  1. Sometimes it is an honest match, be shooting USPSA for 30 years and IDPA for 112-13 years and have not had that problem, drop a mag on a stage and if I do not pick it up someone usually bring it back and some clubs have a lost and found. Most of the shooters I know are honest(alittle gamey) lol. It is very unuasal for theft to happen at a range during a match. Mike
  2. Bulleye is good just too dirty for me, have used in 45 ACP. Have not used Titegroup. A good solid load for a 124 gr rnd lead bullet is 4.2 grains of 231. You may have to start at 3.8 and work up a bit and the oal is what works in the STI 9MM. Good luck, keep your powder dry and shoot straight. Mike
  3. Milt Sparks is all leather. Have a Vers Max II for a Glock 19. Ordered horsehide and it holds up very well. Use a crossbred for a 1911 5 inch and Commander length, very nice it is kydex. Holds the weapon close and comfortable. I have on order another Versa Max II for a BHP in Horsehide. Good luck, Mike
  4. You might want to try this: Instead of changing your grip, when the pistol goes to slide load or you are ready for your reload, use your other thumb,(left in my case) and hit the mag release button with your off hand thumb. It will take a little practice, but I have had some sub .5 reloads that way. Mike
  5. Been shooting 124 gr fmj in a G19 and a Browning Hi Power. Load is accurate with 4.4 grs of 231. Have tried the 147 and the 115. Do not like them and the pistols do not like them. It is a matter of what you (the shooter) feels best to you. The snap you may feel from a 115 is not as snappy in a 124 and may feel like a push in a 147. So it goes back to what feels right for you and works in the pistol. Thanks, Mike
  6. Been loading 124-125 gr fmj in a Dillion 450b for a long time. If you use the Lee Overside sizing die, the bulge at the bottom of the case should go away. Load for a G19 and Browning Hi-Power. Also use a case gauge, drop in drop out. Do not load 147s yet. Use 231 powder. They run fine and no issues with them. Sorry do not have OAL at this time. Mike
  7. I guess between SS 45ACP or going back to an old Browning Hi-Power in 9mm is just plain fun for me. Did pick up a Glock 19 and some of the guys I shoot with, say I shoot it better then the SS or the Browning. But I'll tell you, if you have a nicely tuned SS in 45ACP or a Browning, they are hard to beat. Mike
  8. Fireman489, I use the dot toture tests. They are on line. Just key it in that way and you will find difference drills for practice. I also have a place in S Texas that I can practice year round. All I can say is Enjoy and keep up the trigger time. Mike
  9. Erich Leipold Where are you? If you intend to shoot IDPA, you need to find a club close to you that shoots at least 1 match a month and you need access to a range where you can pratice the classifier at least once a month. The Classifier has every thing you need to play the game. The targets are at different hieghts, the distances vary, you will shoot moving forward and backward. There are reloading drills, etc. Solarita is right, dry fire as much as you can. Might buy a few snap caps to save your firing pin. At your club, try to work or shoot with one of the better shooters and ask questions. If the shooter is worth a shit, he or she will be willing to help you do the best you can. I work with alot of shooters and like it when I see them get better as time goes on. Even beat me on a stage or two is cool. That means I am doing what I like to do. Pass what little knowledge I have on to the next person. Hopefully, they will do the same in time. IMHO Thanks, Mike
  10. I use solo 1000 with a 124 fmj at 4.2 grs Also 231 4.4 grs with a 124 fmj Works fine. Mike
  11. Had rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder in 2008. Need to follow the phy therapy. Have not looked back. I conitunie to shoot, 4-5 matches a month. Pistol and rifle and shotgun. The pain and discomfort is gone. Good Luck and shoot straight. Mike
  12. Clays, Solo1000, 231 all are great for the calibers you are going to reload for. Mike
  13. Hey Buddy, I feel your pain. Been there, done that. It is not an issuse if you handle your magazine waiting for the S/O to tell you to load and make ready. It is a lesson well learned though. Mike
  14. Sounds like you are on the right track. Good luck Mike
  15. good choice buddy. good luck with it. Mike
  16. 4.4 gr of 231 or 4.2 gr of solo 1000 Mike
  17. I use solo 1000 with a 124 fmj 4.2 grains or my old stand by is 4.4 grains of 231 with a 124 fmj in a glock 19 Mike
  18. solo 1000 or 231 work great for both. Mike
  19. Clays meters well in both my old 450Bs. Mike
  20. use 4.3 gr of Clays or can use Solo 1000 4.3 gr with a 200 gr moly lswc. Works great. Mike
  21. Use Precision Bullets, moly coated 200 gr swc with 4.3 gr Clays oal 1.245-1.25 crimp .470
  22. What Steve RA said. Use 4.3 gr of Clays with a 200 gr swc lead bullet. Moly coated Precision Bullets. Overall lenght is 1.245-1.25. Crimp is .470. These load works in 2 45's I have. No leading, good accuracy and comftable to shoot. Mike
  23. I agree with that even out of a Glock 19. Good solid load for that. Good in a hi power too. Mike
  24. 4.4-4.6 of 231 with a hornady 124 fmj bullet works great in a glock 19 and an Browning Hi Power and the little glock 26 Mike
  25. I tried Clays and the pressures spike too much with a 124. I went back to 231 or solo1000 Mike
