Today I had a round (reloaded pmc brass) that would not feed. I have had some ftf issues due to reload changes, so when it happened I got out the flashlite and closely inspected. After inspecting everything I checked the round in a Wilson cage gage, fit fine. Finally I took the slide off my 1911, removed the extractor, and the round would not fit the slide. My breech face measures about .478 and the base of the brass measures .480. My other 1911 measures about .490.
So my question is, does this gun have a breech face narrower than spec or is this brass just junk? I feel like my occasional ftf problems is due to this because it seems like it has troubles if there is any nicks in the case rim. Monday I will put a call in to the manufacturer, but I would like info in case I get the "its just your reloads" speech.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
