Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks Rod, I started useing xtreme 230g bullets. I loaded some with hp38 at 4.6gns and they shot nice, just wasn't sure how much more I needed to get to pf.
  2. I have to borrow a crono for testing so I looking for load data to get me close since I have limited crono time and listed load data isn't for plated. I will be useing Xtreme 230g plated rn with HP38. I will be shooting it from a 5" 1911. I would like to be around 169pf. Any info you can give on recipes that have worked for you will give me a better starting point to work from. Thank You for your help.
  3. Today I had a round (reloaded pmc brass) that would not feed. I have had some ftf issues due to reload changes, so when it happened I got out the flashlite and closely inspected. After inspecting everything I checked the round in a Wilson cage gage, fit fine. Finally I took the slide off my 1911, removed the extractor, and the round would not fit the slide. My breech face measures about .478 and the base of the brass measures .480. My other 1911 measures about .490. So my question is, does this gun have a breech face narrower than spec or is this brass just junk? I feel like my occasional ftf problems is due to this because it seems like it has troubles if there is any nicks in the case rim. Monday I will put a call in to the manufacturer, but I would like info in case I get the "its just your reloads" speech. Any input is greatly appreciated.
  4. With these bullets do you have to worry about scraping off the coating while seating? Some of the plated bullets I've used would peal the copper coating if not centered while seating. Are these touchy like that or pretty durable? thanks
  5. Been loading for a while but still learning. I'm shooting a 1911 in uspsa and looking for some bullet advice. What is most used and why? Lead, plated or molly? 200g or 230g? Rn or swc? Thanks in advance for your help.
  6. Sorry, I'm looking at getting the 550 Dillon.
  7. I've been reloading for awhile on a Lee single stage press. Now that I started USPSA I'm having a hard time keeping up with my addiction. I've decided that a new Dillon is in my future and have selected the model. My question is, are the Dillon 45acp dies any better than the Lee dies I'm currently using (Lee 4 die set)? Just trying to make a list and get everything together when I place my order from Brian. Thanks for any info.
  8. Same here, shot a few practice matches last month and then the first match a couple weeks ago. What a blast, its my new addiction.
  9. Thanks for the info, but I live on the west/central side. I joined a club in Fargo,ND (FMPSA).
  10. Hello, I'm a newbe from MN. I recently started USPSA. I've been reloading and shooting for only about a year or so, definatly still learning.
