  1. The current Stock model is the same frame for all calibers, so yes it will be the same as the 45 you had years ago. The wood grips are smaller than the rubber grips for sure. Match vs Stock. Well, the Stock is definitely an upgraded pistol compared to the Match. It has nicer checkering, bull barrel and square trigger guard. Of all the features, I'd say the bull barrel is the big draw on the Stock. I haven't shot the two side by side to compare and I don't think you'll shoot way better with one over the other. It's more style and feel preferences on your part. You can always convert the Stock to Single Action. Also worth noting is that the Stock has a 0.25" shorter slide and barrel. If you're concerned with the reach to the trigger, I'd say single action is the way to go for you. There isn't any other triggers that you can put on the Stock if you want a D/A gun. The checkering is more subtle than say the Limited model so not much to shave off there and at least in IPSC Production you can't modify the grips to make them smaller. Bottom line is I think you'll be happy with either one. Stock is prettier, nicer, upgraded. The Match is a fantastic gun for the price. Bull barrel, checkering, square trigger and slide/barrel length is the difference besides the duo-tone finish. Sights are the same. If you want to chat about it, call me at (303) 834-8289.
  2. ...and they are shipped directly to your doorstep
  3. Not sure what the future will bring . I have not unlimited, but quite a bit of inventory of the cases and bullets listed. If you're shooting Tanfoglio 38 super, then definitely get some 38 rimless cases while I've got them.
  4. I just uploaded a new page with Armscor brass in 38 super, 38 super rimless, 40 s&w and 45 ACP. Also have some 38 super rimless nickel brass available. Also 40 S&W bullets in 180gr and 165gr. All prices include shipping Bullets and Brass
  5. You'll want to get the extended ambi safety as it's the same on the right side as the left. They're easy to install, just use a small pin punch to take the right side ambi pin out, pull the right side ambi out, flip the sear spring off to the side and take the left side out. Follow my dis/assembly videos for details. Good luck
  6. Thread drifting is always okay Art is right, no cone barrel on the Match. That's part of the difference between the two models. Match is more of a general shooter than the competition-inspired Limited.
  7. Hi Chris, It sucks we all have to wait, but we're waiting for something good so.. I'm highly biased so I'm probably not the person to compare STI to Tanfoglio, you know? If you take the Elite Limited I think it's a fantastic pistol and will last you a long time. I haven't seen any particualr signs of wear on mine. No cracks, breaks, nothing. I do check my extractor every now and then and probably change it out at 10,000 if it looks like it's worn. The three wear parts on the guns in a factory setups are: extractor, sear and slidestop. Magazine springs of course. To upgrade the gun I use EGW slide stop, sear and we will soon have EGW hammers to match which will be a fantastic trigger setup. I redo my EGW sears every 3 years or so. Because they are light triggers they will need to be restoned every so often. Barrels are good, shoot great (polygonal barrels will shoot cheap bullets fantastically). Never cracked a slide or had to change out any barrels on them. The Gold Team 38 super (2006 and previous models is all I can talk about) is basically the same. With the slower powders and porting there is a little more stress than the 40. I think on these older models the heavy 3 port comp may be a bit heavy. If you're planning on shooting a lot, like 20 - 30,000 rounds a year it's worth sending your gun to a gunsmith like EGW (or a good gunsmith for you in France) that knows the Tanfoglio pistols. Have him look over how the barrel is fitted, probably put an EGW hard slide stop in it, do a trigger job etc. I'm making an aftermarket titanium compensator for the 38 super. I think the lighter weight is going to be better for older models. However, the 2007 model has a shorter slide and a much lighter comp which I think is a good thing and may not benefit anything from a titanium comp. I do like the 3-ports, but I don't like the weight that comes with it. I don't want to say anything about STI, better ask someone who has one. As far as reliability it's 100% if you pay attention to the ammunition you are shooting. I can pick up a brand new gun out of the box, put a scope mount on it and just shoot. No adjustment of the extractor, ejector to get the spent cases out. Rimless 38 is the way to go, forget about regular 38 rimmed cases. Rimless will feed like a champ in factory magazines. If you want more capacity, put some Grams spring/followers in them and you can get 24 + 1 in your 140mm 38 super mags. I'm also getting 170mm 38 super mags this week and I'll report back how they'll work with the long Grams springs. Factory they are 25 rounds which is pathetic. With a new spring/follower they should easily make 28, maybe 29 rounds + 1. If I made a longer pad I know that would be the case and I have some older Mec-Gar mags I made in 1995 that holds 28 + 1. C-More Slideride, Alex' double-sided scope mount and you're ready to rock!
  8. No not yet, I know they got some in 40 and 45 in stock that's about it. Supposedly getting mine end of the month / beginning of June. Can't wait ;-)
  9. Going to add a few other things soon; Fiber Optic sight for side-cut slides (older styles) Double Action Trigger Double Action drop-in conversion kit (D/A trigger, bar, interruptor all pinned together) Single Action drop-in conversion kit (S/A trigger, bar) Thor 223 compensator for AR-15's etc Thor 260 compensator for 6.5 Grendel, bolt action rifles etc. (more comps coming too) And next week I'm hoping to have my new true 140mm USPSA legal pad which will out-date the CPMI pads we use today. It's not radically different, but made to correct length / spec and no need to file to fit the gauge anymore. Also talking to a company about making a thinner (0.090" width) fiber optic sight with a smaller sized fiber. I've been wanting this for a long time and now it might actually happen.. As these guns are increasing in popularity, more products will be developed. Gary, you've mentioned a firing pin stop before and I am looking into that for the 10mm pistols. I think it's a great idea to help slowing the slide speed down on the super-major 10mm loads. If any of you have ideas, don't hesitate to email me or call me (720) 352-1080 to talk about it. Everyone have a great weekend.
  10. I don't have a Match on hand, but I do have a Stock which is same magwell. I'll do some testing here. Either way you can make everything fit. What I end up doing a lot of times is opening up my Gold Team and Limited magwells to allow for easier reloading anyway. And sometimes the pad-screws or edges of the pads hit the sides of the magwell. The best thing is to grind and file open the magwell a little to give it a little more flexibility. You don't want any sides of the magpads hitting the well. I think the bottom line is; you want to inspect every single magazine for a good tolerance on whatever gun you are using. Grind / file whatever is necessary.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't you rub it with 200, then smooth with 600
  12. Nemo, Supposedly you can get 40 S&W mags with or with the spacer (lip). The 40 mags with the inside spacer is intended for factory 40 ammo only (1.135" OAL). Chances are if you order mags from EAA without specifying you'll get these. So, either specifically say you want the 40 mags w/o the spacers or order 10mm mags which are dimensionally identicaly, just stamped differently. Sorta solves the problem of getting things mixed up. On my shop I have specified all of it: Tanfoglio Magazines in Henning's Shop You can order competition USPSA mags (140mm) that holds 21 rounds ready to go, or factory 40 S&W long (1.200") or short (1.135") or 10mm etc. For Limited guns you'll need the alu pad to fit inside the magwell. So it breaks down to this: Competition USPSA 140mm mags; 21 rounds = $69.00 per mag Competition IPSC 126mm mags; 18 rounds = $65.00 per mag Factory mag w/ basepad and factory follower/spring = $45.00 per mag (order mag and pad separately)
  13. Interesting.. I don't use those plastic pads so I don't run into the problem. They can also potentially crack since they're plastic. I have alu pads that is specifically made for the Match and Stock models. They look good on the gun, hold up and are only $15. http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/eaa.elite.magazines.html Look for Factory Aluminum Pad, and second line item; Non-Magwell. Thanks for the tip!
  14. The match with it's straight barrel is slightly (very slightly) different recoil from the Limited 40 which I shoot. My loads are 180 / 4.6 of Clays, OAL 1.18" and I use a Wolff 10lb spring. Here's what I make available on my shop and how I've separated the spring weights etc for various loads: http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/eaa.elite.tuning.html
  15. Lighting is on in the basement thanks to Jerry Westcott (RM300 Match Director) and I've started painting the walls in white/blue as you might be able to see. Shelving is coming up on the left side and my reloading bench will be in the right corner. I've got about 600 sq.ft for inventory, reloading, gun storage, ski prep and who knows what. Putting a secure door to seal off half my basement for this fun stuff.. Here's an update:
  16. Hey Jim, Unfortunately we have to be patient, but they should be worth the wait. I haven't gotten my new guns for the year either and hope to get them on this next shipment. Can't wait to get my 2007 Gold Team 38... which I know you're waiting for as well. I wanted to take the display model home after the Shot Show.. If anyone's interested in Gold Team 40's or 45's they are available. Not your competitive choice, but fun calibers to shoot for sure. Last year I had a guy driving a long ways to the NRA Show just to see the Gold Team 45. He was 80 years old, a super cool guy and just loved the look of the gun and the good ol' 45 ACP. I tried to talk him into 38, 38, 38... it's the way... but that just wasn't what he was into. Right on.
  17. I have a few extra 40 S&W uppers and can upon interest offer a 9 / 40 combo solution.
  18. I have several coming to me this week. Limited 40's and Gold Team 38's are still on b/o and assume they'll be in end of this month / beginning of next. If you're interested in a Limited 9mm I'll be able to ship end of this week. Contact me through the website or call me at (720) 352-1080. I have holsters, magazines and all trick parts you'll need. Safariland 771 mag pouches will be in stock soon.
  19. I don't know, but I don't think so. The Hunter model was designed for the 6" hunting market and not for competition. But now that Tanfoglio has a true 6" slide there's nothing stopping them in making a 6" lightened competition version if there's a demand for it. I don't think you'd want to shoot a full-weight 6" slide in 40 S&W. Give it a little bit of time to get the new Hunter 10's in and let's just see how things develop. I've got several Hunter 10's on order just because I think they are super cool.
  20. Some people use the Arredondo followers with great success. I struggled with nose-dives from them which was completely eliminated with the Grams kit. If you compare the two they are definitely different. Differences in spring and follower design can make up that 1 round difference, yes.
  21. I know it's very confusing. I just got some in and have all models. Give me until next week and I'll have it all on my site, sorted out w/o the confusing labeling. Basically there are two different magwells for two different sets of frames (large & small). 1. Large Frame for Stock/Match has a smaller width than Limited/Gold Team 2. Large Frame for Gold Team / Limited 3. Small Frame for Stock/Match (no longer available frames in the US. For older guns bought years ago only) 4. Small Frame for Gold Team/Limited (same scenario as #3.) I will at least offer 1 & 2 and make it so that you only have to specify which gun you want it for. Easy shopping that's what it's all about..
  22. I've talked to Bobby at Bladetech about making a specific holster that'll fit the Limited. It'll also fit the new Hunter model. Actually at this point it's only me dragging my feet. I've got to pack up my spare gun and ship it to him so he can make a mold. Once they've got it, we should have a model-specific kydex holster available. Thanks for reminding me. I've been sucked into remodeling my house and put that one on the backburner. Will ship him my gun next week! As soon as it's available I'll announce it. ;-)
  23. I've seen the new 38 super mags which look great (ipsc box length). Based on what I've heard the 170mm will be built on the same design. If so, expect 28 or 29 round capacity after I've had my hands on them..
  24. He he... yeah, tricky minor detail... I think the 2007 will be a neat setup as is and maybe at some point I'll be brave enough to chop one up... just to see. worst case it could always turn into a steel gun.
