  1. Shot the last one at Sir Walter. Hop
  2. They are all at the N.C., Mississippi, and Florida section matches. Hop
  3. Master Perdue will be there making Devon work for it. I would like to make NC again some day, but don't see it happening as long as it is on the coast (logistics you know) Hop
  4. Mercinary game has nothing to do with it. 12 stages, 291 rounds to shoot the match. Excellent Range officers. Well run and organized. I go for that reason, extras are just a bonus ! Hop
  5. according to John, You guys will have 15 or more. NOT bad, Considering there are at least 13 shooting the N.C. section the same weekend. And Florida is on the same weekend too Possibly the biggest combined turnout of wheelgunners for a weekend, including some of the last few USPSA nationals. Too bad we couldn't all get together and schedule matches where there was no conflict. (Please no thread drift) Good going JOHN, you now have the second most attended match in recent history of revolver shooting (on the average). THANK YOU !!! Hop
  6. Short to the ground maybe. I wouldn't know about the other way !!! Hop
  7. Jim, I really doubt your or Mikes action job is any way inferior to Randys. (I have not tried any of them aside my own, and have from good reputable folk that all three of you do quality work) The spring kit, well.......................... I tried my first one before I really knew much about the insides of a Smith & Wesson and it made an instant change in feel and ability to run a lighter action. Vic has his springs Chriogenized (SP) and the geometry on the mainspring is a little different than the factory mainsprings supplied by S&W. AND the rebound springs come chrioed too. The thing that helps with his kit is there is no guessing on new geometry for the mainspring, and no cutting of the rebound spring (so they can be reinstalled if it is sold ect.) once you do the other interior work, just drop the rebound spring you want in and the new rmainspring and set it according to what primers will be used (this also decides which rebound spring you use). Does it save the time enough vs the cost of the kit ? maybe, it surely will if someone is new to the "tuning" process. I hope that answers your question. Hopalong
  8. Right by the range. at the match hotel. I got one of the last rooms (non-smoking) available. HOP
  9. Hotel room reserved. We'll be getting in late, but we'll be there. Hop and company.
  10. Well, all I'm waiting on now is the time to go. Match entry......................Done Hotel room.......................Done Rental Car........................Done Ammo..............................Done Gun.................................Done Let's PLAY !!!! Hop
  11. Wohoo, We have a rifle side match this weekend at our range. Looks like I'll actually get a little practice for this. Hop
  12. Matt, Yes that was me. Glad your blaster ran in the rain. Good to meet you, make sure you come to Memphis in October. Hop
  13. Shawn, I didn't relize that was you. Good to meet you. We do it again in October. You'll need to be shooting your revolver though. You shot well yourself (for a bottom feeder) Hop
  14. No suprise to me, He's very good with anything that goes BANG !!! Well done Dave. Hopalong
  15. Got to shoot Friday, Had fun shooting with squad 82. Good shooting with you Tony.\ Hop
  16. Mike, Some people still pay for convenience. I've played with both Carmoneys' "tuning" the spring and using Vic's springs. I have better results with Vics' kits and a whole lot less time "Carmonkeying" around with bending the spring. Time is money, and I don't have either. Hop
  17. I got to watch the Revolver "Super Squad" shoot in the drizzle Sunday morning at Little Rock. I was impressed with all their shooting, Glad Joy accidently got me on another squad in a way as those guys would have had a hay day with me (especially Bubber). Rick Miller topped Roger Reed for Arkansas Champion in a hotly contesed race. Good shooting RICK. I also got to chat with Scott, Cris, John, BUbber, Roger, and RIck a little after the match. The good times are evident when a bunch of revolver toters get together. !!! Good to see all you guys, Sorry to not have gotten to blast with you, maybe next time. I also think this is the largest turnout of revolver in ARK section recent history. Great match by the way, next year it needs more turnout. Hop
  18. Yes, Contact info still the same. Hop
  19. Yeah cuz, I hear you. BUT Manny is Manny, he can do things shooting wise (even crazy trips) that we mere mortal shooters can't even fathom !!! Hop
  20. Just did the Marathon Alabama to Arkansas to be able to shoot both, Yes Arkansas is A-4 and Alabama is A-6 but for me I consider them in the same area. !!! Now, in 2 weeks the Mississippi match will be on the same weekend as the North Carolina match Hop
  21. We should be able to handle 200 . things are getting lined up (Computer problems about fixed) Hop
  22. Great fun !!!! Thanks to all, I had to shoot and scoot to make it to Arkansas. Hope all else have as much fun as I. Hop
  23. You folk are making things way too hard with the "Prone" thing. IF you want to practice. Practice all the positions possible and you'll have it covered !!! Me, I guess I just try what comes into mind when I see the stage. I'm a firm believer in the KISS meathod. See ya there, Hop
