  1. Hey ya tin knocker, You gonna be able to make it? With the weather we have had the past week or two I am really getting pumped. It was 63 degrees and SUNNY when I got off work this afternoon at 4:30. Just enough time to jump on the Motor Cycle and make a loop before it got too chilly. Singlestack, Take it easy on the rest of us in L-10. See ya'll there. Hopalong
  2. Looking forward to the rematch with Catfish. Only thing is.....he's had 2 years of practice on me. See everyone there. Hopalong
  3. Ya'll guys are way behind the 8 ball here, Several I know have been shooting both for years. Some of us attend more IDPA majors than USPSA and Vice Versa. Wait, is that Versa Vice ???? I don't know, too many things to remember........ah hell, might as well just shoot. Hopalong oh yeah forgot.... IDPA A11299.......All gun Expert USPSA TY45025....All gun dummy that shoots

Knuckles, I do !!!!! The autos too. As a liscened aircraft mechanic I can tell you that there are way more dangerous(mechanical problems) cars and trucks, busses and big trucks in one state than in general aviation (aircraft have MANDANTORY inspections or they are grounded). I feel safer in the air than on the road........just to bad we have the baggage troubles to deal with. Hopalong
  5. You are welcome anytime. Hopalong
  6. Got mine in the mail today. Slot number 0235 for the Revolver, Limited, Production Nationals Tulsa Oklahoma See you there. Hopalong
  7. My biggest suggestion is have fun, and welcome to the wonderful world of revolver shooting. A challenge for sure, but the most fullfilling one you can make in USPSA shooting. Woo Hoo, just what we need a Lady Lefty shooting revolvers!!! My left handed wheel gunning friend does it like this: Opens cylinder with his trigger finger, pushes out the cylinder with his thumb of his right hand, keeps pressure on the cylinder whith his thumb and pushes the ejector rod with his right fore finger while retrieving a new moonclip and turning the gun muzzle up to help get rid of the spent cases. He then turns it muzzle down, drops the moonclip into the cylinder, closes it with his left hand while changing hands to get it back into his left hand. Hope that helps, there are other ways and I'm sure some of the fine folks here will share once they see this. Have fun, and be patient with the thing. Hopalong
  8. After the first year of the series I also suggested the division winners of the points series get an earned slot to my Area Coordinator. He replied to my suggestion but it did not go any where. I shot it the first 3 years watching it get less and less participation for lack of promotion and/or other reasons. Have not participated since and do agree that it should just go away. Just my opinion, and you see what my tag line says about them. Hopalong
  9. Not only the free beer.................. I'll one up John, If the Mississippi Classic gets 20 or more shooters in Revolver division One lucky shooter will get their Match fees back (Random draw)....... HOW's that? And I won't even be shooting one this year. Hopalong
  10. Woogie, 30 rounds in a 6 shot revolver is easy............ draw and go until the first click, then reload and go until the next click, then reload and go until the next click......and so on and so forth until said 30 rounds are a part of history !!!!! Works for me sometimes!!!! Really getting psyched up about this one..........notice I said Psyched, not practiced. See ya in 2 weeks Hopalong
  11. OK, This stuff is starting to show up pretty regularly in my range brass I use for practice and club level matches. Who makes it? I have not had any problems with it, any one else? What are your experiences with it? Seems to reload well. Hopalong
  12. 41, When I found my 25-2 I use in USPSA/ICORE it had the .500 wide sarrated trigger, and thebig ole hammer. Fortunately for me the thing would skip a cylinder every now and then so I got S&W to pay the shipping and fix that part on them (new stop) while they had it I had them replace all the old springs in it and install a new .400 wide smooth (what I like) trigger and a new hammer too........so I can install the old stuff if it ever has to go away.....and I could butcher up the hammer and have a spare in case I butchered too much. . I asked for all the old springs since they are mine any way (for spares). That is just another option you may want to look into (plus it requires no mental stress). Good luck with it, glad you like it. Get to whipping up on Kyle with it and you might be getting good. Hopalong
  13. Ouch !!! That hurts me when you are typing it. See you there. Hopalong
  14. OK Dennis, I got a call from my wheelgunning buddy, he said he was sending the entry out tomorrow, and you will not be by yourself for sure!!!! Ronnie, I have loaded up some SPECIAL ammo just for this match.......... at least 128,000 PF going to be shooting .45 in L-10 so get your girdle on because you are gonna be laughing so hard you'll need one! Jack, don't whip up on us "part timers" too bad. Gonna be fun if nothing else! Hopalong
  15. Think you go through powder quick in .223??? Try dumping 52 grains into the case every time !!!! You can really watch the powder level go down quick. Oh yeah, .308 rules for 3gun if you ask me. Hopalong
  16. Thanks Woogie. Jack, just go ahead and plan on the L-10 thing........then Woogie won't have a choice but change you over. DaJerrell, I spoke to a gentleman today that said he would shoot a wheel gun with you...........if spring break did not fall on the same weekend. Hopalong
  17. They shot last year in July...........in 100+ degree heat!!!!! I seem to remember them going back to the fall to shoot this year, but not sure. Check the Arkansas Section on the Area-4 website. I think they have a little info there. Glad I missed it last year, sure would have hated to whip up on Benny in HM and take his SOCOM 16 away from him!!!! (Really glad I missed because of the heat) ALWAYS a great match, wouldn't expect anything other from them. Hopalong
  18. Darn Flex, Just finally mustered up the nerve to attempt the 9+ hr drive again and there you go having the match so close to 2 others that I can't get out of (Nats and TN) so the funding will not be there.......and the time off work. Might would have offered to work the match for you too. Oh well, maybe next time.!!!! Hop
  19. Eric, The very first thing I would get for a 646 is some Hearthco moonclips!!!!! The clips provided by S&W are so sloppy and wobbly it is not funny. I have a few S&W factory clips that my brass actually will fall out of. You may want to try the plastic moons (TK ???) but I personally would go the Hearthco way. Then load some up and go play for now. Later you may want to go with a different rear sight, I have a millet on mine. Grips are quite personal, I use a Miculek as I also have that grip on all my USPSA Wheel guns and so nothing changes. I know some that like the pacmyer factory grip, some like to take the finger groves off but keep the pacmyer.........You see where I'm going with that. Have fun, I hope you like the little gun as much as I like mine. Hopalong
  20. Psky2, Good luck with your match by the way. Thanks for rooting for me, but I have a 3 year old vendetta to deal with.......will be shooting something other than Revolver for this match. Information here: http://www.teammagnolia.com/classic/ Hopalong Edit to add: More match conflicts.......Jerry and Kay will be at the Targeting Education/World shoot qualifier the same weekend as the Mississippi Classic.
  21. And now Nemo is in it too!!!! You turkeys keep practicing and hurry up and get the he!! out !!!! "A" lifer Hopalong
  22. Before Flex jumps in and thinks he has to MODERATE us. I would like to add a little here. I don't care which match, who's match, whomever's match any one attends....... As long as you attend !!!!!!! I was just offering up some info, and a little of my wharped perspecitive. John pretty much covered it but let me add just a tid bit of more information on Mr. Brister. As John stated, at the time of the MS match, he had been shooting revolver for only about 3 months (I gave him one of mine in March to get started until he found one). He had progressed in those 3 months with the skills it took me about 2 years to get. If you wonder about his wheelgunning skills just ask Cliff how bad he kicked our ass at the Tennessee match on the TX star stage.....and a couple of others. Had his wifes mother not had a heart attack that day, I say he and Cliff would have had a real tight match. Enough about that, now get your asses out an attend a match!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopalong
  23. Only around 900 of the NON Performance Center 646s' produced. I have 2 myself, nice blasters and no they are not for sale. Hopalong
  24. Getting around to a few loose ends here........... My attempt at humor was to bring more attention to this match, even though it is out in the land of the Wacky West! (Ask DanBagger next time you see him) NO I don't want there to be any less of any type match ICORE included. Good luck with it, and Keep Danbagger and Bagakiss in line out there! Hopalong
  25. I'll agree with Mike on the 25 bucks less for an earned slot is not much of a bargain. What I am getting at is this........... If there are two quality matches the same weekend, both with entry fees similar and drive time or air fare pretty much the same. for me a level III match with the little extra of the slot.....not the $25 bargain discount, but the not having to worry about getting on the wait list. Take GRAND MASTER Walsh for example. If he decides to go to Kansas...............Air fare, entry fees, Hotel, BEER, rental car, BEER. Should he whip up on the mid westerners, he gets a trophy and bragging rights of whipping up on some midwesterners. If he decides to go to Mississippi..........Air fare, entry fees, Hotel, BEER, rental car, BEER. Should he whip up on the southerners, he gets a trophy a check (not a years salary though), the chance to shoot with the ONLY all gun GM in USPSA.....and maybe Mr. Miculek too........HMMM that would be 3 of the 5 GMs at the same place...... the bragging rights of whippin up on some "good ole boys" a slot to the next years nationals and some Mad southern "good ole boys" who will take his beer from him and make him go into the DTs' Having said all that, If it was me and I had to spend the same amount of $$$$ I most likely will attend the match where a chance at a slot is available. I have already seen several posters who mentioned they were hoping to get one from the wait list. I say take matters into your own hands, call up some of the other wheelgunners (or e-mail, or post here ect.) and get the 20 needed and get the top 3 to get the slots. Yeah I'm rambling and running sentances together but I think maybe some of you can see where I'm trying to go with this. and Mike, YES earned slots should be a bigger difference and mean something. Kind of like being the Points series champ...........All it got me was broke, and a silly clock on a plaque. In Ending........... How about shooting with Johnny, Haras, Bwana and the rest of the crew down in Mississippi.............Has been a great match for the 4 years I have shot it. Hopalong
