  1. My Friend Odie Dehan (Lesser half of Photomotion Photography) was "B" class Production winner at last years USPSA Nationals (and got bumped to A for it) has now become PRODUCTION MASTER !!!!! before this years Nationals ( NOW you did it !!!) Congrats Odie, Keep up the good work. Hopalong
  2. RGS pretty much hit it on the head. I too preferr the .400 wide, but like it smooth. Triggers are like pretty women. Come in all sizes !!!! Hop
  3. Cousin Keen, I was actually talking about the OTHER OHIO revolver shooter that plays in that same sand pit mentioned earlier !!! (Pictures of Chad throwing Sand on Pat are now in my head) You on the other hand, did WELL !!!!! Congrats to you as well. Hop
  4. JT, Good luck and have fun with "Chewy" when she's back on her feet !!!! Hop
  5. The World traveler................. Was........................ Master Walsh !!!!!! NOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GRAND MASTER WALSH !!! Carmoney gave him a hard time though. AND, Young gun and AREA-8, Indiana Section CHAMP Chad Roush shooting 84.9% of a GM !!!!!! Maybe he and the OTHER OHIO shooter need to quit playing in the SAND PIT !!!!! Congrats to all, Summer Blast is just that !!!!! Hop
  6. Historicaly, Cliff will show up but it looks like he is spending his travel $$$ going to Europe so I really don'e expect to see him this year. I know Nashville Bill, Odie, Matt Beck are. I might and might not (looking to shoot Single Stack) D, you NEED to get some of the Mississippi revolver shooters to go to a major match other than the MS Classic. The big turnout normally seen there will die down IF the Mississippi guys don't show up to support the other major matches. (Kind of "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" thing) I'm working on talking a few others to show up at TN, but they are just a maybe. Hop
  7. Since Flex was so NICE and opened this thread back up. I predict the person who scores the most match points with the least penalties that doesn't get DQed will win the WORLD SHOOT !!!!!! Hop
  8. Terry and Linda Asheton In West TX, I'll look to see If I have their INFO. They are the Original "star" design and producers. They "OKed" others to duplicate. MGM makes a good quality star. I would do business with either as they both support the sport. (MGM REALLY DOES) Hopalong
  9. NOPE, Not ME !!!!! Maybe some of the real good guys! Hop
  10. Welcome to the fun of actually learning how to shoot and not just pull the trigger a whole bunch of times and maybe reloading every now and then !!!! Hop
  11. usually about a Month before the match (at least in the past) If it was up to me there would be no stages posted. Just come shoot. Hop
  12. Shot a little yesterday just for you. target: 10 inch steel plate at 10 yds. 1 shot draw: Fastest with a solid hit = .79 Fastest with a edge hit = .68 2 shot draw: .83 draw and .17 split for a 2 shot total of 1 second !!!! (I kinda liked that) average of 10: 1 shot draws = .92 Reloads (I found I NEED to do some work here) Fastest for the day: 1.83 Average of 10: 2.12 (man I used to have that average down to 1.80 ) Best part of the day???? Finally getting a little rain !!!!! (of course while I was setting up a stage for the weekend match) This amazing lack of ability from just another dummy that shoots. Hop Edit to make something a little more understandable ???
  13. Last I checked. (been a while though) On a 10 yd and in paper target. Draws at a Match around 1.00. sometimes better sometimes not so better. Reload at a match............Can't say as I never get to check and they are usually done on the move anyway. reload at practice.: somewhere around 2.00 average of 10 (same as the last 3 years) BEST single reload: 1.63 (646) Best single reload : 1.65 (610) Best single reload : 1.68 (25-2) I'm pretty sure I have had a few better, but can't say for sure as they were in matches. the best thing is get a good average around 2 seconds and you will run with 90% of the "big dogs" in USPSA Hope that helps. Hop
  14. I do both "techniques" the "Jerry" way and the "Left Coast" way !!! I'm right handed Btw. For me, the "Jerry" way is preferred, but I use the other when I have to move left and reloading when I can. Try them both. You will find one that "just feels better" and get it down to doing it without even thinking about it. AND learn the other way "Just in Case" Hop
  15. I have tried Jerrys kit. It is a good kit for a "drop in" kind of thing. Vic Pickett makes his "Black Majik" kit and I like it just a little better. It has been "Cold tempered" (cryogenized) and that changes the temper and "action" of the spring slightly. His (Vic) kit comes with 2 rebound springs that are also treated. If you are using Winchester, Remington, CCI ect. I suggest using the longer rebound spring as the shorter one may or may not be strong enough to reset the trigger with the mainspring tightened down enough to pop the harder primers. I don't trim my mainspring set screws, and use the blue loctight instead. INFO: Blue loctight is actually a thread sealer vs Green and Red which are "Lockers". You can contact Vic here: mailto:match@icore.org Hop

  17. Brad, Bill is NOT at my local match, and he's got hair (although it is a light shade) Hop
  18. I Have NOT used or seen an LPA other than pictures (Disclaimer) I DO have on ALL of my S&W revolvers MILLETT sights. ON my original 625 I started with, I have the Std S&W front sight and a slightly wider notch on my Millet. I did this to see through the rear and see the front better. IN the mean time, I thinned my Front sight of my 25-2 to .100 and use the .320 (I think, have to look) rear sight to get the same spacing but better results (thinner front sight gets more precise hits).I really like this set up and am going to have all them done this way. I have tried the white outline rear sight, and gave it away. I PREFER ALL BLACK (even the front sight). Now on durability !!!!! At the range a few years ago, I hung my gun on a prop going by and knocked it out (no discussing who's holster ect) and it landed smack dab on the rear sight. Red clay/dirt was all in it but after a little cleaning I went back to shooting. The sight was still right where I had set it, no readjusting or anything needed. Just add ammo and away we go. I have NEVER had to readjust or doubt my Millett sights. FWIW. HOP
  19. I'm pretty sure Flex (Admin) meant your local USPSA match, and not your local ICORE match or IDPA (not bashing but just what he used as an example). Here in My neck of the woods, IF anyone is shooting a Revolver other than some stupid, crippled, fat, ugly bald guy it is a topic of conversation. Hop Edit for color, and spelling
  20. I don't know about all the "copy" stuff, but I'll toss in some INFORMATION between North Mountain and California Comp moonclip holders. I have been using Cali Comp since I started shooting revo in 2003/4/. Bob handed me a North Mountain 4 post at Area 8 and said he wanted me to use it. I told him I'd give it a "test" and depending on my analysis I'd buy one/it from him if I liked it. He said "OK". I have been toying around with it since and shot Indiana Section with it so I have a few observations. 1. First 3 reloads are the same for NM vs. Cali Comp. (on the average) So no advantage gained or lost to either. 2. On stages that require more than 3 reloads is where the NM comes to shine. the time to reload vs. Cali comp starts to show. I no longer have to reach around my midsection to get moons since the NM has moons still in the same place you have been getting them from. (+1 NM) 3. The room on your belt is freed up by the NM vs. the Cali Comp. (+1 NM) 4. The weight of the NM is not as much as 8 Cali Comps (or it seems that way). (+1NM) 5. I CAN use different calibers with my Cali Comps (45, 40) when the posts on the NM are too large for me to get my 646 moons on. (+1 CC) 6. The cost of the NM 4 post is $110, and If my memory serves me right the Cali Comps run around 20 bucks each plus shipping so no biggie either way. 7. I know BOB PERDUE, and he's a good straight up guy. I only know Cali Comp as a "shooting supplier" (+1 NM) 8. Talking about the Speedy Rack. I also know Elliot, and He TOO is a straight up GUY. (+1 SR) ,but it is designed around the Hearthco moonclip (the BEST out there) but I know many wheel gunners who are NOT going to buy Hearthco Moonclips but will buy Wilson stamped out ones instead (which likely will work with the speedy rack if modified to go around the O-ring without catching too much). the Speedy rack does require you to reach around your midsection to get to the farther moons, but they are tilted to allow ease of retrieve. (+1 S R) So here is the results: North Mountian: +4 California Comp: +1 Speedy Rack: +2 Now take that with a grain of salt, but those are my observations. I do know this: I am sending BOB some $$$$ for the 4 post holder he told me to try. AND I will send him some Hearthco Moonclips for my 646 and have him make me one for it too !!!!! For What It's Worth !!!! Hopalong
