Hi All, I'm new to EAA and after reading all the posts I'm definately a long way from most of you. I do a bit of IDPA & TSA shooting but nothing near what alot of you do. Just last week I got my Witness 9mm full size and I love it(I've shot a few EAA's before). There are no mods to it yet but I did get my Ambi safety and 3 extra 18 round mags for it from EAA. I'm just waiting to get back from Carrier Quals to get it put it, plus gonna get the trigger done at the same time, plus I ordered a Blade Tech & mag holders as well. I do have a question for ya'll if anyone can answer it.... I cant seem to get over 16 rounds into the mags. They were all advertized as 18 rounders... but after reading a few of Hennings posts I'm getting that I need to load them up light a few times to get them broken in? Is that the normal way to go with high caps? I appreciate any insite. Thanks Alex G Virginia Beach Va.
