  1. Hey... I never rack my slide... it always works ;-)) knock. knock.
  2. I sent my slide to my buds John Sandlin and Leo Hallak in Kansas City. I gave them free reign to chop up my slide and this is what we're at at the moment. It's not done yet.. ;-))
  3. About two years ago now I mediated between IPSC's President Nick Alexikos and Massimo Tanfoglio to come up with a solution on what a legal IPSC production gun should look like. I have seen it at the shot show, but we have till date not received any of these in the States. Which is a shame. All our friends in Canada and rest of the world have one and can probably submit pictures of their, please do. I'm going to request to get at least one sent to me so I can start playing with it too. The differences are: Stock II = built on the "Custom" frame Stock I = built on the "Standard" frame The "Custom" frame is the foundation of "Gold Team", "Limited", "Limited Pro", "Hunter" and "Stock II" models and is the higher end line of Tanfoglio products. In comparison to the "Standard" frame it has a wider opening for a larger attached magwell like GT and Limited. The frame is tapered and works as a small built-in magwell which is why "limited pro", "hunter" and Stock II" are cool. "Custom" frame also have a squared trigger guard and more aggressive checkering. "Custom" frame for the most part comes with a long dustcover. GT, Limited, Hunter have the longest. Stock II has about 0.4" (10mm) shorter dustcover and barrel/slide than Limited. Limited Pro has the short dustcover. For sure, Stock II comes with Supersights. I've gotten several Stock models and some come with the silly LPA sights. Not sure if it depends on caliber or the mood of the day of the guy who put it together. Seems as 9mm Stock's have Supersights, for other calibers it tends to be LPA's. Small or Large frame? The factory builds every model in both large or small frame. Caliber will determine some of it and function / market another. In the US, EAA only imports large frame models, also 9mms. This is at the request of EAA and a company policy to eliminate the massive confusion they used to have with customers ordering the wrong conversion kits, parts etc. At some point they decided and asked the factory only to import large frames. This is why all current 9mms in the US are large frame. As for the rest of the world, Tanfoglio will only ship small frame in 9mm. Reason for this is because 9mm magazines function flawlessly in small frame and seem to be a troublesome child in large frame. External dimensions between large and small frame are identical. The "large frame" has a bigger chunk cut out for the magazine that is all. Since EAA have not imported the Stock II, all references you are getting regarding Stock II will as far as I understand, be "small frame". But remember, "small frame" only means it excepts small magazines. Small mags measure 1.250" x 0.800" whereas large frame measures 1.345" x 0.850". I did talk with Massimo and EAA at the last shot show and begged to change and start importing 9mms in small frame (only). If everyone knew that 9mm = small frame things would be easier. So, from a production stand point, Tanfoglio can make all calibers (and do) in large frame (9mm, 38 super, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 10mm). Small frame will only accept 9mm and 40 S&W. However 40 S&W in small frame will only accept factory loads 1.135" OAL. Large frame 40 S&W is what you want if you shoot competition because I can pump up the magazine capacity to 21 + 1. In the small frame 40 S&W your capacity is going to be very limited, maybe 16 in the mag? You could always have your dealer call in to EAA and ask for the Stock II in small frame.. Maybe they'll catch on at some point if enough people keep asking. I'm doing my part.
  4. They probably won't last long. Call me at (720) 352 1080 if you want one. I'm not sure if they are V8's or V12's, but I'll find out soon. Call me and we'll talk.
  5. My fax - to - email is (240) 208 3081. Have fax at my house too, but you'll need to call me first, so F-T-E is the way to go. but thanks for the email attachment ;-)
  6. I've just got the word that a large shipment of Limited 40's are coming in. This means I'll be getting a LOT. If you're interested give me a call at (720) 352 1080. ;-)
  7. For those of you with DA pistols who have installed my X-Long Firing Pin (large frame) and the Wolff 13lb hammer spring... Looking more closely at the Stock DA tonite I realized it may be real easy not to pull the trigger all the way back in the heat of the fire... which could cause occasional light strikes. I know how much the light strikes have been an issue with SA guns. In all the instances I've talked to people about it, it has been due to adjusting the over-travel screw too tight. The sear HAS to clear the hammer's half-cock. With a margin. I know how tempting it is to have 0 movement in the trigger, but to be reliable you have to give the trigger some movement after the hammer has released. The same goes for DA and because of the long trigger movement in DA guns it can be easy not have different trigger movements from shot to shot. On the trigger i worked on tonite, I reudced the half-cock to almost nothing with a stone. I left a small hook for safety reasons, but it drastically reduced the chances for a slight catch of the half-cock which of course... will slow the hammer down and cause light strikes. Not to say 100% this is always the reason, but if you have experienced this, look into this and if you wish, gimme me a call or post. I'm interested in getting to the bottom of it.
  8. Cool dude, see you're up late too.. No final design on the FO yet, I've made a couple of drawings but will start working on a submitted design soon. If anyone wants to send me a suggestion (in drawing) I might use it if it's a good idea.
  9. Small frame mags measure 31.75mm (1.250") x 20.3mm (0.800") I shot a lot of 9mm in small mags up until '95 when they introduced the 38 super. Even 170mm mags worked flawlessly, but if you're shooting used brass with a bulgy bottom you'll get nose-dives. For important matches I always use new brass. Or use the EGW die and make sure to size the cases all the way down. For large frame... no personal experience, just getting reports from other they are having problems. Supposedly loading long might work or the spacered mags. Also the guys who make the Sun Devil AR's in Arizona have done some very interesting modification of the feedramp which supposedly fixed a lot of 9mm issues with odd and difficult bullets. The factory got the barrel / feedramp they modified and are looking into if its a stroke of genius or not. Time will show.
  10. Also will have an increased inventory of Wolff recoil springs, hammer springs (long transverse = older models), extra power extractor springs, etc. Also will be adding 1911 springs from Wolff. Just waiting for my shipment to come in... (should be end of this week)
  11. Added extractor for 45 ACP. Also, there are two different wire diameter and types of trigger springs. The thicker wire diamter (0.034") is for double action while the thinner (0.030") is for single action. I've also got the Sidewinder slide racker available. I'm going to modify these to fit the Tanfoglio slide cut, but it's one of those things that gotta be done.. so in the meantime at least added them to the shop. I'm sure you can fit them yourself if you want and I'm out of the factory one which I'm no big fan of anyway. With a file you can fit it to the slide cut and either cut off the excess etc. Looks like a fiber front sight might happen here in not too long. I've got a go from one of my suppliers to make it. I'm going to make a .090" wide with a .060" fiber.
  12. I just started using endicia.com to be able to print shipping labels & handle postage from my house. This means all packages as of today will come printed on a nice label. Also means it'll be easier for me to apply insurance, express shipping, signature etc for those who want to add shipping services. I've been considering adding some of these features onto the shop so that you can automatically choose overnite express shipping, global priority etc. Anyways, endicia.com is an awesome service. I've got my postage scale and label writer up and running. Pretty cool stuff. ;-)
  13. As for mags and nose-dives, the 9mm is tricky in the large frame. Some people have been able to figure it out and made them work with high capacity. I've never messed with 9mm much. In worst case I'd re-chamber it for 38 super rimless and start shooting Starline 38 TJ brass. Changing for 9mm to 38 will blow out the bottom of the cases, but 38 TJ you can size all the way down. Also in 38 TJ I can get you 29 round high cap mags. I think you'll always struggle to get a functional hi-cap mag in 9mm like 170mm. Or you might have luck with 9x23.
  14. Rob As extractor issues goes, check my article and you can adjust it to 0.045" as I do for 38 super rimless: http://henningshootsguns.com/tech/tech.tan....extractor.html
  15. The base pads are completely different, which is why I made my own to fit perfectly with the Tanfoglio magazines. As for Grams stuff, these are made specifically to work with the feed lips on the Tanfoglio magazines. Before I had the followers made specifically I was using the STI/SVI kits. They work, but the follower may pop thru and you will want to bend the top spring to the right so that it stays inside. The Grams/Tanfoglio follower is the way to go.
  16. I don't have a CZ, but my guess is yes. It's something that I"m going to look into for sure.
  17. I think if I made a lever that works 100% with the Grams follower it would be cool. On the list..
  18. As listed on my shop; $98 for hammer, $50 for sear. Both prepped and can be dropped in. For a finer trigger job, of course stoning and lightening of springs can do a lot.
  19. Just came in today. I've had EGW cut the hammer hooks to 0.012" for the best possible trigger job. The half-cock has been cut down. On the sear, the reset leg has been shortened and cut to the correct angle. The face has been stoned. With these parts you can drop-in for a pretty good trigger. Of course if you want the super-light trigger pull you'll have to stone the sear, but these parts makes it a much better starting point than the previous ones.
  20. btw. The Small Frame firing pin will work for Armalite AR-24 as well !!!
  21. Well I couldn't sleep so had to do something.. X-Long Firing Pin for Small Frame models I know a lot of you have been waiting for this product. The XL Firing Pin for Small Frame models will be available end of march and I just put up a $20 special Pre-Order pricing. You can order it now with other products and pin will ship separately end of march. Once its in stock it will be priced at $25, same as the large frame firing pin. This pin measures OAL 2.480" which is 0.025" effectively longer than the factory. It will be the perfect pin for those of you with small frame Gold Team, Limited and Stock II model guns. It's made out of 420 Stainless and hardened to Rockwell 50. It won't chip like the factory and is 33% lighter than factory. If you want to do everything you can do ensure 100% ignition every time this is the way to do it. Check it out: http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/hxlfp.html TiteFit Slide Pin Also, my new TiteFit SlidePin has been ordered for production. This pin will have an OD of 0.198" as opposed to the factory's 0.195". This will remove slop and ensure an even tighter lockup of the barrel. It will be made of shock-resisting S7 tool steel and hardened to Rockwell 45. There will be no higher quality slide stop pin on the market. To make it slick looking with the gun it's only going to stick out about 0.020" on each side (0.5mm) so it'll look really good and you won't feel any snagging of any kind. When you're making a high quality part you might as well make it look nice, right ? Because of this manufacturer's production schedule it will be on the machine in April and ship beginning of May. If you know you want it and want to place orders for other products before then, add it to you list and take advantage of my pre-order sale price of $20. Regular price will be $25. Check it out: http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/frameparts.html ;-)
  22. Eric's Aero Wing and Barry Mount for Tanfoglio / Witness are now up and available on the shop. For 1911, I accidentally deleted some components for my webshop so I will have to re-do that stuff. If you want a Barry Mount or Alex Mount for 1911 follow this link: http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/1911.parts.mounts.html There is no way to navigate to it until I've got the browsing component re-done.
  23. It'll come up next week ! Also just adding Eric Grauffel's AeroWing for C-Mores.. Doing the webshop updates right now so it will be up shortly.
  24. Just added new product: Barry C-More Mount for EAA Witness & Tanfoglio now added to the Store. Also have them for 1911. I've had them cleaned up and hard anodized black. Check 'em out, they're cool. I'm switching to them: http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/mounts.html
  25. The machine shop had another project that's been holding up my grips. For the short grips we've made a new program, new vise-grips for contouring etc. Talked to my machinist today and it looks as I'll head up there tomorrow for inspection and potentially running the machine this weekend. A large part of this is not in my hands. I push the shop hard to get my projects done and I'm one impatient MF.. Plus everything has to be perfect. We have the wood inlay grips machined, black anodized and just need to machine the wood for them. I bought a beautiful piece of wood; bolivian dark wood that will look sharp with the black grips. We're thinking of checkering the wood, coat it and insert them into the aluminum grips. Will be a sharp, decorative grip for full-size models like the Match, Stock and Steel. Can be fitted to Limited Pro and Hunter as well. Also, I'm having my own stainless screws made for the grips. These will be made out of 420 stainless, hardened to RC 50 and will be a small button-head in hex (allen). Will look really sharp and as soon as I have them will replace the factory aluminum screws. Everything to make the Tanfoglio look sharper... The word on the small frame Firing Pin is end of March and Slide Pin is beginning of May. Both will be first class products. ;-)
