  1. Having used both the 550 and the 650, I would buy another 650. 4 years and only 3 broken plastic parts (all in the repair kit too) and getting close to half a million rounds loaded through it. Make sure to get the case feeder and the roller handle though. Hopalong
  2. Too Cool !!! All I had was the pond bank (and a bucket of water to make it slippery enough to slide on). Hopalong
  3. The issue I have had with the back sights is just what JFD had, plus I broke 2 of the pins on two different Para sights. I have always just e-mailed Para and got them to send me a new one for the old(they had wanted them back) with not a problem from Para. If you are going to replace the back sight, I would go with a real Bo-mar if possible (Para sight cuts might be different so check). I did break a factory bushing too, just happend to have a buddy shooting with me with a spare bushing in his bag. (I did have to buy a replacement from Brownells E.B. of course) And no JFD it is not the one on yours. And to putting all that on your P16. I only added rough grit sandpaper to the front strap of the Para P-16s I shot (and still shoot) everything else is factory. The first one of them I had has well over 200k rounds through it and as far as I know I put one rear sight on it, one bushing and some recoils springs (seems like he has replaced the extractor now too). keep it clean, use a buffer and it'll go and go. Hopalong Let me add, just for the hell of it I shot mine two weeks ago and shot it just as well as my Benny Hill built STI.
  4. From being a match director for a previous match I can tell you this...... On the application for match sanction there is a box that the MD checks that says........ Match to be used as a classifier(or some wording similar to that). It has to be a level II or larger, and you have to have 3 GMs in a divison that shoot up to USPSAs standards...............Similar to having 1 GM that wins, another that shoots 97% and another that shoots 94%. If there are 3 and they don't all shoot up to par, USPSA may choose not to use it(Not very often though) Hope that helps clear things up a little. Hopalong
  5. Great Nik !!!!!! What issue of People magazine is that if I may ask? If for anything else reading stuff like that gives us(me) another angle for goal setting and dedication. May you have much success on the road of your new life. Hopalong
  6. Hey Jerry V. Sorry it won't happen at A-1 in 07, but you still have a perfect opportunity to do both at the Nationals at Tulsa in September. Hopalong
  7. Congratulations to the Tennessee Lady Vols for their 7th National Championship in womens Basket ball. With that win that gives the SEC a Hat trick for National Championships in 2007..........pretty good I think. Good job, and congrats to Rutgers for making it to the finals too! Hopalong
  8. Well.......................... I don't want to mislead anyone and after looking at the schedule of events in Hopalongs upcoming time I have unfortuantely decided that this match will be a little too expensive for me to attend so close to another expensive match (Nationals). I do and did want to attend this match, and might do so next year especially if it is not close to any expensive forays I have in mind. I guess I'll be on the maybe next year list........ Sorry to get my own hopes up, but it just won't be good thing to do (unless of course I win the lottery ) Hopalong
  9. Well I can tell you from first hand knowledge................... Shred does NOT look his age !!!! Happy birthday anyway shred............ And the rest of the gang that are enjoying a birthday today. Hopalong

    The Fish

Damn Fish................................. You'd better quit this practice, get fit, and other B.S. or I may just have to go back to Revo for the Arkansas match!!!! Good work, See you in a few weeks. Hopalong
  11. Gary, Happy Birthday sir (I have respect for my elders)!!!!!! Hopalong
  12. When he quits/retires from shooting, Johnny Brister from Mississippi............ The FIRST all gun GRAND MASTER in USPSA! I guess that should qualify him if anything does? Hopalong
  13. That would be count them.........2 Nationals championships for the Gators this year, and this one back to back with the last years round ball game. Now tomorrow the Tennessee lady Vols will win and the South East Conference will undoubtably the PREMIER sports conferance and the sports writers can't deny that anymore. Ohio never quit fighting, like a true champion but just couldn't scratch out of the early deficit. Congrats to the Buckeyes on a great year in Football and Basketball. Now back to the SEC conference thing................. We sent more teams to bowls during Football and even won the National championships THEN We send more teams to the March Madness tournament and get 4 in the sweet 16 and even won the National championship Now we wait until tomorrow and watch Pat Summitt show why she is the winningest head coach in womens basketball(and most National champs too) when they win another title. And somewhere in there this is all lost to the sports writers....... whats up with that? So sorry Flex, maybe one day your guys wont have to play a team from the SEC and then they can win. Going to bed now. Hopalong
  14. Dennis, Nobody ever said I was "Right" And Yes, If all goes well I and my 25-2 will be there to get another dose of ass kicking from the Senior and Junior. Gonna be fun, see all you cats and chicks there. Hopalong
  15. O........ Congrats to the Buckeyes. That was a well played basket ball game by both teams, Ohio just was a little better all game though. Hopalong
  16. Even though it'll be monetarily draining, I still am trying to line this match up. Any takers on splitting a room? I hope I can get to shoot Friday/Saturday and fly in on Thursday out on Sunday.......making the total cost to attend less than a grand (round trip southwest is 600 roughly) .........man, nationals is not going to cost as much or if as much !!! Hopalong
  17. Well, maybe the trip to A-8 was worth it after all. Slept fine myself, even went to bed before 10 PM . Hopalong
  18. Pat, If you look real close, I'm covered up with black soot from feeding the coal. hey wait a minute, were not in the steam era any more........but sure were a bunch of wheelguns back then too!!!! Hop...........slot # 235
  19. God has blessed you with Gato, and will continue to do so with your great memories for your friend. I too had to have my friend of 13 years euthanized due to Cancer. I still miss him and have not been hunting since (he was a hound and I bought him when he was 6 weeks old) other than a few times with a decendant of his. Pets are something else! May your pain and sorrow fade quickly, and memories never fade. Hopalong
  20. BUMP !!!!! Did I tell anyone that this has ALWAYS been an AWESOME MATCH ???? You miss it and it is YOUR fault Hopalong
  21. WHAT ???????? What seems to be the matter? Maybe a little CHICKEN???? I don't see the trouble, you know a revolver is so much easier to shoot than one of them auto loading things that have buttons, sliding parts, levers, and other bells and whistles to worry about.....with a revolver all you have to do is just shoot ! It's that SIMPLE Tony, you had better leave that plastic thing at home this year and come get some of the wheel fun. Hop
  22. Room for me and my M1a ????? Any body tell me how to get all my gear AND the rifle on the Motorcycle? Might just toss the stuff in the truck instead. Hopalong
  23. Scott, I'm glad you guys had a great match. Wish I could have been there, but had promised my services at the Tri-State IDPA regional last fall. Now, I know 70% of you guys will be a the Mississippi Classic and I also know you guys and gals obviously have access to a wheelgun so why not bring it to Jackson in May? Jerry will not be there to demonstrate why he is the WORLD CHAMPION so the whole division is up for grabs!!!!! You guys might even talk me into breaking out the 25-2 instead of the Benny Blaster STI I am planning on shooting...........it's up to you(and the other wheelgunners) Hopalong
  24. I just happend to be shooting CDP with 8 round mags...............some how, some way, I ended up having to do a RWR on this very stage. I thought for sure I'd hit some of the Hard cover on that last target but can still see the front sight plainly on the -0 . (should have made up a couple of other shots though......down 5 for the stage. A stage where RWR times were just as good as slidelock reloads........(I should know, I ran 80+ shooters through it ) So Eric, Slidelock reloads are more simple and require less brain activity (good for me) but RWR/Tacloads do have thier place and you should be able to use them accordingly.
