  1. Having done this a few times. I'll give you some tips. When finished with the last shot (Patience on that last shot) push the latch, roll the gun up and open the cylinder at the same time. dump the spent moon with the ejector rod (I use my thumb, two middle fingers on the cylinder pinky and index finger holding the gun.) while going down to get a new moon with my right hand. When I get the gun down to belt level and rolled back to where I can see the back of the cylinder I throw the new moonclip into the cylinder. I then regrip the gun and close the cylinder with the left thumb and just below on my hand while moving it to the final grip position of the left hand(kind of a pivot really). Then I shoot again. Simple and somewhat effective. my fastest live fire two shots reload, two shots reload is 1.39 with my 646. Hopalong
  2. I'll be there, shooting early and then working the match.(I think) Hop
  3. Yes there is a map. It is on the club website. www.memphis-ssa.com Click on the practicle pistol link on the left. Hop
  4. Iora, Yes you may shoot your 8 shot in the revolver division, but if you shoot shot number 7 before reloading(and the ROs catch you, even by accident) you will then be moved to OPEN which is not recognized for the prize table. Hop
  5. To answer your question....... Yes. There are ranges I've been to that it seems to me that I just can't seem to shoot good at. Although in the big picture it turns out I do OK.....have won the match a time or two. But just can't seem to shoot to my own standards. A win is a win. Shooting to our own standards is a different thing all together. Confused ? Yeah, me too. Hopalong
  6. Eku, I see you answered your own question. I got a preview of the stages, Gary will be posting them soon. You will like what he has in store for you..... Hopalong RM 2011 Ky (WIldcat) Multigun Championship Candidate for USPSA President

Hopalong Match director Memphis Charity Challenge Candidate for USPSA President (Read your Front Site)
  11. I will check the 2010 Ft. Benning 3-gun rules on the SBR. But running on memory there was no restrictions.....Now the state of KY might be a different story....check local laws. Hopalong Range Master 2011 Kentucky (Wildcat) state match Candidate for USPSA President (check your frontsight magazine)
  12. It may be on the sighting in program, but you can check it out and see what you missed if you didn't make it last year. Hop
  13. Trugent, We (range owner and I) discussed the rifle match, I would not be able to give it the time and effort it would deserve. Running for president of USPSA seems to be quite time consuming after all.... As far as the MS3-gun challenge 2011. See prior statement, and I need more time for the Memphis Charity Challenge which is November 4 and 5 if any one is interested (on USPSA website match listings). and actually my VERY supportive new wife Elizabeth wanted me to do it again. Maybe next year. Hop
  14. It (Memphis Charity Challenge) IS the defacto Revolver Nationals.............We have 70+(average) revolvers and have raised $11,000 since the beginning for Childrens Hospitals in Memphis. (the most ever at a USPSA nationals is 40) I'd be glad to talk to the President of USPSA and see what we could come up with. Hopalong
  15. Chris, It worked out pretty good last year not practicing, but I'll try to be practiced up for you. Hop
  16. Regretably, I have to say there will be no MS3G 2011. Maybe we'll pick it back up at a later date. Hopalong
  17. Elizabeth and I will be there, but don't know scheduling yet. Probably gonna shoot with Jerry and Kay. Hop
  18. 6-shooter, Welcome, and the key to this match is "have fun, be safe". Everything else is secondary. It'll be more fun you've ever had with a revolver. See you then, bring another with you. You'll see some shooters you'll never see with a revolver in their hands when you'll see them at this match. Hopalong
  19. JT, We just consider the source and let it go in one ear and out the other. Hop
  20. Good luck Bill. If I'm in the neighborhood I'll drop in and help. (don't look too hard though, you're 6+ hrs away) Hopalong
  21. Try Winchester Super Field (check the load books) It works great in my 9mm. Haven't tried it in 38SPL though. Hopalong
