  1. Took me 6 months to go from 2.2 (average of 10) to below 2......be patient, it will come. (oh and that was 3 years after I started shooting revolver exclusively. Hop
  2. No, 2 shooters are what is needed to hold the match !!!!! Hopalong (MD)
  3. If you want to shoot some other god for saken thing than a revolver. Shoot that divisions capacity !!!! we revolver folk don't want to handicap anybody
  4. Guys/Gals, think about it a bit. At the local club level how many of the participants shoot other than that monthly match ? (my guess, 30% or less) so how do you hope for more than 30 % participation in voting with people who don't care who is the president of the National club ? (Area directors too). All these people want to do is shoot their local monthly match and go on to what ever else they have to do. When you get to sectionals, areas and National matches the number is WAY higher as to who and how many would vote. Oh and If you did vote for me (Sam Keen) for President. Thank You and vote again (Cant say for whom as it will get blasted) Hopalong
  5. Mark, I was amazed and honored to be asked to be the Range Master. I look forward to another Great match like this years and will be proud to be part of it. I enjoyed the last one greatly, and highly recomend it to anyone that even thinks about making the match (even if I'm the Range Master). Hopalong
  6. Well done Matt. You're there, just any little thing any where in the match was the difference....not the last stage. Like we talked about before. See you in TN, Watch your mailbox.....(Bring some one else) Sam
  7. Oh and thanks to all who voted for me in the presidental election. I haven't heard yet either. Sam
  8. Hi Folks !!!! Actually had a few minutes so here goes. I'm a little tied up right now....(working 7 days a week, 10+ hrs a day) so not much has been done on my part towards the match. What can be done on ya'lls part ??????? Send entries in to Brad so we can get a handle on how many are coming. Also start a roll call here on BE and talk it up with others. Last years challenge was for everyone to "bring one more" and it was too big a challenge since most didn't "Bring one more" and our total entries actually dropped from the 1st year by 6. This years challenge........."Break the 80 mark" Remember....we are raffeling a Standard Springfield M1a rifle (Walnut stock) with those tickes available now (go to official website) www.memphischaritychallenge.com for more info. We are also going to raffell a really neat goodie anyone would love to take home (Thanks Springfield) that will be available only to match participants and staff at the match on Saturday. All the gun sponsors so far have specified that thier guns are to given out randomly.........so there you are...Sorry Mike, you can complain to them this year. I'm behind on prize table gathering, I could use any and all help for donations to the prize table like in the past, we (MCC) only ask for donations, and spend ZERO dollars on the prize table. Sierra Bullets have sent a gift Certificate for $500 worth of their merchandise. I've contacted others but can't get back in touch with them because of being gone, and home computer illnesses. Final stage drawings are soon to be sent to USPSA for that blessing. The match will happen, if 20 show up to shoot or 220. Good luck to all going to USPSA revo/open/l-10 , and Production/Limited Nationals. World shoot competitors and espescially the Revolver team. See ya'll in November, bring a few exta $$$$$$ as we'll be auctioning off some goodies again. Sam
  9. Along with what Brad is saying. The "highest classification other than revolver" thing is just a little bit of curiousity on my part. Also the match hotel is new. Built last year and just as close as the other one, just tell them you are reserving a room for the Memphis Charity Challenge for the rate we've bargained for. As Bill said, we are raffing an M1a. We will also be auctioning some other stuff off because some of the sponsors want it that way (MGM has done this in the past, and is a great way to get some of thier great stuff). So bring some extra cool cash and we'll raise some money for LeBohneur. (the next kid there may be kin to you, you never know). Hop Oh, and were still talking with the Board of directors about Matts class.
  10. Happy Birthday to my wife Sunny226 !!! Hop
  11. Dean, Main match is Saturday, but a few will be able to shoot with some of the range officers Friday. Sunday is reserved as a make up day. (it will be the normal monthly match for memphis USPSA if we don't need it). Self squadding is being addressed by the stats dude Brad. Don't worry too much though. It'll be all fixed by first shot. Sam
  12. Thanks to Bob Perdue and 4wheelguns.com we have a new website. Match information is posted with more coming soon. Entry form is up and we'll take them as soon as you send them in. Lets see if we can get past 80....... which will add a Smith & Wesson 500 to the Random part of the prize table www.memphischaritychallenge.com/ Pretty easy 2 remember I think. Hopalong
  13. just that. optical sights with no magnification. red dots, 1x cross hairs ect........just no magnification. HOP
  14. Hotel changing, finalizing details. Will be posting shortly. New entry forms being approved by LeBohneur, when approved I'll post them here, and on the new website www.memphischaritychallenge.com (brand new with no Info on it now) Hopalong
  15. Finished up shooting the stages today. I have had the biggest time here in the North West with the weather, stages, and great bunch of guys I met and got to shoot with. Mike and the great crew put some awesome stages on the ground. Unfortunately I did not do my part all the time, but If we did all the time why would we keep coming back except to see good friends. The stages had a good mix of easy, somewhat hard and hard shooting. I had the discussion today that our National matches in the past have been so "bullet proofed" that it takes the " mix up and variety " out of the stages. Last weeks A-5 and this weeks A-1 had more variety in them than the last 4 National matches I've shot combined. Good for you Mike and Ray. If any way possible, I'll be back to do this match at this range again. Thanks Area-1 range crew and administration !!!! Hopalong
  16. I had posted on the Election forum about my running for president. After the crash all my stuff was gone, but Mr. Meeks stuff was still there. It looks to me that some memory was lost in the crash. I'll be getting my information back up on it soon. Thanks, And VOTE......USPSA spends lots of money sending out ballots.......typically 30% gets sent back. Hopalong (Sam Keen)
  17. John, No problem, see you in November......2 IRC gift certificates will be available there ! Hop
  18. You are quite welcome. I'll see you soon, this time I'll be shooting and having fun too !!! Hopalong
  19. The veneralbe Paul Hernandez will be this years Range Master. Gary Stevens who has done a WONDERFUL job the last 2 years has decided to take a little time for himself this year. Thanks to both of these two gentlemen for thier hard work and dedication to the sport and the Memphis Charity Challenge particularly. Stages close to getting finished and turned in to USPSA for approval. You'll like them, as well or better than the previous matches. Hopalong
  20. Thanks for your entry Blueridge......The rest of you. I could use some more entries. There are things I need to order and have $$$$ on hand to get to give you a good match........... Still debating on the prize table, we'll see. Hop
  21. Enjoyed my return trip to Ohio. I didn't shoot good, but not shooting that gun in 8 months does that.... Congratulations to all the winners (Class and Divisions) Congratulations to my friend Chad Rousch for winning the revolver division (and gun). I enjoyed getting to see every body come through and shoot the stage I was on (Stage 3). The two Toms and I were impressed with all the good help and attitudes. I really had a blast shooting on Squad 1 with those crazy Ohio guys............they acted just like good ole southern boys with a wierd speach problem !!!! See some of you at KY multi-gun, or A-5, or Indiana section......or somewhere else on a range. Until then...... Read your front sight about the people running for elected positons and shoot safe. Hopalong/Sam Keen
  22. Elizabeth and I are signed up in squad 14 See ya there. Hop
